ICC Champions Trophy - Weather Watch

my friend is in the uk and he tells me the weather is clear so it will be full match perfoam without the delay it will be good game very excited

I was at QE hospital Birmingham last year and believe me the weather is quite unpredictable. The forecast in the Aus NZ was 40% chance of rain and the match was washed out. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Let me call my friend living in Edgbaston about the weather there

It's nice & bright in Birmingham. Match will start on time , even the forecast says this . Rain is expected to arrive late afternoon, how heavy & how persistent only god knows .

The weather at the moment is holding good. Sunny but with scattered clouds. Showers are expected two hours into the game. He is preparing for the game. Has two daughters doing face painting and stuff. Real carnival atmosphere expected. I watched the Eng Pak Test match last year with him. Wish I was there too

Just checked the forecast and the weather has gotten much worse since the last time I checked. I think it may be abandoned

Weather forecast is cloudy although we may get some lightning/thunder around 3pm . I am hopeful for a full 50 overs today without any stoppage.

Met office was showing rain at 12pm and then heavier rain after 4pm. This was when I checked it about an hour ago

Relax the sun is out over the ground with a few clouds . Rain is expected later on but we should get a completed game .

Match will start on time. I think the team batting second cannot face more than 10 overs. It forecasts like showers in the afternoon. So expecting rain at around 3pm and last for 2-3hrs.

There will be showers. Not persistent rain. We will see 2 hours of the game gone for sure.

Birmingham always has unsettled weather. What a stupid decision to host the game there, should have done it in London.

India should bowl first as Pakistan can be shot out in less than 50 overs thus giving them more time.

Toss becomes important now. If weather forecast is correct, India will have to bowl first or we won't have a result.

uberkoen what abt before 3 pm? U think we getting results out of it tdy

Chances of rain around 2 at about 40% and then around 4 at about 40% as well. After that it's fine.

Think worst case scenario is we get about 2 hours of rain.

Vice versa

i'm not trolling. pakistan has a habit of getting bowled out before the allocated overs. ct 2013, asia cup 2016 etc. i cant even remember the last time pakistan bundled india out before allocated overs.

There is a 1st time for everything. :misbah4

the sun is out who 1st inns batting will be easy, 2nd inns after the rain arrives both bowling will be difficult with the wet ball... it seems the cloud cover will be there just before the rain which is where the 2nd inns will start then new ball will dictate terms...altogether batting 2nd will be difficult in this match with a total to chase in high profile match afaik...

Morning everyone. Hoping we get an Indo-Pak match that goes down to the wire, recent contests have one sided.

Any PPer from the stadium/near it? How's it looking, will it rain again in the afternoon?

Hate that we can never have proper matches in England, and ODI is specifically designed for a complete day and need at least entire day.

London Forecast:

Headline:
Cloudy with rain overnight. Windy with scattered showers on Tuesday.

This Evening and Tonight:

Cloudy, wet and increasingly windy during the evening, with gales possible in southern coastal districts for a time. Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, continuing through the night with winds easing for a time. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

In the last 10 years only 4 out of 72 (5.5%) limited overs international matches in England in June have been washed out.

For your prediction to be true you'd need 6 to be washed out this June alone, good luck with that.

2 down...

So far it's been awful.

3 games called off?

Didn't the final a few years ago also have some overs reduced.

I don't know but for me, when overs start getting reduced, it ruins the whole game.
But that's just me being a fuss pot.

Whose idea was it to have two consecutive CTs in this God forsaken place?

Pakistan toured England last summer in July-August and there was hardly any rain interruptions.

Scheduling a tournament in UK in early June is asking for trouble. Late June-mid July is your best bet.

The rain will come soon and will be on and off for a good few hours. But in between the rain I think there should be plenty time to get 20 overs in.

This is bad for Pakistan

Rain expected for SRL-PAK match.

An SRL win here means if the rain washes out the game vs SRL, we are out!

It's forecast to be 30c on Sunday.

One of the hottest days this year in England.

I don't think it will rain looking at the forecast.

Going to be boiling on Sunday with temperatures expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius.

Which begs the question I raised earlier - now, i.e. mid-June, would've been the perfect time to begin this CT in England !

Weather tends to pick up around this time, playing in early June is always asking for trouble.

Any chance we won't get rain tomorrow?

Stunning weather in north London today hopefully it stays that way at the Oval tomorrow.
