40 - 45. I guess he will score 2 centuries but will be flop in few innings too.

I think that either it will be a repeat of Viv Richards' epic series in 1976 or it will be a disaster like 2014. Nothing in between.

Virat will average around 70 plus this series. Will score 2 plus centuries and a couple of 50’s. Watch him win India the series. He’s the greatest of all time. It don’t matter if you agree or not.

< 35
I think he will have much better tour compared to last time but I don't think he will be dominant force from India.
I expect rahane & vijay outscore him.

English bowlers won't pick his wicket more than 5 times. This is going to be the most memorable phainta English bowlers ever received at home.

So if the pitches were like they were in past would virat have struggled against anderson & broad?

I would imagine in high 60s with atleast 2 centuries. I would be surprised if he scores less than 500 runs in the series.

Even if he has an Okish series (by his standards) he would average no less than 60. These are ideal conditions for batting and England are a mess right now in Test Cricket. I am totally backing India to win this 3-0 or 4-1

Kohli doesn't have middling series. He will either get 500-550 run haul or 180-220 type series.

If he flops in his first 3 inns continuously, India will most likely be 2-0 down and Kohli's interest and average will spiral further as series progresses.

Taking bias out of my answer, he will come back strongly in this series.

He has a point to prove, this is the only gaping hole in his test credentials.

I personally think, him being so mentally strong, he will average 50+ this series.

I'm fully backing Kohli to have a dominating series with at least 2 centuries and a double ton. It's about time Kohli takes the throne of being the best test batsman in the world.

50+ - good wickets for batting and his technique along with mental tenacity has improved vastly. Expect him to score a 150+ knock at least as well.

Contest between him and Rashid will be a fascinating one following the "ball of the century" delivery to him in the recently concluded ODI series.

Perhaps I ll change my earlier prediction to atleast 3 centuries and 500 to 550..no way he was going to anything less than 500/2

With this kind of start, he may be heading towards a massive performance.

1 run shy. Will be interesting to see if he can better this knock.

until now IN 6 innings 440 run @73.33 , i have gut feeling he make around 730-760 runs @ 80 including 4 hundreds

24.78.

Don’t ask me how I know. :asif

Glad he proved me wrong.

If he scores a double-century in the next two Tests, it will be the best tour a batsman has had to England since the original “King”, Vivian Richards in 1976.

There must be another thread on this, because I had a post there. His first 10 innings earned him 134 at 13.40, which I backed him to correct significantly this time. To reach a bare minimum overall average of 35-40, over 20 innings, he needs around 565 to 666 runs in this Series - I did back him to reach in between there with couple of tons at least. Outside ENG, his conversion rate was outstanding (21 in 61 Test I believe) - he was due at least 2 centuries to make it 1 in 5, 3 is probably per.

I think, he'll reach there - ~600 runs with 2/3 hundreds.

Thats what great players do. They overcome challenges and conquer.

Going through old thread is fun :)

Now, he has another 9 innings in WC, most likely 10, can be 11 as well - how much will he score this time?

Anything less than 500 runs in this edition of WC will be a bit of failure for him especially with kind of standards he has set.
