How do you feel England will fare in India?

I thought that the English side was quite poor when they couldn't beat Pak at home, and their latest loss to Bang only reinforces that opinion.

England would likely have been 0-2 in the series if the umpire had not made a mistake and given Ali not out when he was on 1 in the first Test.

And England could have won 2-0 had the 2 lbws in the 2nd innings yesterday gone their way and the stumping that was given not out on the field was sent to the third umpire, it works both ways in the end and is a question of ifs and buts.

Which 2 lbws and a stumping were out but not given and how many more runs did Bang get?

But they are also a team that learns fast. Previously they we're beaten by Pak in 2012 and later they beat us. In 2014 they lost to SL 1-0 and then they beat us 3-1. Although those were different circumstances with different personnel.

But it is team that provides dogged resistance.

Bell can come.No problems for India.

Dare not bring England best batsmen in last 25 years- KP. The focus is on not losing any game vs England .

Bangladesh has indirectly helped England with two useful preparations ahead of India tour....two absolute rank Turner.. .... but I think it will be a hard fought one.... but clearly advantage india

If the selectors had any sense they would call up Pietersen and Panesar.

You don't get any credit for playing with one arm tied behind your back.

Call up someone who hasn't been able to get in a 2nd division counties first team and someone who hasnt played 1st class cricket in 2 years who managed to make the dressing room atmosphere improve drastically and notably when he left? You're alright thanks.

These sound like desperate measures but at this point England need to change something, anything!

4-1 to India is my prediction

Would be very interesting series nevertheless.. If England had guys like Swann and Monty they would actually be favorites.

If India had Kapil Dev and Gavaskar, we would win 5-0.

Coming back to the current teams, I think the most valuable player for England may turn out to be rain.

Pietersen and Bell need to be in the squad. England is going to be defeated anyway but annihilation is not necessary.

Your lack of common sense baffles me.. It's meant to be given as an example of how much spin resources England actually lacks compared to last time they toured.

Ashwin and Jadeja are much better than any Bangladeshi spinner so India should be able to win easily.

Jadeja is nowhere near Shakib in any format. Ashwin hasn't done anything special away from home. Shakib has 5 wicket hauls in places such as South Africa and England: none can be said of either Jadeja or Ashwin who have played more times in these places than Shakib.

More than KP, ENG actually will miss Monty, Swan & Jimmy (younger one). Their batting line up might scramble to a total for it's depth, but if Beard, Beard & Ansari is their spin attack ................ Lord save the Queen.

ENG's problem is there is no left-hander in Indian line-up, but their best 2 spinners are Offie - Moeen & Batty. Rashid won't work against India, while it's unfair to throw Ansari, for such a Series. However, between Adil & Ansari, probably Ansari is better.

May be a closer Series than it looks, as ENG is playing against Asian teams in different condition for last 1 year, PAK, SRL, PAK & now BD - must have learned some tricks.

They'll do well against India, Bangladesh made for a great warm up; thanks guys!

Pardon me, but this series is being played in India not anywhere else, jadeja in India is a different beast altogether, the less said about ashwin in India the better on top of that u are forgetting about a guy called mishra, also our pacers happen to be better than Bangladesh, especially with reverse swing guy's like shami and umesh, reverse swing the ball at fair click,so I think it's a better attack.

Well, the Bangladesh series wasn't inspiring.

Might end up getting smashed like SA.

Very true, but not quite the way you think! Jadeja averages 23.51 per wicket, whereas for Shakib it is 33.31. The are nowhere near each other.

We will need to prepare spinning tracks unlike the ones in KIWI tests which gave enough options for Kiwi Batsmen and were not difficult to bat on,for England we need pitches to suit our strengths and not theirs

Perhaps. But they are playing in India. Which means they will be more than a handful for England. I would add Mishra to this as well. So no question Eng. are going to struggle. Jadeja, Mishra and Ashwin are much tougher combo than the Bangladesh spinners.

This is now gonna be interesting with reports of Anderson being back in the squad as early as the second test. Much to look forward for the English. India will now be wary of his prowess.

So how does his inclusion affect the series prediction guys?

Said it before

Unless weathe doesn't cooperate Indja should be disappointed if they don't seer England 5-0

I think England will do much better this time than they did in Bangladesh as they will be the underdog here. I can't ruled out them winning or drawing one or two tests.though I think ind will win the series. hope for an exciting series like Bangladesh one.

I hope India makes a moderately turning track and cook wins the toss. India will still win the match, just want to see what will be the next excuse. because no way India is getting praised for its good performance.

It has happened once, let's see if it happens again.

My prediction (hope?) was 4-0. After the first Test it seemed too optimistic, but now that prediction is back on track.

4-0 is important as it will give the team great confidence going forward, especially as England is the team that has done well against us earlier.

Still 3 weeks away, can't wait for this series to begin. I want India to win at least by a 4-0 margin and tighten its grip on the #1 position. This, rather than the Australia tour is the biggest test. Having said that, the Australians are not people who take defeat lightly and I am sure they are planning and working on beating India in India.

Still on track for 4-0. Come on boys, make it happen!

Well at least the toss excuse fell flat. England won 3 out of 4 tosses

2-1 or 3-1 to India. If England still had Swann and Monty I think they could win or draw the series, but the dearth of spin in England makes this mission impossible.

Hmm. I thought England had it in them to win one test, but it looks like 0-4 now. The lack of runs from Cook has been a big factor.
