"I think IPL is better than the World Cup" : AB de Villiers

I am trying to get just one ticket for tomorrow's opener CSK vs RCB. In black market, the ticket I want goes for Rs.35k (Pakistan rupees 1.2 lakhs). The craze is unreal.
 
IPL is better than the World Cup? That is why AB de Villiers chose to excel at IPL and never won the World Cup for his country because he knew, IPL was better than World Cup so why win it.

It’s respect.
They all tried and were star players. This is a team sport and and it’s about getting so many things right. I’m glad Vieat has this decency and awareness. He’s been a religious man for a while.

This is all about paisa, they know they have to be on the right side of the Indians to further encash the dough the Indian economy can offer them. They would not have shown this kind of loyalty to other leagues.

Ok. So? An organization has paid them millions of $$$ over the years due to which they are set for life (hopefully unless they screw it up) , They are treated extremely well as being ex players. I would be more concerned about their moral character if they had no loyalty. What’s the problem here?

I have no problem, i just find it unfair and characterless for them to be basking in the glory of RCB's IPL title win when they had absolutely nothing to do with it.

IPL cannot be better than a World Cup. IPL is a junk domestic T20 tournament. World Cup is a global event.

ABD was trying to preserve his IPL contract probably. :inti

World cup is more junk with junk teams like Pakistan, Bangladesh and srilanka playing..over years we have only seen poor quality of cricket from these teams..it's always India, Australia and Nz who performed consistently over the years..many teams just act as fillers and there is no competition between top 3 teams and other teams..IPL has all best players from across the world scattered across 10 teams along with Indian talents which makes it more interesting..the Local rivalries b/n Chennai and Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore, Mumbai and Bangalore are more spicy than India and Pakistan considering Pakistan team is just another minnows right now..FYI AB retired from cricket and not playing IPL..
 
I truly admire the camaradie that Virat Kohli shares with AB de Villiers and how much did winning an IPL trophy meant to them. Virat knows during their playing time that they did their best possible to try and lift the trophy even though it didn’t came off.

it is great to see that ABD’s loyalty and support towards RCB has finally prevailed above all and Virat acknowledges that love and celebration with ABD that he wished it was when they were playing together. :vk :ab
 
Ab could not do it as a player but he can definitely be present with the RCB squad to enjoy their maiden title win...

But IPL is better than WC??? LOL

He could not win both so ignore his statement.

There is no other league even remotely close to IPL’s level.
