If PTI wins the General Elections, will Imran Khan be the greatest Pakistani ever?

Please exclude Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, L.I.K, as they were the Founders of the State.

IK's resume is certainly impressive.

Took the nation to its first and only World Cup victory, revisioned and revised their cricketing legacy, built the first (almost) free cancer hospital, founded a political party which only twenty-two years later is on the cusp of winning, etc.

Question is, if he becomes PM, will he be regarded as the most successful Pakistani to have ever lived?

The only person I can compare him to is Arnold Schwarzenneger as he also took the route of entertainment to philanthropy to politics.

Imo Yes.

Abdul Sattar Edhi was a great man and there have been others too but to create a new political party and with half a century defeat the old parties who have secured their presence for decades will a truly great achievement. Add to this his cricket and charity work, nobody will come close.

I think so, yes.

I would also like to give a special mention to Junaid Jamshed.

He influenced a generation of Pakistani's. He had a remarkable life.

For sure.

Showed what a person can achieve when everyone else tells you you can't do something.

IMHO he is already there through all his achievements so far. His biggest achievement imo is not 3 free cancer hospitals, university, world cup etc his biggest achievement is breaking the status-quo and making youth a part of political process.

No doubt. Whether you agree with his politics or not but he has achieved massive milestones.

Sattar Edhi is on the same level.

No, first he would have to deliver as a prime minister too. At least some percentage of his promises.

This.

Imran Khan has single-handedly given people the awareness of their rights, and has made politics something that people talk about. My family had absolutely no interest in Pakistani politics, they despised it. Only Imran Khan could bring them into the fray and even make them concerned and interested in it.

I don't think he is the greatest yet (unless he delivers as PM if elected) but he will remain one of the greatest regardless of election results.

People can downplay cricket achievements because it's just a sport but World cup victory gave immense amount of pleasure to people of Pakistan and the kind of respect he earned as an honest upright Pakistani cricketer was no mean feat...he was a legend and one of most respected Pakistani by the time he finished his cricket career.

His philanthropic work including 3 cancer hospitals, 1 University for poor students + IKF makes him one of our best ever (Edhi sb will remain by far THE best philanthropist in our history).

His contribution to politics is most important, we have had so many PMs who contributed NOTHING substantial so success is politics can not be measured on the basis if someone became PM or minister. He immediately had to surrender his LEGEND status when he entered politics and MOST would have given up but as he always says "Once you reach a level of comfort in life, only two type of people sit back and watch people suffer "timid and selfish".
Despite having colourful personal life, he kept going after several personal attacks and lost his family in the process as well but inspired millions of youngsters to take up politics. I don't think there will be anyone who you could agree 100% of times, Bhutto was one of our best and yet i could list dozens of his blunders but overall Bhutto is one of our greatest our leaders and so is Imran Khan.

Also, quite shameful how nobodies think he got everything on plate in his political career, they just need to analyse things a bit more rather than going by certain incidents.

No, massive Imran supporter but no one can touch the greatness of The Gread Edhi Sahib. He's untouchable.

Just saying - the only way is down after he becomes PM.

We've seen so many people at the height of their power and popularity become king/premiere of their respective countries and it is usually the start of a slippery slope.

Every word of it....

Surely Abdus Salam deserves that tag because he remained a patriot even after so much opposition in Pakistan because of his religious views, not to forget the remarkable achievements in his field. Can't forget Edhi either. IK needs to deliver the goods as PM (a tall order) and even after that he will be below these 2 legends in my opinion.

He already is.

Edhi is the greater person but Imran Khan as done more to change the direction of the nation.

Edhi transcends all boundaries.

Nobody can top Jinnah..end of..Edhi after..and we cannot forget every man (and no matter what some on here think of our army) who has been awarded the nisha e haider. So he is one of a exclusive group..

Lots of competition.

Edhi, Noor Jahan, Abdus Salam are all up there.
