Why dhoni keeps getting picked is beyond me, nice of dhawan to stop being selfish and getting a boundary atlast.
 
India will struggle to score 300 barring another crazy cameo by Pandya or Jadhav.

So now there is a method to loss of ability is it, the man is done. Use the same anology for those who defend him and it makes more sense, dhoni supporters need to start supporting india rather than dhoni.

The last sentence is true irrespective of dhoni scores or not today. Lately Dhoni fans support dhoni more than team.

If the adopted the Aussie way of going hard from ball 1, I think 400 would have been a possibility.

No. Our batsman need some time to get going. They would have thrown away wicket with Aussie approach. Missing Sehwag and Gambhir at the top.

He's still a worthy middle order selection on his batting alone. And his all-world keeping and game insights come as a bonus.

Sure, he's nowhere near what he was at his peak, and everyone wants to see him score at 2 runs a ball as soon as he gets in - but in ODIs, at #4/5, Indian team can afford to give him a bit of time to get his eye in. And he's likely to succeed more often than not. Problem is, fickle fans want to see "new" and fashionable names come in instead of him. I would say to those fans, first understand team needs rather than putting your selfish and immature desires ahead of the team.

India easily have the batting depth to make sure a couple of early wickets don't take them out of the match.

That may very well be, but they have a couple batsmen who are dangerous and if it is their day they can do damage. Dickwella, Chandimal, Matthews and Mendis are all good bats. Remember they were 100+ for the loss of just 1 wicket against SA in just 12-14 overs.
 
India has reached their peak, and they will make the semi finals, when they play the semi finals, than we will see what happens :P

Yes. They have good batting. You missed out on Gunaratne's name. He too looks promising for shorter formats.

Dhawan and Sharma are following the plan of the Management,Sehwag could never understand that,but it's better to have consistency.
 
Good innings but looked like he was stuck on 1 shot in last few balls.

SL need to stop these wide deliveries, whoever thought of this plan clearly did not take into consideration the bowler's ability to deliver them

Indians should realize that Dhoni is their equivalent of IK (maybe even bigger) and they need to give the man the respect he deserves.
