How would you compare Wahab Riaz's attitude in comparison with that of Mohammad Amir?

Both bowlers gave up on Test cricket for reasons of their own but I have found Wahab Riaz to be more flexible in his views on this than Amir.

Which is a sign of dedication in some ways as Wahab seems to be willing to help Pakistan if needed whilst Amir is very stubborn.

How would you rate their attitude towards helping Pakistan?

I think they are the same.

Amir had a very sensible deal with Inzamam: extend your career by not playing UAE matches which his style was not suited to.

It should still be honoured.

Wahab is getting a lot of kudos for his attitude - even if he doesnt ever play Tests for Pakistan, he will be seen to have been open to the idea and looked beyond himself.

wahab riaz played for 10 years, 2010-2020, he has done his time, played in uae or not uae, without complaining.
I mean he won us the game vs afghanistan, hit sixes of rashid khan with a broken finger, how dare you question his atitude?

He has risen to the occasion during 2011, 2015 and 2019 world cups and has given memorable performance's in all 3. That we lost each time is not his fault.

SO he wants to to play some franchise cricket? It is time the PCB looked towards the future, unless you plan to play wahab at the next world cup whenever or wherever it happens.

I am disappointed in Wahab's attitude more than Amir's.

Amir's is crystal clear. Wahab is muddled.

He should not have retired from test cricket because he gave other people's opinion of him greater weight than his own assessment of himself. Much rather have Misbah's attitude of being ready to burn his equipment than accept other opinions of him.

More importantly, I am disappointed that despite being so blessed with speed and fitness, he didn't kick on with his bowling or batting. Didn't learn new things in either despite both having very good platforms.

So yes, nice attitude to say I am available, but hey, I'd rather take someone who steps into the ground with bits between his teeth trying to prove himself.

Amir has opted out of the tour due to safety so unfair to compare. What would have been interesting is if Amir would have made himself available for tests had there been no covid.

TBF, Wahab has always been a pretty chilled out guy. Amir is naturally a fiery dude

Regardless of what you think of wahab's ability and intelligence, you can never question the effort he puts in. You simply can't say the same about the other.

Sometimes it's the advisors who have a big role to play with player's careers.

Of course, at times the advice the player's get isn't the best or made with the player's best interests at heart.

Amir body has broken down, Wahab hasn't.

Neither are obligated to play Tests if they don't have to. It's a personal choice and with where Amir's body and career is at, he has decided to prolong his career and not play it. Not sure why people can't simply just accept that and move on.

Skills, performances and other things aside since the 2010 fiasco Wahab wore his heart on his sleeve. He gave it his all in WC 2011 Semis, WC 2015 and played with a broken finger in the match against Afghanistan in WC 19 and now even being flexible enough to play tests for Pak despite being retired from that. People can question his ability and performances but he gave it his all more often than not. He ran in all day long on the UAE pitches and bowled with the pace much more than most bowlers around without complaining or raising issues of his workload management.

Though he could have made himself available for Aus tour and maybe took his retirement afterwards. Still at 34 years of age a bowler with his pace taking retirement from tests was understandable in my opinion.

Even now without being given a contract he is showing no attitude or any false ego that which many do and have been doing.

Dont worry, Amir will be back to the fore too as theres no domestic cricket happening. Its the $$$ they work for.

Wahab has always been that guy, he proved it in 2011 and 2015
Looks like he's got fire in his belly again

M amir has probably heard alot about Lockdown and wants to sit it out which he is entitled to do

Wahab is a warrior less skilled but damn he is that think the fire but M Amir is skilled but is lazy ah he just doesn't give a crap about being the best in world

Wahab is 34 years old. Always found it ridiculous that he was crucified for retiring from Test cricket at his age.

Wahab has hardly done anything in his career aside from one overrated spell vs. Australia 2015 and hitting a six of Rashid Khan. Dude has gotten way more chances than he deserved.

Why the kudos for Wahab?

He played the loyalty card as there was no sign of franchise cricket going around. We get fooled so easily!

As for Amir, his wife is pregnant so i dont see why he needs to travel to england for a mickey mouse T20 series. Its pandemic anyway.

Wahab was 33, and wasn't in the selectors plans(he hadn't played a test match for 10 months before he retired) when he announced his retirement. Nobody should fault him for becoming an LOI specialist.

Amir was 27, clearly in the selectors plans, yet he chose to retire from tests.

And now Wahab is making himself available if need be, even though he doesn't have to. Obviously he's gonna get credit.

Amir does not want to play international cricket anymore. He has not retired from white ball cricket yet out of “sharam”, but I bet he would not shed a tear if PCB tells him that he will not be selected again.

Playing for Pakistan and the pressure of international cricket are a burden for him. He wants to live a quiet life in the UK and play county and franchise cricket around the world.

Wahab wants to play for Pakistan and the passion is still there, but he knows he is getting old and he had to retire from Test cricket to maximize his white ball career and earnings from franchise cricket.

Wahab never gives up and is generally very charged up. Amir is not as mentally strong as Wahab.

However, Amir is more talented than Wahab.

I wonder if Wahab feels he has been forced into a corner to say he will be available for Tests in England.

Pakistan needed Wahab during the Australian tour in the test series. He would have been most effective there

Amir has realized that his body cannot take the rigors of international cricket anymore.

Furthermore, he knows he’s in enough demand to play strictly league cricket.

I think its more of the second one
