It's an extremely selfish knock. Classic sub continental knock. Playing for milestones. Lucky for him India's bowling is good.
Will be funny If he plays for his 100 in a semi and costs his team which he very well can.

also bats weren't tree trunks, bigger boundaries, more reverse swing, no PPs...

both great players but tendulkar was a class apart

From what i have seen, the pitch becomes really slow when ball gets old. We need to wait till SA bats before concluding anything. Kholi's innings might be the difference between the two teams, one way or the other.
 
Babar had been criticized heavily if he would have scored century in similar situation
 
This is a tough track to bat. Only time will tell whether this is a great anchor innings or a selfish one. Let South Africa bat.

He's got the same amount in nearly 200 innings less.

Quality attacks or not, he can only play those put in front of him and he's put them all to the sword.

Yes but player should be compared with the other player of that particular era. Kohli will be compared with smith, root, williamson and he is clearly beat everyone. Its not kohli mistake if he didnt have a luxury to face wasim, murali and mcgrath.

Worse century than rameez raja’s 1992 v West Indies. I’d drop Kohli for next match for playing for himself his lucky I’m not his captain.
 
Insane IpL has really helped Indian cricket infact took it to another level, shame the revolutionary Lalit Modi was not given his recognition should have his statue outside BCCI HQ

Lol this Marco Jansen is so overrated. No wonder he has average of 35 in ODIs with economy of over 6.50. Awful overrated trundler this Marco jansen.

Yes individually they were great but remember this era is batsman friendly era bro. Bowlers in my opinion are better now compared to back then barring wasim, mcgrath and Ambrose. Those 3 will be great anywhere.

Huge shoaib fan but I really believe he would struggle a bit in this era. Maybe 27 average.

I disagree.

Unlike odi where 2 new balls have made it easy, test format is the same with one red ball and old test rules.

Kohli averages slightly lower in test with weaker bowlers then what Sachin faced.

If kohli played in the old era I'd imagine he'd have around 40 centuries and would be around average of 41.

I rate kohli slightly > Pointing though.

Not true. India has never won a world cup since inception of IPL.
These guys are all seasoned First class cricketers
 
Ngidi and Jansen have been very poor today
 
These era comparisons are futile.

There's nothing to say any of the 90s greats would have gotten away with similar bowling records in the modern game.
 
Marco Jansen is a poor bowler that's why he has average of 31.50 over economy of 6.30.

He is really really poor and so so poor.
