Last time in 2013 most of the games were disturbed by the rain and it looks like same thing will happen this time around.

India-Pakistan game may well wash out, there is 61 percent chance of rain.:inti
 
Highly doubt any forecast this far in advance will be particularly accurate.
 
40% of the games will be washed out, mark my damn words, as this thread goes on and on everyone will be quoting me.

Absoloute mess by ICC.

In the last 10 years only 4 out of 72 (5.5%) limited overs international matches in England in June have been washed out.

For your prediction to be true you'd need 6 to be washed out this June alone, good luck with that.
 
Trying to predict the weather 2 days in advance is a tough job in England never mind 2 weeks.

Also a 61% chance of rain could mean that there is a 61% chance it will rain for 5 minutes for all we know.

Its quite frustrating when you have such important tournament played in rainy conditions, i really don't understand why ICC is persistent to English conditions...

i dont see 50 overs match between Pak vs Ind :kp
 
I am flabbergasted as to why a cricket tournament can ever be held in England. It always rains and makes no sense!!!

Such a stupid place to have a cricket tournament.

Weather forecasts show that it will rain the whole day for the India vs Pak match.

Can't believe the next world cup is in England too what a waste

Most forecasts currently have Sunday as a cool sunny day with a bit if cloud around.
 
weather forecast on 4th june not look good either same like last champion trophy match .why this tournament happen again in england .
 
The best way for Pakistani to beat India is for the game to be interrupted by rain and the number of overs to be reduced

Be thankful for the bad English weather
 
It was the same last time as well.Final reduced to mere 20 overs.What's the point in conducting two successive CTs at the same place, Why not have the tournament at some different venue?
 
Most forecasts beyond 2-3 days have great degree of inaccuracy in them.

I remember this past winter we had a severe snow storm warning for Toronto a week in advance, the entire city was in a state of lockdown. The public transport system was making alternate measure to not effect service during the impending bad weather. People were working from home and stocking up on groceries. In the end all we got was some mild flurries :facepalm:
 
Well it could help Pakistan's cause. But seriously, I know weather is not good in England but it is a major country and you can't not host tournaments there just cos of the rain. They just need to have better measures in place to minimise the impact of the rain

A cricket tournament should never happen in England.

Didn't watch the last champions trophy but if it's true that it was reduced to a t20 then it's a joke.
 
I just hope this whole tournament gets COMPLETELY washed out... all the group stage games, all the semi finals, even the final.. that will probably put a end to the monopoly England has in hosting world cups and big tournaments.. the 2019 World Cup host should be replaced to india or South Africa or even Bangladesh.... enough of stupid England ICC superiority

Yes it's a disgrace that England get this monopoly on ICC events. Let's remove this monopoly by giving India their 5th major mens ICC event in 12 years instead.
 
This year's champions trophy is a gonna be complete flop to be honest..... ICC cares only about the money (they WONT refund you for time wasted and no play in a 6 hour wash out if you buy a ticket)... looking at the forecast for the weather for the PAK-IND Match, it looks like that the money of 20,000 fans will go to complete waste (tickets costing upwards of 100-500 GBP)... and more and more matches to go as well.

Ticket prices ranged for £30 to £80 for adults and £5 for kids and if it is completely washed out as you claimed then everyone gets a full refund.

The reason it's being held in England again is because it was a huge success. All matches had good crowds with most being sold out. If it took place in India , Aus or SA you would see empty seats in most games.

Weather can never be predicted but Im sure we will still have a good tournament.

Given your regular cricket ground probably has a playing area 2-3x the size of your standard football ground I'm not too sure of the feasibility of that from an economic or engineering point of view...

Weather last week was brilliant, forecast a couple of days can be inaccurate let's see what happens. Hopefully the games aren't disrupted by bad weather.

now it says its going to be sunny on sunday for pakvsind game. 20 percent chance of rain. it keeps on changing man. people living there will have a better say in this

English weather is incredibly unpredictable.

I wouldn't bother looking at forecasts until the day before.
 
How is the prediction for the South Africa game on the 7th? Might be in The UK for that one...
 
Lol, yesterday weather stated its sunny for pakvsind today it says its gona rain. Like wth. Btw isnt azhar ali banned for one game?
 
Raining on Sunday from 3am to 7 pm so basically the whole day is washed out according to the latest weather predictions. Still think it's an absurd decision to play any cricket tournament in England.

If you must play in England then why not August instead of June?

How come on weather.com it says it will rain from 10 am which is game time. When u google it, you'll see it right away But met office is saying otherwise. Which one to trust?
 
Yeah it says it will rain but diff forecasts has diff predictions. It better not rain man

You sure you're looking at the right place? Otherwise I'd he recommending an eyesight check...

The forecast is now the best it's been over the last few days with the chance of rain decreasing.
 
Met Office are saying there is 30%-40% chance of rain which isn't ridiculously high enough to assume that the game will be a washout and the icon is not the dark cloud with a raindrop and instead is the light cloud with the sun and the raindrop so even if it does rain, it may not be enough to hugely affect the match. We may see a few overs lost or if we're lucky we may see no overs lost and see an incredible game of cricket.

[MENTION=136255]MachoKhan[/MENTION] They're normally accurate and probably the most trusted source for weather forecasts in the UK as they're run by the government but you never know that they'll be 100% correct because it is the UK. I would prioritise their predictions over anyone else's. We'll get a more accurate forecast on Friday or Saturday.
 
According to weather.com the most rainy day in Birmingham over the next 10 days will be the day of the India vs pak match
 
They're predicting sporadic rain on Sunday.

That shouldn't stop the match for long periods if at all.
 
Met office is the only one that says it will not rain much. Most of the forecast are stating rain will start at 1 pm game begins at 10 30. So we will see some cricket if not all

At the time of posting it said 10% with no rain icon but they must have changed it back to their original forecast of 40%.
 
The forecast seems to be getting worse. There should definitely be a reserve day for such an awaited match.

If you got your ticket through an official source then it's a full refund if less than 15 overs are bowled.
