Very technical guy. I literally don’t see a flaw in his game besides the short ball. A shame that he still can’t hit the short ball. Needs to practice more. Maybe give him an ultimatum and 1 month practice of short balls. Short balls every training session. He can’t go home unless he smacks 10 short balls for boundaries in a row. Each and every session should be like that. He must be given minimum of 200 short balls each session. If he fails to improve in 1 month, send him back to domestic. If he succeeds, make him captain.

He's reminiscent of our very own Imran Farhat. It seems he encounters frequent rough patches, eventually churning out the occasional, albeit inconsequential half-century or century that somehow secures his spot. He will struggle in fast pitches and in this WC he is already very unreliable.

Credit where it's due, today he managed to maintain a decent strike rate, even though at one point he went over 100 strike rate but then reverted to a more conservative approach, ended up playing too defensive. It's safe to say the Australians weren't too bothered by his batting. Realistically, even if he had managed a century, he wouldn't have been the game-changer for Pakistan. It's becoming evident that he struggles with hitting sixes against fast bowlers and only really excels when he ventures down the track to face spinners.

Only Rizwan deserves to be the next Pakistani captain with Afridi as his deputy..

It is laughable that current vice captain of Pakistan doesn't even merit selection in squad.

Other than Rizwan and Afridi, Pakistan have no one capable enough to lead them in any format.

Take a look at India, there are as many as 5 to 6 mature players who can lead this Indian side. Rahul, Hardik, Pant, Iyer and even Burmah and Samson have those qualities to lead national team.

However, if they make Afridi captain it would be interesting to see how as a fast bowler he captains a team as unsettled as Pakistan.

in any case unless some major transformation happens,Babar as captain definitely seems to have teaches his sell by date.

Best option was Imad. After the WC I'd try Saud Shakeel seems like an intelligent guy who's also mentally strong.

I think would be too early to bring Saud Shakeel as captain. He has hardly cemented his place in the team !
Applying additional pressure isn't worth it.

For me, I would say RIzwan is leading the chart to be the next captain, and then Shaheen as his support and vice Captain. Imam for me is too impatient as you saw in his video trying to mock his haters after hitting a century. To be a captain, you have to be able to bear all the criticism which imam cannot do.
