How overrated is Pakistan's bowling?

He does not have the stamina to bowl long spells at pace . Needs to build stamina . Anyway the point is when English bowling attack averages 27 and Pakistan's average 45, you know that there is a massive gulf in the bowling .
Theres a bigger gulf in batting . I was looking at stats and englands last 5 batsmen have easily outperformed pakistan

Pakistan had england 150/5 . 250/5 .
While themselves were 250 /2 .
Yet england recovered to win the match on this flattish track .
Lack of depth in bowling and batting showed up .

Only a clown would have rated this bowling attack anyway, I think most people knew that it would be tough, Amir first test series after 5 years, Shah never bowling in these conditions, Wahab, one of the most overrated bowlers to come out of Pakistan, Rahat/Imran, not much to say about them and you can add Sohail to that list.

It's not like we had in form Junaid like the SA tour in 2013 and Ajmal here.
OR Irfan too who just came back and looked good against India during late 2012 and we had a surprise element with him.

Amir bowled long spells at 90+ in Australia when he took a 5-fer in Melbourne. Don't worry about his stamina. Dude just bowled 31 over marathon spell, without much rest inbetween, after which most Indians would take 2-3 years to recover from. He's bowling within himself focusing on control and his swing which you're better off doing bowling with the dukes. Could've extracted an extra yard of 5ks but he knows it would be idiotic because he's bowling in a 4-man unit. He's slowly getting his legs under him and you'll see his average pace consistently rise.

Convenient of you to ignore the massive gulf in the depth and quality of the batting lineups.

Love how you take pot-shots at the Indian bowling now which to my mind, makes me think that finally you are starting to see them as equal. After all, most superior lineups don't take pot shots at minnows, its only when you see someone as serious competitor that you start attacking them

So basically he is turning into Bhuvneswar Kumar. And forgive me for not noticing him getting any legs under him or thinking that his pace is going to rise (and not decline)

Not my fault your lot are more fragile than glass. I'll take pot-shots at whoever I want. Competition? Lol please.

Not sure what you're implying because Kumar has upped his pace. Of course you're not going to notice, you aren't an athlete nor a fast bowler.

The funny thing is we made Mo Ali into Warne making us think if our batting was overrated....Now he is batting like a Gilchrist-someone who comes in at 6 and 7 and puts games out of the oppositions reach against the Pak bowling making them think if their bowling is overrated :))

Legend :moali

Still not the best fast bowlers, but they do well in conditions favouring them. Especially Wahab is deadly on slow and flat wickets.

Our LOI bowling attack is the worst atm. We no longer have Wasim, Waqar, Saqi, Imran, Mushi, Akhtar, Asif. Instead we have overrated tools like Amir, Wahab who our fans love to put on a pedestal but they aren't anything special.

Pakistan fans now know how it feels to be an Indian fan.:narine

Believe it or not I came here to post the exact same thing :O .... except I would add that despite never having any fast bowler as good as some Pakistani bowlers ... we have made the best of our modest bowling resources ... our overall W/L ratio in ODI's against all countries is now almost the same.

This shows how big a difference there is between Pak and Ind when it comes to batting, fielding, captaincy, selection etc ... that makes a big difference over the long run.

This thread needs a bump. If you are going to let an SL batting lineup post Jaya/Sanga and without Angelo Mathews to score 450 odd, you have to be a mediocre bowling lineup. As it is, it's Yasir doing all the wicket taking and to a slightly lesser extent Abbas.

very overrated, only yasir shah is okayish, but not as great as ravi, jadeja and herath

A poor show by Pakistani bowling unit and situation was made worse by playing only one spinner.
