In the present Pakistani batting line up, how many players are comfortable on the back foot. I am not sure how good Imam is at cutting and pulling the ball, the guy was struggling against Jesse Ferguson in UAE.

Fakhar plays the cut shot well, not sure about the pull and hook shot, his technique gives the belief he struggles a bit but he loves the ball coming on to the bat which will work to his advantage in South Africa.

Azhar Ali sucks when it comes to cutting and pulling the ball, he will be banking on the South African's pitching the ball up to him which they will not do at all and he is going to adopt the night watchman approach and be of zero threat to the opposition.

Asad Shafiq can play the cut and pull shot well, but his short height will be a concern and his general lazy, slow starting attitude is going to be a big problem.

Unsure of Haris Sohail, not sure if he can play the cut shot or pull shot well. I am assuming he struggles on that front.

Babar Azam has a good cut and pull shot in his armory and have seen him flick the short ball of his hips, so if he gets going i back him to find a way to score.

Sarfaraz plays the cut shot well, not sure about his ability to hook and pull, i think it is weaker than his ability to play the cut shot, but he is going to play his shots and look to score runs and my biggest fear is that most of the times he will be dismissed early snicking to the keeper or slips with his irresponsible approach to batting.

Faheem Ashraf if played has a good cut and pull shot, it is his favorite go to area so it could be his bread and butter shot on these pitches.

Overall we have 4.5-5 batsmen who have the game to excel in these conditions. Tail will need to wag here as well. If we are to stand any chance of putting a self respecting show in these conditions, the batting has to punch above its weight.

Well they all have the techniques but a lot of time its down to courage also - and if the game plan is to hold back on such shots (pulling)
