We all know what happened during the 2nd Test in Sydney back during India's tour of Aus in 2008. Anyone having doubts about it, please watch the video on YT.

Opinions do differ. I was very pleased with Steve Bucknor being replaced by Billy Bowden for the 3rd Test. Do you think that replacing Bucknor was a right decision?

P.S. The whole cricketing world spoke out that CA bowed down to the BCCI, back then.

Probably the worst test with regards to neutral umpiring.

Let's face it - the umpiring was terrible.

Bucknor had to sit out on merit alone.

He was treated poorly and it was clearly a case of BCCI bullying

There was a lot of name calling and badtameezi which I didn't like

ICC should be consistent. I still see dharamsena umpiring after some shocking decisions given by him in the last couple of series. Bucknor was bullied by BCCI though.

Getting rid of him was the right decision.

The over the top and massive carry on by the Indian team and Kumble was ridiculous.

The way he umpired, he really should have taken a break.

Personally, it felt bad at that time a bit that he was unceremoniously replaced, but majorly looked an obvious thing. And now, after all these years, there is no doubt that it was indeed the right thing to do.
