What's new

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

For me I would either say I'd travel to Sydney Australia or London England.

I just think both those places are extremely beautiful and there is lots you could do there. I would also love to go and watch a cricket match in both these places. That would be a dream come true.

Don't think I've lived in one country for more than 5 years bar Pakistan, so have travelled a lot.

Only region I haven't been to is anywhere around Australia/NZ. Would like to visit Aus and see a cricket match live there. Maybe the boxing day test with Pak v Aus. Really wish I could go, as it's not something that I'll get to see every day. Not to mention this is our best test team in a long time to take on Aus.

edit: just realized you made the some reply above haha.

Other than that probably China or Japan.

Love to visit the following places someday

1) Caribbean
2) Switzerland
3) Papua New Guinea
4) Morocco
5) Spain

Sri Lanka. Seems to be a very exotic yet underrated place. Some great ancient site seeing to do as well and the sea food is said to be delicious.

In the mountains. Doesnt matter which ones. Air freshness, aromatic coffee, unmarked trails and not a lot of people. Win on all counts.

You'll have to go back to the stone ages or medieval times for that.

Not really. Have been to a few such places in the Himalayas in the last few years. But in terms of technology, connectivity and comfort, one does have to go to medieval times when in the mountains.

Having lived in both countries, IMO NZ>AU.

1. Madina and Mecca for obvious reasons.
2. Back home in Pakistan
3. Jordan
4. Morocco
5. Spain
6. Australia

Sydney is quite over-rated as a tourist destination and as a place to live.

1. It's quite dirty considering it's a developed city/capital city of NSW-(bar the city)
2. The people are rude- not generalising but the majority are.
3. The suburbs are heavily ethnicity based.
4. Transport is mediocre.

Melbourne>Sydney.

Really?? Well, I'm considering Aus for higher studies and I got an offer in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney each. So like which place would you recommend for a Pakistani international student?

I would love to visit areas like Naathia Gali, Naraan, Kaghan Valley etc.

Apart from Pakistan, I'd love to visit London, England.

Some Shaolin temple in mountains, away from civilization. Would love to spend a few months there.

Bruges, Maybe Skardu and Hunza, Somewhere dark, cold and quiet.

Melbourne.

What school/university/college are you planning on attending?

Sydney has the larger Pakistani population but Melbourne has better universities, culture and it's considerably cheaper to live/rent.

There are quite a bit of Indian's in Melbourne. There is also a decent Pakistani population, but if you want to feel right at home then Sydney would be better for you. A considerably large amount of desis.

Sydney is as expensive as New York in terms of house/rent price.

The best city in the world. Very vibrant, and lots to do there. You can find all ethnicity in the world there. Peace loving people and a very liberal and tolerant city.

:)) Mate I aint event checked out the sea life centre yet. Have a lot on me mind at the moment but if I forget about that then I have always wanted to go Scotland or somewhere with loads of snowy mountains, which is weird because I hate cold weather lol

China sounds pretty awesome, their culture is fascinating

I would like to see Makkah, Madina, Karbala,Basra,Samarkand, Balkh, Bukhara, Kashgar, Isfahan, Damascus, Baghdad, Aleppo , Alexandria, Cairo , Palestine, Qurtaba, timbukto and basically all the Islamic cities I have grown up fantasizing about their culture.

Many of these cities are along Ancient Silk road so I would want to travel along it from china to Europe and along the famous historical route along silk road to Hajj. I dont know if I'll be able to travel as much. It is more of a wish.

ha, don't bother with the sea life centre. I took my nephew a couple of years ago, it was a real disappointment.

Scotland is a beautiful country, when you go make sure you visit Fort William. Btw there is no loch ness monster, I checked . : )

There are so many places I would love to visit, I'd definitely want to visit every continent. Would like to go on a world tour with a few bros while I'm single.

I've got RMIT in Melbourne, UTS and Macquarie in Sydney and University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. I have offers from all of these universities.
In that case you'll be better off in Sydney. Then again it's your choice.

Do you not wish to travel to Pakistan and see what the place is about?

Places less developed and where you can get really feel raw relatively unspoilt culture

Hoping to do a few weeks in morrocco ia soon

Makkah, Medina and Jerusalem for sure. Been to Makkah once but haven't been accepted for Hajj yet.

After those three amazing places would be countries like Morocco, Turkey and Malaysia. These three would definitely be my top spots for my honeymoon. Also South Africa for the safaris.

If you want to come see the city make sure you come for a week ,minimum, because you would be stuck in traffic for five days at the very least.

I'd love to rent a fast car and drive along the Spanish coastline on those pristine highways on a beautiful, sunny day.

Are you sure about PNG?
Probably should have elaborated. The tribal people in Papua New Guinea are known to be cannibals.

In addition to the cannibals it's just a country that the Aussie government uses to dump asylum seekers and set up detention centres. There isn't much to do.

Remaining over night at Kruger National Park is an amazing experience, I would highly suggest it.

Malaysia is over-rated.Unless you're hoping to invest hours on the shoreline. The rain forests are loaded with loggers and the measure of ghettos are out right astonishing for a country whom relies heavily on the tourism industry.

Thats always been on my list . Unfortunately its not happening anytime soon , but I will definitely visit Pakistan one day .

I like your list :)

Vietnam is fav of all the countries I have visited uptill now . My only regret is that I could not do a proper road trip like I had planned . The food , people , the beaches ..and the unreal coffee lol . This country is a must visit for everyone . When you do vist , make sure you include Cambodia and Laos , you can cover all three at one shot . Thailand should be separate , its nothing like the other 3 though I love the place .

you should add Indonasia ( Bali / Java ) , even tough its touristy there are a lot of unexplored places .

I had done bit of research on PNG few years back and this is the exact reason why me and my friends backed off , but is it really so bad or unsafe to visit ? it looks beautiful though .

I have lived in these OZ cities -

Perth - Weather similar to Lahore and Delhi, only 8 hour direct flight to Delhi/Lahore?

Brisbane = If you can handle humid weather, small city atmosphere.

Melbourne = Unpredictable weather, you can experience 4 seasons in a single day, excellent transport.

Adelaide = Hot summers, People are religious, conservative, boring.

Sydney = Awesome weather 365 days, very expensive.

Middle east and North Africa has always fascinated me, I want to visit Istanbul, Damascus, Cairo.

I live there..lol.
Well I am between both Calgary and Toronto these days. Traffic is bad but not as crazy as some US cities. 407 zindabad :D

I would love to visit these places:

1) Saudi Arabia.
2) Turkey.
3) Egypt.
4) Iceland.
5) Antarctica.
6) Maldives.
7) Morocco.
8) Argentina.
