Abdullah is fixed at one end, and he is right hander - so the other opener should be one from Imam, Sami, FZ or Masood. Saim is the youngest & imam is nephew, other two are in their mid 30s, no way should be considered when the next WC is 3.5 years away. They will probably axe Fakhar for Saim but Imam will still hang around. And then there is Sham Masood as well! But pressure is surely building with Saim's consistent performances.
I have seen him before he gets criticised then plays with right aporoach and play one odd knock then go back to his old approachInshallah he’ll be more positive going forward, sometimes it takes some failure to make you course correct and be better than ever
Been a weird tournament so far.. it doesn’t seem likes he’s out of form. He’s been middling it, but hitting it straight to fielders.I have seen him before he gets criticised then plays with right aporoach and play one odd knock then go back to his old approach
looks like he needs constant criticism to keep him up
against pacers he has looked flawless its the spinners that are troubling himBeen a weird tournament so far.. it doesn’t seem likes he’s out of form. He’s been middling it, but hitting it straight to fielders.
No he's OK it's just a made up injury so the neptotistic selector can play his nephew in the playing xi everyone knows this guy is worse than hafeez against any decent pace and can't play short ball to save his life yet he's been forced into the team . All he does is play his selfish innings to pad up his stats a glorified minnow basher. Is Fakhar still sick?
Afghanistan bowling all right, not tight enough and Pakistan have taken advantage of the opportunities. The pitch is a bit slow and will definitely get slower as the day goes on though, second innings will spinHaven't seen the match live. Most of the Pakistani experts on TV were crying about the pitch but Pakistan seems to be doing well. Is thepitch decent for batting or are AFG bowling badly?
It was good batting by AbdullahHaven't seen the match live. Most of the Pakistani experts on TV were crying about the pitch but Pakistan seems to be doing well. Is thepitch decent for batting or are AFG bowling badly?
Warning given.Trying of Mankand?
Yeah actually coming up and smothering the spin for onceBabar using his feet thats a little bit odd
Ideally Saim should have been here as the backup opener or at least a reserve. Even if the current selection can be justified given Fakhar and Imam's good run in the recent past and relative experience, continuing with them despite Saim's performances will be a travesty. Sham Masood, the less said the betterAbdullah is fixed at one end, and he is right hander - so the other opener should be one from Imam, Sami, FZ or Masood. He’s bowling tight but perhaps we are giving him too much respect. We’re getting runs from the other bowlers so far so no problem and this over we milked him for singles. Not watching the match, but is Nabi bowling so well or the batsmen just too careful against him?
A bit of both. Not watching the match, but is Nabi bowling so well or the batsmen just too careful against him?
Don’t jinx yaarBabar seems confident. Century no. 20 loading and maybe we can see @Bilal7 in the Virat vs Babar at WC 2023 thread.
Afghanistan bowling pies and pakistan still blocking bad ballHaven't seen the match live. Most of the Pakistani experts on TV were crying about the pitch but Pakistan seems to be doing well. Is thepitch decent for batting or are AFG bowling badly?
,/Because the opposition isn't always Afghanistan.why cant babar play with this approach always
We got a good start! Pitch is slow, it’s going to spin a lot in the second inningsHow we looking boys. Just about to tune in. Had overtime today.
not really he looks timid against other sides otherwise he can play better,/Because the opposition isn't always Afghanistan.
I had predicted Babar will score a half century against India though it may not be a match winning one. My gut says its Babar's day today. He is good enough a player to stay quiet for too long. Not jinxing but its true.Don’t jinx yaar
His lowest strike rate against any team is Afghanistan and India. He has a decent strike rate against all other teams.,/Because the opposition isn't always Afghanistan.
It’ll be, once the ball gets old - it’ll be difficult for new batsmen, but not that much for batsmen settled in middle. Partnership is key here - if one of these two can get a hundred, & stay till end, others can bat around and take the score beyond 300Pitch doesn't seem threatening as initially predicted. Ofc can take spin as game progresses as sun takes toll. But certainly a much better track.
This is spinning track...and we are facing some quality spinWhy do they struggle so much against spin? Its so frustrating
They always do though its so annoyingThis is spinning track...and we are facing some quality spin
Kuldeep did not ‘tear’ us, Bumrah’s strikes were more lethal that day. Saud and Iftikhar played very ordinary shots to legside-ish deliveries, and that’s where he got two cheap wickets.Pakistan should not let the same mistake happen twice in allowing Noor to settle in on a line and length. They did that against Kuldeep and he tore them. Just attack Noor for 2 idrive and he'll be on the defensive all game. Noor's control is not equivalent to Kuldeep.
