I can bet, yasir shah will bat better than Timid character like Imad Wasim, he has played 17 balls so far scored 3 runs. There were so many supporters of him in this forum and many supporters of Sharjeel Khan. These type of Players who are not bowlers nor batsmen, what exactly they are doing in Team Pakistan. Look at Shoaib aged 36 and useless. Hafeez aged 36 useless. Complete overhaul is needed.

Do you guys have better options in domestics? Or would go back to Shehzad, Akmal brothers, Junaid, Nazir Razzaq types?

Imad Wasim's batting...

Struggling to rotate the strike and struggling to middle the ball.

He is not even milking the spinners like Sarfraz and Malik were doing.

A poor man's Afridi (who was a poor man's Jayasuriya anyway)

Not impressed with him - time to look elsewhere unless Imad massively improves...

Imad Wasim : An all-rounder or a tail-ender with the bat?

Is this really a joke? this guy is considered an all rounder by our selectors, tea management yet he looks as good as Wahab with the bat.

Imad has a FC average of 40+ so he can bat but is he someone who can do so @ a SR of 130 in the later stages of an ODI?

That's the question.

lol I just made a thread about this a minute ago.

Just not good enough at this level I'm afraid...

He is boiling my blood honestly why is he even picked ahead on nawaz.

Heyyy! wahab can at least hit them cleanly on his day, Imada is pure class on the other hand

one thing for sure we got better brains than people running our cricket. really lost for words how players like Shan,Gul,Immad make to team at this level so easily.

I guess you are lacking wisdom, if Aamir is that good then he should prove it on the field, he is struggling to take wickets, he is selected as a fast bowler. And Aamir has done not much with bat since his comeback.

Nawaz still a better option than him. Why this guy keeps getting selected.

Azhar has horribly misused Nawaz's bowling.

People get overawed by a couple of good performances against ZImbabwe, Ireland that its clouds their judgement.

Consistency against the best teams is key...

He must've been told to stay at the crease, can't imagine any other reason for blocking in this manner. 9 off 27...

The pedigree is one of a part time spinner when opposition is six down, and in terms of batting could be nightwatchman.

Nawaz did better the other day

But then there's higher chances he would already be ot today

he's played pretty well. hung in there at the start in a difficult situation and has opened up a lot in the last few. looks to have a great head on his shoulders. pakistan could have potentially discovered a very good player.

Dunno why people had the audacity to criticise our saviour

People need to calm down, those odd fluke boundaries don't mean anything.

He can't properly bat and we've seen that in the last 10-20 overs. Anwar Ali won you matches ON HIS OWN with his batting.

Why do you all hate him now?

It's how you score runs. Nawaz is equally bad.

His death batting is nowhere near Afridi standard. Afridi, Razzaq, even Anwar Ali would have gotten us to 280

We won't even get 250...

Where are those posters saying Yasir and even wahAb better than Imad? You guys need to have patience and atleast judge players for sometimes before posting childish and naive comments.
He is young and have aggressive attitude unlike Hafeez n Shoaib Malik, tried and tested many times!

He's better than afridi and anwar Ali put together... end of

What the?

That's 63 from 70 balls, most were dots. That's from a NUMBER 7.

Valuable runs, but not good enough for the modern ODI game. This will lose you 7 out of 10 matches.

Of course, top order has to score too, but late order should know how to accelerate and hit well enough.

To compare, Anwar Ali used to play much better knocks. Remember Bangladesh where he won you the match?

Need to work on rotating strike better at start of his innings and can be a potential good all rounder.. Tbf to him
No Pakistani player seems to be fit enough physically or mentally to take quick singles, hit the ball in the gaps and run twos, convert ones into twos.. If they had better fitness levels could have added 25-35 runs easily to this score..

Should learn from Kohli, Dhoni, Rahane how they did in last T20s and work on it..

Mediocre cricketer eh? Him and Sarfraz were they only ones who looked gutsy. Problem with us fans is that we dont wait.

Done well Pakistan couldve easily folded for 200 without his innings Hes a work in progress but hes shown he had something to offer with the bat

Now all need is a yamin type bowler batter at 8

You're right. Most aren't fit. Babar, Azhar, Hafeez and Malik are though. Disappointing to see 30+ players fit and so called "youngsters" (Sharjeel,Imad) aren't.

Today I must say he started off so poorly and was a remarkable turnaround. The problem with all our batsmen looks the same. They all take time to settle. We don't have anyone who can immediately come in and strike well.

The posts in this thread :)))

Did people seriously expect him to smash a 100 off 37 balls after the top order collapse lmao his role may be that of a finisher but he had to bat like a middle order batsman today, it was a terrific fighting knock. Did well to stick around with Sarfraz and accelerated once we had recovered from the awful start. Imad came into bat when we were 125/5 around the 26th over  surely if we use the brain cells which god has blessed us with we'd understand that in such circumstances he'd have to stick around for a while, even moreso when you take into account how long our tail is

Poor batsman. poor bowler. will get to play longer because he contributed to a sub par score.

"remarkable turnaround" = 6.4.4.
if you say so.

Don't understand why some people are
Complaining. He came in at 125/5 and had to dig in. What has your top order done that this guy should get targeted in the first place. I think this is probably the first time he came in where he wasnt required to hit from the on set. Mind you that's never an easy thing for any batsmem. He took his time and ended up with a 90 strike rate. What else do you want!

Well these are the type of limited over cricketers Pakistan are producing.

He's contributed at least, no point complaining about every player that we have at our disposal.

Run a ball is risk free. if you cant do it, regardless of how many wickets down, it means you are a limited batsmen.
its these kind of excuses ("he came when were in trouble, he is the second highest scorer") that make limited players feel they are better than they really are.

How is he a tailender ??

He had to block the balls early on because too many wickets were lost far too early.

Malik should be going first, he still can't play quick bowling on any pitch that just a bit of pace.

Mate thats what proper specialist batsmen do! Your main batsmen did jack and knives are out for this lad! Who has given you a fighting chance! Hilarious!

Is this coming from a hardcore misbah fan?

What a thread. He was getting bashed for no reason and did more than a decent job. He is the Shakib of Pakistan

He had a good game Has some deficiencies but seems like a fighter and someone passionate

Hopefully he can continue playing well with both bat and ball and make this 7/8 spot his own because Pakistan desperately needs 2-3 decent all rounders

Pakistani fans are so toxic, oh my word.
Obviously he is not going to be the best finished in the world, far from it, but you can't deny that he played a very good knock in the end.
Honestly guys.

What a thread.

He did very well under the circumstances.

Lack of strike rotation cost him another 20 runs but at least he didn't give it away after making a slow 20.

If you look at him as Afridi's replacement, he's definitely better. Will get just as many wkts than Afridi was getting lately and will contribute more consistently with the bat.

obviously he is limited but thats his role- a bit&pieces player.
And dont forget he did contribute 60 runs which really bolstered your score.Roughed it out initially.Fighting attitude.
If you have to blame sm1 blame the top order.

Some guy said Anwar Ali is better bwahaha :)))

Some of the shots he played today were like that of a proper bat. Fulfilled his role today as a #7. I still back him and Nawaz. Nawaz is a #6 bat, and Imad at 7.

Sarfraz brought himself more time so he can move up.

Something like:

1) Sharjeel
2) Sami
3) Rizwan
4) Sarfraz
5) Malik*
6) Nawaz
7) Imad
8) Hasan
9) Amir
10) Wabster
11) why on earth is this guy playing

thats just it. there is no need to compare with other misfiring batsmen they all have different roles. So you can applaud him now, but I can tell you by look at how he has batted in these two games, that he is going to cost you matches in this series.
If your consolation for that is he did better than other batsmen who have different roles, knock yourself out.

Babar at 11 sounds good. Will strengthen our tail.

No Babar Azam?

Need couple of guys in the middle who can bat sensibly with out throwing it away. Can be a good batsmen but nothing more than a part time darker with the ball

One of few pakistani who can play pace and people call him tail-ender :yk :misbah

Problem with Pakistan is Imaad Wasim is an ideal cricketer to have IF you have a top solid order!!! Why don't any of you understand this simple concept?! He's not a top order batsman, he's not a Shane Watson, Mitchell Marsh, or a Glenn Maxwell, but his role is like that of players like Ashwin, Woakes, Santner etc. He should comes in at number 7 with a good solid platform laid for him and let the guy flourish!!! Today he comes in at number 7 in the 26th over and plays a PERFECT innings in my opinion. Sarfraz let him down by throwing his wicket away and becoming all relaxed after getting his hundred.

Issue is simple but solving it is a HUGE problem. What Pakistan needs is a more dynamic number 3 LIKE an Umar Akmal, and they need explosive openers (or at least have one explosive opener). Sharjeel is not explosive and is a tulla which you cannot rely on. 4,5,6 are perfect in my opinion. The final problem is finding a number 8 who can slog you a few big ones aka your afridi role.

So... Issue is Number 1,2,3 and 8. I personally don't mind giving Sami aslam a go at number 1, he's young and his technique is good... Perhaps introduce him into ODI after playing him in tests like New Zealand did with Williamson and England have done with root...

Sorry for the long message, hope my explanation and reasoning has come across well.
