The two lopsided matches on the first day have, at least for me, vindicated the WC organizers' decision to hold a first qualification round for the associates and the two bottom-ranked test teams. Imagine this Hong Kong team being included in group games with the test nations and how it would have affected the quality of the tournament.

Its a world cup. Obviously there will be one sided games. I dont know why cricket fans have such a snobby attitude towards minnows. HK qualified on merit and deserve the chance to play whoever the hell they like regardless of the result. In rugby the big teams regularly win by 60 plus points and they get on with it. You should too. I mean is playing a minnow side every four years that big a deal??!!!
