Exactly the competition is getting tougher and tougher and this will encourage them to perform every game otherwise they'll get replaced. This is a major move forward, I think we won't create any Shehzads and Akmals now because none of them can take their place for granted.

I loved Azhar's innings but bear in mind this was flat belter of a pitch with no demons in it and no collapse early on so that Azhar was to able to play freely but with one wicket down we might see Azhar in his shell and that won't be good for the team considering modern approach that go hard no matter what and I think the team I mentioned has the ability to play Englandesque game!!

Current news is that Sharjeel might get a six month ban for not reporting but there's nothing against him that can prove that he actually spot fixed!

Agha Salman will be gold if he works 3-4 weeks with Saqlain at NCA. He can match the Bengali spinner Miraz. He is excellent athlete, fielder and batsman too.


Other than him I saw an offie Daneyaal in Ramzan T20 match highlights he looked good.


Agha could be an upgrade over Hafeez. Adil Amin is there too but I rate Agha Salman. Needs polishing/finishing. Saqi needed.

Anyone closer to Haffez is a blessing as an off spinner plus if this guy can bat as well I'd use him with Faheem and we'll be able to create a perfect team after Malik and Hafeez

Agree but I won't induct him him polishing his skills. Some technical adjustments in pivot and action needed so that He gets more purchase on his Offie. I don't think Haris Khan or Tauseef Ahmed are capable enough as Coaches so I want Saqlain or Arshad Khan. Arshad is abroad so PCB should hire Saqlain for few weeks. He knows alot about Offspin Art. He knows the science of it too hence WI, BD, NZ, End hired him as consultant. We must use him. Currently it's off season and he is in pak. Mushtaq & Mudassar should request Saqlain.

I think Azhar would be even more useful on a green wicket, but these days that's barely even an issue as the vast majority of pitches around the world are phattas.

I don't think Azhar is the finished article yet, far from it. But if we keep him in the side and he works on improving his SR i think he could be a very accomplished LOI opener by 2019. If he starts failing or continues to bat too slowly then i like your team.
 
Is there room for Hussain Talat and Faheem Ashraf in the same team?

How does Aamer Yamin compare to these two?

Do not consider Ramzan cup performances. Pitches in all tournaments so far are extremely poor (not even suitable for women cricket).

Any info about hassan mohsin? Where is he these days? Kid was absolute sensational in U19 WC.

I agree Azhar's continued inclusion in ODIs depends in part on him increasing his strike-rate to around 85. The other factor is the rest of the batting will have to be composed of aggressive batsmen- my concern at the moment is Azhar and Babar seem to be fulfilling the same role.

Only other thing I would add is that he will be 34 by the time the 2019 WC begins, so if he doesn't make progress quickly then we should be willing to look elsewhere.
 
He hasn't really done anything to light up the domestic scene. Needs to justify his selections. He should be in the next T20 squad but no room for him in ODI's

Was the best performing batsmen in list a before the psl and was good on the psl itself

Form has dropped a bit but you have to look at the attributes a player has and his overall performances as well.

In Talat I see a young kid who can hit big and rotate strike, how many pak players can say that?

Nope. Haven't seen him after PSL.
 
This tournament in isolation means little but it does underscore that Talat is one of the few modern batsmen in Pakistan, ie big hitter against pace and spin, yet can still rotate strike and is relatively fit.

I personally feel he is needed in the limited overs side right now, batting at 6. Not his natural position, but he has the skills to adapt to it imo

Precisely. Should play as a specialist batsman for now, whilst Azhar works with him on his bowling.

Bring Haris in for Hafeez, bring Talat in for Malik and make Sarfaraz bat five.
 
Pakistan batting prospects are looking good with Hussain Talat, Ruhail Nazir, Zeeshan Malik, Saif Badar, Sahibzada Farhan, with all of them aging around 20.

I think Pakistan's next A tour is vs Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe at the end of this year. Want to see the A team for that series consisting of players like: Sahibzada Farhan, Zeeshan Malik, Ruhail Nazir, Saif Badar, Hussain Talat, Shaheen Afridi and Saad Ali.
 
He's much better than Faheem. Needs to backed. I see him as our future Test no. 6 and 5th bowler.

He has the ability to make it as a batsman alone, especially in limited overs

I see Faheem as a slogger who can be useful down the order. Talat is a proper batsman, he should aim to be a part of the Pakistan team in all formats.

You know I support both of them, and I agree they have different roles to play, but I think calling Faheem a "slogger" is a little harsh.

Fahim has real potential with the bat, it just needs harnessing. Just take a look at his helicopter shot- not many people who can play that shot.

He can become an allrounder but he isn't an allrounder right now by any stretch of the imagination. At best you can get 3-4 overs out of him. More a filler's role than a genuine bowler.

Like how he gives himself room in playing some of his shots. Uses the crease well and looks a dynamic batsman suited to playing the modern way.

Haven't seen much of him batting against spin but he dealt with the pacers quite well there.

Whoever negotiates well against a spinner here can be called above-average.

Talat was better than the last game, but still not up to the mark. He started slow capitalized on pacers' overs and gave it away again in the end. Again outrageous field setting, no third man or fine leg also helped Talat.
Sohaib Maqsood, Farhan and Asif Ali innings were much more convincing as they played shots in every over, around the park. OK performance by Talat not thekind we expect from him and have seen him in previous years. Rate him more than a Babar Azam only, which is'nt something remarkable.

Maybe that is why you are hating on Talat.

Hehehe I like both of them and wish to see both in the team.

Its ludicrous to compare Hammad and Talat, nowhere they are competing for the same batting position.

I'm just giving my opinion, in the 2 matches I saw Talat has been off-colour this eason not improvising against spinners or finishing well for the team.
HE has improved hoping he continues to improve and plays his natural game which we have seen him previously.

On that we can agree. But that doesn't detract from the fact your post was rather uncharitable.

Talat is a proper batsman. He an take a few balls to settle in, but he is a positive stroke maker and has a good cricketing brain and once set he clears the boundary with ease and is a very innovative batsman.

I agree he hasn't been at his best this season, but consider this: if an out of form Talat can hit a 26 ball 43, what do you think an in-form Talat can do?

He needs to be groomed for WC19- great prospect. His bowling is a bonus and it is also coming along nicely.

This is onne player who I will be keeping an eye on the PSL. He seems to be a batsmen who can bat the modern way and also offers a seam bowling opition.

Hoping he has a good PSL which could elevate him to national selection.

Rate him highly. Hopefully will soon play for Pakistan. I want to see him opening in odis now that there is no Sharjeel.
Pakistan is lucky to have 3 good fast bowling allrounders in Faheem , Yamin and Talat.
 
My fear is regardless of how well he does, Talat will be on the bench and Chacha Ifiti in the 11 come the start of PSL

I said "good." Context is everything. His team won by a narrow margin of 3 runs and he contributed with both bat and ball; he was the second highest scorer for his side and the most economical bowler. Considering both sides batted at around 8.5 RPO, to return with an ER of 6.50 from four overs is a decent effort.

Not saying it was spectacular- just good.

Great talent. Glad to see he's doing well after being messed around with during the FC season.
 
Hopefully Talat and Fahim can compete for the pace all-rounder spot for Tests outside Asia. A good problem to have.

I think he will do better as an opener :) No 6 is too low for a batsman of his caliber.

Btw I dont like comparisons but If there is guy who matches Kohli in Pakistan, its Hussain Talat. Not talking about records but the way how he plays, the areas he score and his nature. Like Kohli bowls medium pace and resemble him in features too. I saw a young Kohli and both have remblance. Lets see how far Talat can go, and has to play selflessly like Kohli who is one of the most selfless player around among Asian teams right now.
 
One thing I don't like [it's a minor issue] about the current crop of players is they seem to think reaching a fifty is the ultimate accomplishment.

The helmet comes off, the bat is risen as if they've just slayed Skeletor and his minions and thus await the accolades of their frothing teammates.

I remember Sharjeel doing the same, and I genuinely cringed.
