ICC World Cup 2023: Biggest run chase in 48 years of World Cup history - Was this Pakistan's best ever game in ODIs?

Myths broken today :-
1. Pakistan can't chase big scores
2. Pakistan can't win when 2/3 top order fails
3. Pakistan can't win when Babar Azam doesn't score
4. Pakistan can't play modern cricket
5. Pakistan's bowling is the best in the world

Genuine question

How is 2 applicable? Abdullah and rizzu are top order and they scored centuries, that's 50% of the top order functioning, 75% of the top order didn't fail lol.

Secondly who on earth claimed the 3rd one? When fakhar scored those 114 and 180 babar was vanished, same with saud 200 in tests lol.

Rizwan bats at 4. No. 4 is a middle order positon not top order.

It's one of the greatest wins for sure, but as the goat win of Pak history? No, not even close. The ct final will always be the popular choice. Even in world cups, there are several others which should be ranked higher considering opposition strength & context :
92 semifinal for obvious reasons
11 against Aus because that broke the twelve year long streak & brought the juggernauts onto their knees which then Ind took full advantage of
15 in a must win situation against SA because on paper that was considered as the most dynamic SA side ever with almost entire xi in their prime, Pak with an ordinary batting lineup & subpar bowling attack did the unthinkable
19 against an invincible Eng who had some sort of winning streak going against Pak for prior 4 years. After such humiliation against WI normal expectation was to get even a bigger humiliation. Pak not only prevailed but the way they won was an ultimate statement.
It's a terrific chase led by two outstanding innings of highest quality. However considering how ordinary the opposition is in general & the fact that Pak had their worst ever bowling on display along with pisspoor abysmal fielding there's no way this win can be attributed as the best ever. I didn't even consider non icc tournament wins otherwise there were many more significant victories (Javed sixer which started an era of almost two decade long domination).

Good run chase but that Sri Lankan bowling lineup was terrible. Probably amongst the worst in their history.
It still takes a lot for batters to chase 340+ after being 2 down for 37 something..so credit to the 2 centurions.

However you are spot on. The bowling was average and erratic ( too many loose balls and 25 extras).
Then the fielding was trying to compete with the bowling in trying to prove we suck equally ( 3 catches in 5 minutes) overall 5 catches dropped iirc.

The best ODI ever was Pakistan’s high score in a chase:

They scored 361/7 (50.0) chasing 374. against eventual World Cup Champions England @ Southampton, UK on 11th May 2019.

A full strength English squad consisting of many of the current champions on their home turf.

I don’t need to mention who was the captain on that day. But I will mention that Pakistan lost by 12 runs due to a selfish slow 51 by a particular batsman.
