"remarkable turnaround" = 6.4.4.
if you say so.
He had a SR of 27 at one point in time and ended up with a SR of 90 in the end. If that is not remarkable what is?

By that you mean, he went from a complete rubbish innings to a sub par one day innings whereby he ended eating more than 30 deliveries and despite being in a power play when supposedly set and STILL managed to crawl to 90 strike rate?
Yes that would be a turnaround from complete rubbish to mediocre.
But sure go on and tell me about how he did better than the others who failed and how he came in to bat at a tough time where is talent to be able to place a ball for a single had to be curbed

Love the way we speak about our guys like we have a queue of fine performers waiting for a chance to get in
Imad is fine and his confidence would have grown after this innings
What you mean is that like most Pakistanis he can't take a single and neither can he bit a big shotThe first 30 odd runs he scored he genuinely looked like a number 11, after that we started seeing him opening up his arms and going for a few cover drives.
Like many of pakistani batsman's his problem seems to be he hasn't got a big shot, every time he tried to a bowler down the ground for six he either missed the ball or edged it.
My question is if Ben Stokes would have played 70 deliveries, or Moeen Ali would have played 70 deliveries how many runs they would have scored ? I will tell you how many, for sure far more than 63 runs. Imad's 63 off 70 balls was good till 2011. Not anymore. Realistically minimum requirement is a run a ball and that is 70 off 70.

What's his average this series ?

Considering Imad is batting at no 7 and faced 70 balls he should have been scoring at a much higher strike rate. Not saying he was mediocre but modern day cricket requires much more.
These guys who bat at 6, 7, 8 need to model themselves on razzaq, razzaq never danced around the wicket never moved forward or back he cleared his and hit the ball clean.
Our guys are just so weak, no one has a power game. Its a shame to see this.
Problem with Pakistan is Imaad Wasim is an ideal cricketer to have IF you have a top solid order!!! Why don't any of you understand this simple concept?! He's not a top order batsman, he's not a Shane Watson, Mitchell Marsh, or a Glenn Maxwell, but his role is like that of players like Ashwin, Woakes, Santner etc. He should comes in at number 7 with a good solid platform laid for him and let the guy flourish!!! Today he comes in at number 7 in the 26th over and plays a PERFECT innings in my opinion. Sarfraz let him down by throwing his wicket away and becoming all relaxed after getting his hundred.
Issue is simple but solving it is a HUGE problem. What Pakistan needs is a more dynamic number 3 LIKE an Umar Akmal, and they need explosive openers (or at least have one explosive opener). Sharjeel is not explosive and is a tulla which you cannot rely on. 4,5,6 are perfect in my opinion. The final problem is finding a number 8 who can slog you a few big ones aka your afridi role.
So... Issue is Number 1,2,3 and 8. I personally don't mind giving Sami aslam a go at number 1, he's young and his technique is good... Perhaps introduce him into ODI after playing him in tests like New Zealand did with Williamson and England have done with root...
Sorry for the long message, hope my explanation and reasoning has come across well.
Finally someone I can agree with. Imad is good player at number 7, may be push him up to number 6 if he continues to show improvement in his batting.
Sharjeel Khan will never be successful in overseas conditions against bowlers who can bowl 85mph plus, unless he improves his technique/foot work. I think he might be the answer at lower order for few big hits. Azhar Ali needs to be dropped from ODI and play as Test Specialist. Aslam needs to show improvement from here on, but should not be dropped after 5-6 matches. I think PCB should try to get him a contract for 2017 county season (LA and FC).
Both NAwaz or Imad could bat at 6 but the problem remains that our middle order is damn weak which could make them ineffective as well.

Nawaz is not a number 6. He can average 20 in ODIs and 30-35 in tests.

Nawaz can't bat below 5 if he's going to play and currently he's not good enough to bat in the top 5.
Well played today.
Nawaz has been a disappointment honestly. He doesn't have the shots with the bat. I'd take Zafar over him since he showed ability to hit the ball. Nawaz is a better candidate for tests where quick runs aren't necessary.
These days I wonder if he is even a bowler lol. Seems like he is going Ahmesh Shehzad way. Can't impress with his performance but grow big hair and nice beard and stay close to captain to stay in the team.lol
