At work, I was told in no uncertain terms by a senior Indian colleague that Imran Khan had been handed victory by the army; told me am sure they added a few million votes - job done type thing.

Had to spend some time explaining a pov that Pakistanis wanted change etc.

Wondering if this is how our resident Indian PPers feel?

I remember a month or so ago when there were some elections going on in India (not sure what) and the Modi and Indian elections thread being very very active, like a post a minute active, but in the 100 plus posts I barely saw one Pakistani poster giving his opinion on the matter or even knowing what's going on. On the other hand our Indian PP brothers seem to know a lot about Pakistani politics, don't know if it is normal trend or of they are much well informed due to being here much often.

Look up the number of threads on Modi from 2013 till 2014 elections in India. I am sure your opinion about Pakistani not giving opinion on India will change.

Well its good that Pakistanis wanted change and according to most on PP the choice was IK.

Pakistan has a history if army intervention in democratic system so please dont be surprised if people think the same happened here.

Not only Indians but western media too had the same view.

In India the Pakistani media narrative is carried by Jang and Dawn group who have a long association with Indian media houses. I am told they are not very pro IK.

At the end of the day its Pakistan's and its people's perogative to have a leader of their choice. If they are happy with IK, no one should complain, rigged election or not.

Indians love watching Pakistani news and keeping up to date with the political scene, just go on youtube or any Pakistani facebook page you'll see Indians giving their expert analysis on Pakistani affairs.

The indian narrative is this - Any terrible and corrupt politician who wins is chosen by the people but if any good person wins, its due to rigging by the army.

How many threads here on PP about Modi and India?

In India since Kejriwal experiement, most of the Indians think that any person talking abt Changes is just trying to be a thakedar of changes which Kejriwal became.

Similarly, in 2014 most of the Indians believed that Modi will bring changes in there life and thats why they chosse him.

Now, both of them just proved to be hot air.

Neither Kejriwal nor Modi has made any changes to normal person's life and its still mainly the same as it was.

Similarly, to us Indians Imran seems to be a mix of Kejri and Modi i.e. making himself as messaih of changes but somehow dont think he will be able to do that much.

I think Imran Khan winning was a terrific result, and have been calling it on this forum for the better part of 2 years now.

If anything, it's the Pakistanis who were in denial over his chances.

The main reason I am anti Imran Khan and like to find faults with him is because I see so many posters support him and happy for him. When I see people happy, it makes me jealous and bitter.

Don't worry I'm sure we'll find other ways to maintain your bitterness :)

Yep! And did an mega about turn when he did win :)

By and large Indians were desperate for Nawaz Sharif to resume his duties. The Indian perspective is always that someone pro Indian should be sitting in Islamabad. Anything else or anyone else according to them is being backed by the military or ISI. IK mentioning the dreaded K word in his first speech gave India further reason for concern that he will be no Nawaz Sharif.
