Out of form gill departs again for a mediocre score at home.
 
Facing a pacer on dead pitch, home conditions, and the unthreatening 40-year-old Anderson bowling at 130 kph, still lost his wicket despite being given a second chance just two balls earlier.

Not sure why he was hyped to moon.
 
Both teams will be happy going into lunch. England have two wickets and India have gone past 100.
 
Good to see england is not afraid of taking unpopular and aggressive decisions. Indian team is clearly very inexperienced at the moment with no kohli, pujara and rahane
 
Cant understand indian love with Gill, he is clearly struggling. he is not scoring runs on indian phatta wickets now. Sarfraz would have been a good choice instead of Gill

I am quite pleased with that session from England. If they can take semi-regular wickets throughout the day, it’s unlikely that India will reach the average 1st innings score for this ground which is 479. If England can keep India below 400 here I think they will be fairly satisfied. Then it’s down to England to bat well enough to stay in the game.
 
India has won a good toss. The pitch will turn and crack by tomorrow.
 
Pitch looks pretty benign. This TM pretty much had taken Indian cricket back to the 90s but backing non performers like Gill and Iyer and with their whole defensive mindset and deserving players are put aside.
 
Iyer being troubled by bouncers on this slow pitch tells a story but hey he can dance and has a social media presence.

A tough look for Root but England players have their hands on their head. It reached Root that quickly that even calling it a chance feels slightly harsh. You should take those chances.
 
If Wood was a Pakistani fast bowler, nobody would have rated him. Pace but wayward, non economical, expensive and only has occasional great days.
 
We keep playing this no hope but won't play Sarfaraz who may not prove to be great but at least give him a chance.

Its such a travesty to play someone like Iyer in test cricket. He is someone who has hardly any technique to speak of for ODIs and we are playing him in tests?

What has happened to a purist like Dravid?

At young age, he would be hyped that he will do this, that but at current age which Wood is, nobody would rate him especially if he was Pakistani pacer and with the stats he has.

Just tuned in...good going by our boys, big questions for Shubhman gill and Shreyas-they gotta come good ...adn in a hurrry....i was surprised to see Gill...i thot washi sundar would have played and also sarfraz....but Good batting by Yash....what he is showing...and at such a young age is a hunger for runs....and he also shows a passion for TC which is so heartening for us and for TC in general....
 
It's just jaiswal that's it how a team can win the match with this type of batting
 
Jaiswal has reached 150 landmark. Superb batting by him. Holdin on to 1 end for his team.
