You win cups with best players, especially against pace.
Most alternatives are significantly poor so your logic does not make sense.
Only few have potential who are not competing for Kami s spot.. Hussain Talat and Farhan.

I simply love how Kamran shut this guy up.![]()
We ve seen this sort of thing many times before from kami every now and then
The problem is theres nothing in between for several games Also hes a liability in the field Move on
We would simply love if Kamran would shut us up when he inevitably fails every single time playing international cricket.
You're by far one of the worst posters on PP. Onto my ignore list my chap!
He's a game changer, should be considered. Fakhar and Kamran opening could be brutal. Even if one of them stays on till late in the innings it can change the landscape of the game.
I have posted it before in the match thread that the way in which Kamran Akmal got out today shows that he has not worked on his weakness. He has given his wicket in that same zone many times.
International teams usually do their homework and this the reason why he has failed so many times at international level while performing consistently in domestics.
Not a fan of Kamran Akmal but have to give him credit on how he responded to Mickey Arthur. His brother should learn from him.
How about Farhan opening with Fakhar ?
He never performed consistently in domestics until recent years. Look at his domestic averages, they're nothing special despite Kamran literally raining in the runs in the last few years.
It took Kamran to be dropped virtually for good for him to develop the drive to work upon himself and propel him to these heights even in domestic.
It's irritating as hell it has taken so long. He was hard done by in his last outing, only given a few chances, and quite frankly if he was given more, he might have succeeded. It takes time to readjust to internationals for many, one tour isn't a lot. Kamran himself was having a bad PSL until a few matches ago.
The issue is he has is his extensive past failing, we're talking near 300 games worth of international experience here, his age, his poor fielding, his poor fitness (which may lead to injury), the fact he's competition to our own captain, Sarfraz. So many, and Kamran's got so little time to get good at internationals, we can't wait around for 1 or 2 years like a youngster.
I have in do doubt in my mind Kamran has improved. You can't perform like this without doing so. It's just it's arguably too late. Begrudgingly I'd play him, there's no one else who is hitting with the same power game and the consistency as he is in domestic (except Fakhar). And with Sharjeel banned, Umar gone and lost form, there is little competition. Along with Talat he's pretty much the only one who has competed at he same level or better than the guys in the international team already.
After the world cups are done (T20 and ODI), he should be gone, but we can get some mileage out of him till then hopefully).
Doesnt matter what Micky sb thinks about Kami. The fact of the matter is that hes our best T20 batsman currently and he has proved it with consistent performences in all 3 PSL seasons. I dont think hes fit enough for ODIs but definately a starter for our T20 XI and deserves to be in the team ahead of players like Sarfraz, Babar, Hafeez, Shahzad.
Sarfraz himself drops sitters or misses easy stumping chances so thats not a good excuse for keeping Kamran out. As far as age is concerned, well if Misbah can lead Pakistan at 40 in a world cup and play till 42/43 , why cant anyone else? Dont agree with the part the hes useless at intl level. Has he been given as many chances as Shahzad or Hafeez in the recent past? Even Malik was given continous chances by Misbah at one stage when he was failing badly.
Reh gai fielding, to wo improve ki ja sakti hai. Its not smth which cant be worked at.
International teams will work him out. Infact they already did that. Place a fielder at deep point and keep short third man a bit wider. Tell your right arm pacer to bowl wide of stumps at short of good length. He will slice cut short and will throw his wicket away. Both Akmals have done this many times.
WK with Sarfraz out of the T20I team forever; thats the only way it may workEven with this performance, Kamran is a liability for Pak's LOI team. He is hit and miss. International team will take 6 balls to dismiss him every time. Also, where will he field?

There's a lot of hate for Kamran here and justifiably so. He made us Pakistani fans suffer for years and years with horrific performances with both bat and gloves.
However, if there is one thing which I believe in, it's rewarding performance. When Kamran performs like this and surpasses every other Pakistani in the tournament, he deserves selection. To select a failure like Shehzad for nothing more than his 'age' is to make a huge mistake. So put all your biases to one side and act fairly.

Oh cmon. He smashed a few half pitched dollies. Did everybody forget Kakmal and how terrible he was? It's as if he is waging a lone battle. He isn't. He smashed a few bad balls over the tiniest boundary. Watch a few Kakmal videos on YouTube and you'll feel fine.
