How popular is the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) in Azad Kashmir and Kashmir valley?

How popular are they? From my point of view, in Azad Kashmir it is very minimal support? (perhaps 1/10 people). In Kashmir valley it is slightly more popular but probably no more than 3/10 people?

Everyone else’s thoughts from Azad Kashmir in Pakistan and Indian occupied Kashmir valley? Madplayer

The Indians have had and got time on their hands, just like the European Jews in Israel.

Let the freedom figjters become terrorist, that is inrvitsble. Give them something else to worry about like water, food, PTSD among the kids, blackmail or bribe vulnerable individuals to spy for the regime.

There might be a revival if a new group is formed, if JKLF ever got really popular the Indians would invent a new group as a counterweight.

Its one of the 3 major pro-freedom groups. But among the 3, it has the least support among people. Hurriyat (M) and Hurriyat (G) have the bigger say.

JKLF started off as a militant group and Yasin Malik was among the first militants in Kashmir. But later they changed their approach and now have supposedly adopted the gandhian approach.

This and the alleged large pro independence support don’t go together then....

It was very popular in 90s but with time like all other organisations is losing its relevance.

Many Kashmiris I know want complete freedom. This includes people from both sides of the divide. I have no problem giving them that if it means progress and peace in the region.

We really don’t. With due respect just because you have met a few JKLF and Yasin Malik supporters, they are in the minority. Majority of us want union with 🇵🇰 and this pro-independence nonsense is calculated anti-Pakistan propaganda sponsored by India and western countries. Even shaaik and Madplayer will tell you this

I have spoken to a few Kashmiris online who say about half want a merger with Pak where as others do complete independence. One thing certain is no one is interested in being an Indian.

Forget the polls...

7/10 Kashmir valley districts: Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara, Kulgam, Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama are pro Pakistan. Srinagar, Budgam and possibly Ganderbal are pro independence.

Srinagar takes the headlines and the richer people online support independence. So online is a skewed sample.

I remain unconvinced however certainly want Kashmir to become a part of Pakistan.

Speak to people from those 7 districts as well as Doda, Bhaderwah, Poonch. You will change your mind. There’s a campaign to delink Pakistan from Kashmir valley. This independence movement is nothing but an Indian invention to divide people.

Srinagar is the hub of pro independence movement. Some people there see people in places like Pulwama as second class citizens and can’t stomach pro Pakistan sentiment.

Whether people want Ind, Pak or independence should be down to them in a peaceful manner...Kashmiris deserve peace.

I am against violent methods used by ALL.
