Tell about your story and how many hours you studied and please tell me how you prepared for urdu and islamiyat exam

I scored 935/1100 back than it was a good score and I got into my field of choice in Uet lahore , nowadays i guess you have to score something like 970+ to have a decent shot(not sure though, ask someone more recent). Islamiyat is easy as far as i remember i started preparing for it just a month before.
Urdu can be tricky and can cause lot of lower scores because of wierd way of grading essay's and stuff.

Used to be a very good student in Matric and Fsc especially in science subjects. Always a 'last moment study' person.

My FSc mark sheet was something like this :(

Well they discuss GSCEs etc so why not this?

Most Pakistani people are always afraid that others will judge them.

Even regarding GCSE, many students in Pakistan will always lie about it. They will exaggerate telling how many As they have when in reality they have failed.
i remember every time i met a former student and asked him about his grades, he would lie about them. You figure out they are lying when they mention that they are doing a diploma course after A levels :)). Plus the good old Facebook status. I remember literally seeing this guys state of result and on Facebook he made up his grades.

936, back in 1998. I'm not sure how that compares to scores these days, but back then, I was ranked in the top 100 in Punjab, and in my little town I was a minor celebrity for a couple of weeks.

Nice... You must have achieve a lot in your life after that...

Islamiyat used to the easiest subject during my time. I just prepared for tests/quizzes & exams during the year and for less than a week after pre-boards. Additionally, I developed the habit of memorizing Ayaat and reproducing them in exams (without Airaab). Enough to get 45+. Though, the teacher was very seasoned and had the ability to make the coursework stimulating and interesting.

That you can't predict somebody's luck in life based on school results....
I think you can, in fsc to score 900+, you would need lot of dedication and other qualities...and those qualities would make you failure proof. (I am not saying that to score that high you would need to be special)

my batch fellows ended up doing whatever they wanted to do...
And batch included a guy who scored 998 to students who got admitted based on quota...90%+ are doing what they aimed for...career wise... big chuck wanted to do css, and almost everyone was successfull (some required 2nd attempt), several wanted to go abroad, all of them are now in usa/canada/Australia etc.

There is a difference between failure-proof, doing what you want and achieving big in life... CSS, going abroad, becoming professioal, that's not same as doing something great...

Well most important thing to achieve something in life is luck.... And people in top 100 do't have any more luck than people outside it...

It had nothing to do with luck, and everything to do with my not putting in the hard yards.

What are you doing now a days?

Writing, woodworking and gardening for the most part. Exercise too, if time allows.

Did just OK in matric and FSc, enough to get admission to college of my choice but did very well afterward in every exam I took, some the most competitive ones here in USA and it paid off. Doing fine now.

My score was in 980s and had that one subject not betrayed me, it would have been a four digit number and a position in board exams. No nashukri though, I was content with being in top 30 and got admission in universities I applied for.
