He is grossly underestimating the aftermath of such a war. USA's military might will win a war against Iran but its aftermath would be worse than Afghan war for US and its allies. Economically and otherwise. Iran is a proper nation state with an indigenous culture, proud people working and living around the world. The number of revenge attacks that would increase would be all because of USA.

It's not about having oil, the US has had it for a while but it's because the global oil prices are set and traded in dollars which maintains the currency's stability. If everyone started trading global oil in different currencies the dollar and US economy will suffer drastically, maybe even catastrophically.

Because of Shared Border, any war against Iran of course can't start without asking Pakistan to take sides with USA.

Before starting a war, USA will ask from Pakistan to take sides. Neutral Pakistan will be deemed equivalent to Pro-Iran. That's what happened in case of Afghanistan War and Afghan war has damaged Pakistan more than Afghanistan.
