"I am not happy as the way our bowlers bowled in this game is not up to the mark" : Sarfaraz Ahmed

Sarfaraz Ahmed looking quite displeased at the post match presentation, understandable as we really should be beating teams like a depleted Zimbabwe in a more comfortable manner.

"I am not happy, the way the bowlers bowled is not up to the mark, we have to work out our bowling"

"Whenever our bowling concedes 160, it looks like a good batting pitch. Our start was very good but when two batsmen scores 40s, they have to finish the game"

"Big game tomorrow before the final, we have to take the opportunity to play positive cricket and take winning momentum into the final"

Feel bad for sarfaraz when bowlers cannot do basics right
.

But unfortunately batting is even much worse. If Fakhar and Malik fail we will not even score 80+ against any decent team.

Hasan Ali is still celebrating his birthday it seems

We deserved to lose for such a poor bowling performance and for batting without intent even against 2nd rate bowlers of a team inferior to Afghanistan even at full strength.

Batsmen allowed required rate to hover around 8-9 right uptill the 17th over, keeping Zimbabwe in the game right till the end

But we didn't, which IMO is the most important part. We have to look for each and every positive which will help us maintain our fearless mantra. The fact that we chased 160 odd with only 3 wickets going down is a good resemblance fo the direction that this Pakistan team is going

Our bowling needs to improve massively against the Aussies if we are to win the this tri-series. As for batting. It was good to see Hussain get some runs as for Fakhar he looked quite off. The pace isn't just settling for his liking in which I mean its not the pace of which he is comfortable in. Hopefully that changes against the Aussies. Good to see Haris given a go, hopefully his stability gives assurances up top.

Not sure why he’s complaining about the bowling Teams are expected to post 160+ runs in t20s Considering the performance in the last game it’s Pakistan’s batting that isn’t up to the mark not their bowling

i always wonder why pakistani players criticise the team in public in such a way.

look how sarafaraz told, "i am not happy with the way the bowlers bowled."

look how other skippers would have said, "we couldn't live upto the standard in the bowling."

the underlined meaning is same. But on the former, you are alienating the bowlers from you and on the latter, you are incorporating yourself among the unit that has failed.

this creates a big difference. My boss can scold me whatever way he wants in private but i wouldn't be happy if he will scold the same way in public. It creates distance.

Doesn't matter as long as his strategy works

Ganguly openly criticized Azhar and Jadeja in the press conference after his appointment as captain.

Ponting also did the same on many occasions.

As long as he is captaining well we have no issue

Hassan Ali seems to be going through a rough patch. Hopefully he gets through it asap.

this statement proves that our winning strategies rely heavily on bowlers. Its a batting track and our batsmen need to step up. We need explosive opener like Farhan to utilize the powerplay. Also players like Malik should play an anchor role against big teams.
The problem in the match against Aussies was the dot balls and that has been the problem since forever, what is the point of saving wickets when you keep ticking the scoreboard, its just 120 balls in total.

A lot of captains these days do it. Kohli has done it as well in the IPL and even whilst captaining the Indian team IIRC.
