It boggles my mind Pakistan doesn't have Sarfraz open the inning. It's such an easy solution and you don't have to use a scrub like Shehzad or Azhar and can instead have Haris Sohail bat in the middle of the inning who so far, has shown to be very good. In 9 career innings, Sarfraz has a 43 average when opening the innings and has one of his two centuries from there as well. He is good at rotating the strike and finding gaps which is perfect with the 1st powerplay.

It's such a simple solution and yet Pakistan persists with awful choices like Kamran Akmal, Shehzad, Azhar etc...
 
Thes rubbish slogs are all azhar can do. Let's see him do it against good bowling.
 
Need plenty more of those to make up for the carnage you have already caused Azhar. Still at a strike rate of 30. No point in a boundary and countless dots.

Lol at Azhar, he only has two gears, tuk-tuk and slog, nothing in between, should look to rotate strike but to be fair to him its beyond his ability, doesn't have the skill-set to become a good ODI batsman.

I have cited these same statistics and suggestions before. It needs to be done but it isn't. He helped rejuvenate Pakistan in the 2015 world cup yet we don't play him.
 
This might be an actual plan by the Lankans to not get Azhar out.
 
Imagine if you will a line up there Azhar and Shehzad open followed shortly Hafeez.
I shudder thinking that happened two games ago

Shehzad can actually hit boundaries, he's just incapable of rotating strike. If he had more intent, he could have been able to like them hack type batsmen that only deal with boundaries. Which while not amazing, as they don't rotate strike, is far superior to the horror show we have with current Shehzad and Azhar. With Azhar, he just doesn't have it in him to hit the ball around, nor rotate teh strike.

Azhar needs to cut with conviction rather twisting his wrist, he should have a full go
 
Fakhar: refined version of Awais Zia, but I will take it in a top-order of Azhar, Babar and Hafeez.

lol shehzad, he is one of the most selfish players ever, at least azhar isn't selfish, he just has no skill

Right now he is looking like second coming of Brian Lara infront of Sir Azhar.

Not good. Smashing innocuous trundlers will only guarantee him a spot in important games.
 
If Hafeez and Azhar play together for 20 overs we will loose this match.
 
Only time Azhar looks like taking a single is when the ball is pitched on his pads to guide it to the leg side for a single.
WTH :O What has suddenly gotten into him? Can't believe my eyes.
