"I'm ready for the challenge of international cricket" : Usman Khan Shinwari

Didn't get a chance to watch him bowl today. How did he do Chief Destroyer?

Watched like the last 3 overs of Lankan innings. This series is boring man. Can't be bothered watching. Waiting till we play NZ. That series will tell us more about these players and our team.

He started off very well but became wayward after that. Probably because it was his first ODI. I think he is a decent enough bowler and a good back up bowler incase someone gets injured. But with Amir, Rumman, Hasan, and Junaid already fighting it out for the 3 spots, I don't see him as a permanent member of the playing 11 anytime soon.

He's an extremely good bowler has can swing it miles, will bowl with even more pace in the late 140's if invested in, has good line and length, possesses the yorker and is extremely fit.

Should replace Junaid Khan in the team, with his competition being Rumman Raees.

Bit unfit I felt but then given the heat in Sharjah yesterday - cannot really fault him.

Glad that we have started to move away from the bowlers who fail to maintain List-A averages below 30. Next target should be <25, which seems impossible.

He's shown that is IS ready for the challenge of International Cricket. Should be in the XI more often than not, in my humble opinion. A very, very good bowler. Bowls fast, swings it like most cannot in the world and was just making his debut.

Can't wait for the NZ series.

Did he swing it yesterday?

Did he swing it yesterday?

Not a whole lot considering these pitches are graveyards for fast bowlers but yes, he had more movement than any other bowler on display. At least in the first couple of overs.

And anyway, it was his debut game and it was very impressive.

Usman Khan silencing the haters! :shhh

2 wickets in the first over. Best swing bowler in the country for a reason!

I deserve some humble pie, this was an outstanding performance. No doubt about it

Thats the attitude! Only a real man would accept his false judgement and change opinions. :salute

This single fifer doesn't change the fact that Shinwari sprays it to all parts. Heck even phasst Wahab Riaz had his fair share of stellar performances and spectacular spells. We all know where he is now.

Yes on the condition that he goes to show consistency as he goes further.

However any man who gets a 5'fer in his 2nd ODI deserves a run of atleast 10-15 matches before a conclusion is passed on him. He is fit, fast, and is unconventional in his swing.

He has spray gun issues, but that is what the coaching team is there for. If he is a wicket taker like he showed, it doesn't matter how many runs he goes for as long as he picks up wickets like he did today.

Yes 21 year is no age to write anyone off. He may fix his spraygun issues and become a very lethal bowler.

Quotes like these never allow a person to grow. Have fun defending a false and biased opinion for as long as you want but gladly, not everyone is that thick-skinned.

You used to be a really good poster but you've become very ordinary in recent times when being unbiased and as far as objectivity is concerned. The incessant criticism of Mickey despite the success he's had and how he's changed the Pakistani team completely, the hate you have for Misbah for no reason at all, calling Imam-ul-Haq a nepotistic choice despite his history and even after a debut ton and now targeting Shinwari. Honestly, it's not a surprise. Don't know if you're doing this for attention but frankly it doesn't suit you.

I appreciate your posts but don't put forward one agenda. Put the team and objectivity before your personal vendettas. No one in the world can criticise a debut ton and a second match 5fer. Had they not put up these stellar performances, you would've have criticised them to death considering how critical you were in spite of such MOM games they had.
