Pakistan are bad at defending but would other sides have allowed England so much leeway?

On English pitches, only team that can match them is a full-strength Australia because they have better bowlers. Although, the addition of Jofra has narrowed the gap.

Jofra wil be found out by likes of some of the Indian batsmen - think their bigger issue is spin. Not much in there in my view.

There is nothing to be found out. He has pace and is accurate. That's a bonus for any team.

England can only get away with pathetic teams like WI, SL and Pakistan and average team like BD and AFG.Any top 5 team can easily defend 340+ in 7 out of 10 times.

Micky needs to be firmed with him and put him in his shoes for his arrogance

They almost got caught with their pants down in last match. Reckon this is not a sustainable strategy and they will get roasted against a better bowling side.

Calling wi,pak,sl pathetic but calling bd and afg average. You're a joker mate.
If the top 5 teams can defend 340 7 out of 10 times then why have England chased successfully 20+ Times in a row in England?

Probably for quite a while.

It is a slightly frightening prospect to think what this utterly explosive and seemingly bottomless England ODI batting side could do in top gear - a score of 500 looks possible.

If England fail to win their home World Cup with the current team, it has to be considered a big disappointment.

Against Better bowling sides who have good wicket taking spinners , England will not get more than 320 - 330 .

eng have peaked too early, they will struggle against the better batting sides, rem paks batting is poor.

If 350 is considered a winning target in ODis these days, then England are doing well with restricting the opposition at 6.24 runs per over.

I think other teams will bowl better than Pakistan have for sure, but England can bowl better too. At the end of the day they should have more in each department to be confident of winning against anyone. Whether they can do that in a high pressure semi final or final is another matter. I think India with their more varied attack will be the biggest test.

They didn't even have Bairstow & Morgan playing and Butler got 0 and still chased it down.

Until they face a team which has real spinners , not darters and part time spinners. Even Afghanistan can cause a bit of trouble with their spinners.

India just needs Kohli and one of the guys to click they will hunt this down. Kohli knows how to plan a 350 plus chase better than anyone else. Australia has the players. But to go at 7 Maxwell and Warner have to click big. Others are more of a steady batsmen.

As long as England have their current batting unit. It's a powerful well oiled machine no matter how you look at it.

Australia, India, and South Africa all have betters bowlers than England.

I think on most occasions they will chase 300 plus down . But that one occasion they don't, could be during the WC knockout rounds....

We asked this question before - and it came to haunt England in the game vs Pakistan.

England have focused too much on the batting game and have almost forgotten bowlers also win you games. They feel so happy and proud of the bowlers they have that can bat also. But are they real good bowlers?

Had there been no Archer. England would've lost their 1st game as well.
