I'll be clear - I am not condoning in anyway what Sharjeel and Latif have done - if found guilty, they should be given a strict and severe punishment.
However, why aren't the people who entice them are held accountable? Bookies influence players and provide illegal money/benefits so shouldn't that also be against the law?
Betting and gambling on cricket should be banned and made illegal. Period.
Players will always be enticed especially those from poorer backgrounds and lacking the big money contracts so fixing will be hard to remove by banning players. Cut off the head and two more will grow and hence nothing will change - eradicate the source (i.e. bookies) and fixing will vanish from the game altogether...
