Really looking forward to this series. This West Indies team is really likeable and has a lot of talent. NZ is going through a rough patch in tests and struggling for a regular combination but at home they are strong.

Predict how you think West Indies will do in NZ?

I think we'll drop a few limited overs games.

I'll be disappointed if we don't win all the Test matches.

Test series will be much closer. West Indies are much more settled in tests. New Zealand should win the ODIs.

WI test side is a lot better than the ODI side right now.

Solid batsmen in Brathwaite, Hope & Chase (although a bit of a home track bully as of now) and a good pace attack with Gabriel & Roach.

West Indies will find their experience in England useful ahead of this series. They're improving as a Test team, the mentality is tougher and there are some great talents like Brathwaite and Hope. However Chase needs to prove himself against lateral movement. Also have reservations over Blackwood as a consistent Test batsman.

They need to get the team combination right. You'd think they'd go four pacers (Gabriel, Roach, Holder and Joseph) and one spinner (Chase). No need to play two spinners like they did in England.

Will be surprsed if they win the series but they can nick one.

If Windies can sneak a test win here as well, it would be great for their confidence. They're capable, just a matter of execution.

West Indies showed great promise in England and New Zealand might be in for a surprise. I still expect New Zealand to win the test series. The shorter formats will be closer.

Expecting WI to be obliterated, but you never know with them.

I think NZ have a higher quality bowling attack + they are in their own conditions. Southee & Boult are very good when it's seaming or swinging and Wagner is a very effective old ball/flat track operator. Roach is good but not as good as Boult. Gabriel is quick but NZ has slower pitches so will not be as effective as SOuthee with his swing & local knowledge.

I also think NZ has more quality in their batting. There is no one in the WI lineup half as good as Taylor or Williamson. WI have improved and have found a few fighters but Hope is raw and the others not world class bats like Williamson & Taylor. WI also lack an effective keeper batsman.

I think Holder producing a big contribution in both departments is the only way I can see WI being competitive in Tests- and his output so far in his career has been nowhere near enough to swing a series.

I haven't checked the squad yet, particularly for WI, therefore it's a bit difficult to tell as their squad can vary from either polar ...

From the Test squad I see, I think they'll lose both Tests; but depending on players should win odd ODI, and probably favorite for T20 - may be we can revisit this thread couple of days before the 1st Test for better assessment.

NZ will whitewash WI.

Wont even be a contest IMO.

I do think the Windies will sneak in a test victory. They've got three decent fast bowlers in Joseph, Gabriel and Roach, along with a hit or miss bunch of batsman- a couple of whom are talented like Hetmyer, S. Hope and Chase. If they replace the dead wood in the form of Kyle Hope and find another solid middle order batsman they could form a team that can compete.

They already replace Kyle Hope with Sunil Ambris

Missed it. Just watched a small highlight package of his batting against Kent, seems very wristy and plays proper cricketing strokes. Can't make out anything regarding his technique or any flaws in his batting in a minute odd clip, but definitely looks better than K. Hope and the other dross that have donned the maroon in recent times.
