Usman Qadir chats to PakPassion about accusations from some that he has only played for Pakistan due to his friendship with Babar Azam

Brilliant answer from Usman, put to rest so much nonsense said about him and Babar.

The guy has more talent than the other spinners but has very little control. When a guy can spin his leg spinner and googly like he can, he should be amongst the elite spinners in World cricket but he bowls 2 or 3 bad balls an over and that means he is going nowhere with his career

But you were given a lot of preference over other deserving players

That’s because you are his mate. You didn’t grab your opportunity like his other mates have

29 wickets in the 19 times he has bowled in T20Is is a very good effort.

I think he's a confidence bowler and unfortunately by picking him in the occasional dead-rubber, or one or two matches here and there is not going to build his confidence.

To me, it seems like another case of mismanagement of a player.

umm not really.

Usman Qadir is a joke a of a cricketer. A spinner that cant bowl witht he correct line and length is not considered to be good enough for even domestic.

He bowls 6 deliveries, and 4 of his deliveries are either full tosses or half pitches. He bowls only 2 good deliveries.

Once Misbah was asked about selecting him and Misbah laughed at the idea because everyone knew how bad Usman Qadir is bowling wise.

Misbah gets made as selector and during his captaincy he always said that captains should be allowed to pick players who they deem as good enough and should play in the team. When Misbah became selector and Babar was his captain, the idea of playing Usman Qadir was forwarded by Babar to Misbah. Even though Misbah saw Qadir as a joke of a bowler, yet he had to oblige to Babar's demands as he had this belief that captains input should also be used.

Its pathetic what Usman Qadir states in his interviews. Everyone knows Babar got him in the team.

Also I can see why he ended up playing domestic cricket. Alot of people say it was cause of his father and that is true abit, but his other borthers never really got to play. He did had the talent. His 2 dleiveires that he bowls well are just terrific balls. But the problem is with 2 good deliveries he bowls 4 bad ones.

I think he needs to play more FC and bowl more to improve his control. The talent is obvious but so is the lack of control

his stats are padded by getting 6 games against Zimbabwe, take em out and his ave is 25 and his e/r is almost 9. he got a gig to play for pak, whatever the reasons for it but he didnt really grab his chance.

despite all the tricks, he lacks control, and that's because he has not played enough domestic cricket, hes averaged around 75 overs a a season in all professional cricket over a ten year career, i dont see how mismanagement has anything to do with his lack of technical skills.

i have seen him play, dont need to dig in the stats.

A spinner is judged on the basis of how many times he ball is being pitched at the right line and length..
Shahid Afridi got an early debut only because of the fact that during net practise, he did not bowl a single full toss. Even though i was a big critic of Afridi, but as a bowler Afridi had all the basics right.

Usman Qadir's basics are soo flawed that him playing international cricket was a big joke. He compares himself to Shadab and Usama mir and thinks he got cheated. When infact he got the advantage of being born in Qadir sa'abs household than being Babar's friend.

For a spinner, its that control that matters the most.

Few of those games were agianst a very weak South African side aswell.

The guy had the potential. The two balls that he bowls at the right areas, those are just woderful. But with that lack of accuracy he should never had played international cricket.

He should have been given an opportunity in Test cricket due to his impressive ability to flight and spin the ball.

He possesses the skill to bowl sharp googlies with unparalleled control.

His bowling action particularly suits this format.

i think he is a wonderful bowler and we are wasting him. he should be playing tests and ODIs regularly.
