Is the Management even aware that Mohammad Wasim Jr. is a fake all-rounder?

The lack of good all-rounders except for Shadab (maybe)?

Sad to see no Pakistan names in the rankings

Can Mohammad Wasim do anything now? plenty of overs left!
 
They’ve picked him ahead of Dahani for the World Cup. Likely because of the added batting ability? Well haven’t seen Wasim bat much. Do remember those Dahani sixes at the Asia Cup.
 
Got the man in form, Duckett, today. I can see him as the 4th pacer in Australia
 
The main problem I have with his bowling is that it's a bit too predictable.

As an opposition batter, he'd be the bowler that most teams will target.
 
He has a higher ceiling than many other seamers we have.

Bowled well today. Got the ball to reverse as well.

He might get hit for runs by being predictable but more often than not will end up picking vital wickets, it's simple tactics of you miss I hit coupled with slight reverse swing, and most of the times he is deadly accurate to go for 40+ in T20s , I think he along side Rauf are really powerful death bowling combo.

Yes he has that knack of picking up wickets which is great.

He's learning, he will improve and he's definitely one to persevere with.
 
I think he is the future. He will get better with experience. He bowls a mean yorker, is quick, good fielder and can bat.

Us fans we can't ask for much more.
 
The guy is improving every game with his bowling and fielding

His speed seems a bit down but he is giving nothing away to right handers. In fact I think he has bowled very nice to left handers too in the last two games

He's been all over the place with the ball.

Economy rate so far at PSL8 is 11.25.
 
Taken to the cleaners by the likes of Fakhar Zaman and others today 1/48 in 4 overs

Not sure of Pindi is the place to be for bowlers.
 
I think he's made a name for himself as a bowler now, hardly see him batting. Keeps getting those breakthroughs when needed. Could play a part in the WC on pitches where where we need a 4 man pace attack.

He is a bowler who can bat a bit.He is not an allrounder.He should concentrate on his bowling but if he likes batting then he can practice in nets.In crunch games if a tailender can score 15-20 runs then this can win you a game.
 
Only in Pakistan would a bowler considered an all rounder, because he can smash a couple of sixes every once in a while. This guy is a poor excuse of an all rounder.
 
The thread is dedicated to discussion on batting potential of Wasim Jnr.

From what I have seen recently, the guy clearly has some batting potential. Mostly he doesnt look hurried and seems to have a solid batting stance.

Although infrequently his hand-eye coordination seems pretty good and can play some wristy shots.

In my opinion till now he hasnt started thinking as a batsman and as a result often throws away his wicket.

How can we harness his talent and convert him into a working level bowling AR (average around 20-25 in both ODI and tests).

For me, coaches need to tell him that he needs to spend a lot of time batting in nets and also promote him up the order some times in real match situations (Wasim used to do that with Malik and Razzaq- No comparison intended)
 
Needs to focus on his bowling more I feel there is a very decent fast bowler hidden inside him which can be harnessed with a lot of 4 day cricket

I agree he should focus on bowling more but I feel with a little bit of effort and change of mindset he can contribute with the bat. He does have some batting talent and doesnt look like a slogger when he plays his shots
 
Muhammad Wasim Jr. is a great cricketer, and after watching his batting in this 2023 World Cup, my mind really had changed. I do believe he has the potential to be Pakistans best Bowling All-Rounder at the moment mainly for Limited overs imo. He doesn't seem to be troubled by pace, and played some big shots.

Wasim JR had a terrific ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India. After that, he was not given many chances in New Zealand series. At the start of the PSL 9, he looked good, but his performance declined, and today he is being thrashed for boundaries.
 
wasim jnr has an economy of 10 and average of 30 in this years PSL.

It will be really shocking to see him in the Pak team again.

The guy is brainless as well.
