Gavaskar and Kapil were among the 14 ex international captains to demand for
Medical treatment to Imran Khan.
- It was signed by Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Allan Border, Steve Waugh, Ian Chappell, Belinda Clark, Kim Hughes, Mike Atherton, Nasser Hussain, Mike Brearley, David Gower, Clive Lloyd & John Wright. (The Age)
Point to be noted that eunuch Shahid Afridi has remained silent on this.
Must be some beneficiary of corruption like the posters you tagged.

None of them had the balls to speak up about the inhumane treatment.
Actually when IK first took office he reached out to Modi and talked about resolving disputes and ensuring peace and development. This desire for peace was taken as weakness by Modi.Pakistan’s economic situation and India posturing makes it impossible for them to run their backs on USA. They have to be cooperative.
I’m not saying that they’re not corrupt but they’re in a huge debt trap. Imran Khan is in all the troubles today because he didn’t understand the nuances of soft diplomacy. He directly challenged great powers despite being in a vulnerable position. It wasn’t tactically the right thing to do.

That's because we were all under the false impression that the establishment is non-corrupt and loyal to the country despite some of their failures.
It was eye-opening for most of us when they removed a clean patriot like Imran Khan and imposed a band of thieves on the country (who they themselves cried hoarse about their corruption.) Talk to the common man on the streets and the choice words they use for the establishment only happened after they removed Imran Khan.
Furthermore, people with a working brain analyze and adapt as new information becomes available to them. Those who don't only show a lack of brain power. Even Jinnah was initially opposed to the idea of Pakistan but changed his course in light of new information. Perhaps you should try it too.
wasim and waqar were finally awake and tweeted after years of injusticewhy there are no pakistani cricketers in this list? Are they shameless or scared of losing the job in PCB?![]()
Imran Khan probably should've stayed with cricket. He could've been a great cricket commentator or a coach.
It is sad what he is experiencing at this old age.
The same army that you opposed but now are in favour of because they are supporting your favourite parties. Have some shame.lol .. you were one of them, I remember. A gullible, nationalist zealot brought up on army propaganda.
You were brainwashed to think the military is this romantic, magically principled entity single handedly saving Pakistan from destruction through military coups whereas actual representatives of the people like a certain PM was hanged to death. Indian posters pointed this out plenty of times.
Forget the injuns, even the well-meaning pakistani pundits like Hussain Haqqani and Ayesha Siddiqa were dismissed by you as US/Indian funded traitors and 'liberals' and all other kinds of choice abuses.
Have some shame.

You were the one who was crying every day on here because you couldn't get a visa to emigrate. You didn't stay by choice like Imran did, no one wanted you outside of Pakistan.
And Sunil Gavaskar said following:
Zardari was given royal treatment in jail. He had intimate conjugal visits with his wife, Khwajasaras and horses in jail. (Witnessed by wardens at the time)Zardari was right, He had done 15 years and had this tongue cut.. he said that when imrans time will come he wont be able to bare it. Its been what 2 years or 3 maybe?
Waqee kanna hogya
IK is creating history, children will learn about him in schools, not in Pakistan only, but all over the world, In sha Allah. After Tipu Sultan he is the bravest known man from this part of the world. Every sane person can see that.
A couple of losers will get offended by this post, but no one cares about them or their leaders.
They cut his tongue.. royal treatment? Lol sureZardari was given royal treatment in jail. He had intimate conjugal visits with his wife, Khwajasaras and horses in jail. (Witnessed by wardens at the time)
The audacity of people like you to compare Imran Khan to Zardari - black mein ticket bechta tha!
Biggest icon after jinnah? What an insult for jinnah. After Jinnah, he is the biggest leader and Icon Pakistan has produced and there will be no one like him for generations

Im not wealthy under them. I live in punjab not sindh. If i were to benefit from ppp than i would have to be in rural sindhThat’s your personal choice but do explain how long before you’re wealthy under this regime you passionately support?

There is also a massive skill issueWell there you go. The only reason you are in Pakistan is not due to love of your country, you wanted to emigrate, the only reason you didn't was family commitments.
Bro you are wrong here. They are a coalition. The point is people can support ppp or pmln but even in 50 years they can’t get Pakistan out of poverty , Infact their policies are increasing this . You may but people are turning against them , hunger will take over fear .
Imo Imran will remain long after zardari and Nawaz are in the ground , politically too .
Still stayed back.Well there you go. The only reason you are in Pakistan is not due to love of your country, you wanted to emigrate, the only reason you didn't was family commitments.
Bro you are wrong here.
Ppp and pmln and pti are very veyr very different.
Ppp has fucked sindh, that i agree and aftet the recent fire in gul plaza, they have lost any repo that they held.
Pmln is very very very different. Pmln is the party of business men. South punjab and central punjab are dominated by industrialists and people that operate in the business community. Pmln give these people benefits and actually listens to them.
For business community only one thign matters, any issue they have they tell their association than that association conveys it to the party.
Pti wasnt accessible the way pmln is. All the associations for different industries lean towards pmln, even though they were once creation of ppp. So pmln is actually loved in those parts.
The army is going to use the image of Imran. Once Imran passes away, the army will control the image. Basically they will have someone like Gandapur as pti head or someone else, and market is as Imran Shaheeds party, and than use that party incase pmln or ppp get out of line.
The goal of the army is tl have pti, but a pti where they control the image and not imran.
Ppp sucks at development, hut without ppp you cannot make a govt as ppp is a parliamentary govt.
Ppp can bave 0 votes jn their favor, but they will still control the bills in the parliament as they control the senate.
Ptis biggest failiure was understanding how NA and senate works.
I do agree that all of pmlns projects come from heavy loans that increases the national debt. Even the garbage industry has been given to a foreign company in the past by pmln.Plmn are only spending money so they can hide their theft . The national debt has doubled in the past 2-3 years . It’s nearly 400rps to Sterling . Starting a small business in Pakistan is a risk , the government makes its tougher with numerous corrupt bureaucrats coming in your way . Chinas loans are saving Pakistan . Nothing is good in Pakistan right now .
We can disagree but I’ll make a prediction too .
The regime is in Washington meeting Israelis , Munir will sell out Pakistan causing an economic collapse (because China will want another government as this one is Zionist) . The army will lay the blame on sharifs and zardaris , who will end up in exile with munir like mushy did. The army isn’t going to comit suicide for minor and tom and Jerry. There is huge anger within for normalising relations with Israel which is the path they are following .
Zardaris and maryams rejoicing is a lot of fear within.
I do agree that all of pmlns projects come from heavy loans that increases the national debt. Even the garbage industry has been given to a foreign company in the past by pmln.
Ppp is the opposite, but there is no development in Sindh
15 Years?, calm down. At most people say 11-12 years, and whole world knows where he spent most of the time and doing what.Zardari was right, He had done 15 years and had this tongue cut.. he said that when imrans time will come he wont be able to bare it. Its been what 2 years or 3 maybe?

People are saying that ex-pakistani cricketers should stand up and say something in favour of IK as well, but how is this possible when they know that anything could happen to them or their families at any given time. Their families would be threatened by the opposition parties, their bank accounts frozen, their homes, businesses destroyed, there is too much to lose for them because of the fear of consequences.
Look at whats happened to a lot of the PTI workers, that says what it needs to. It is down to the international community to do something as there isnt the same retribution on them as they dont live in pakistan, im sure a lot of the locals would love to speak up without any consequences but cant.
All Pak Establishment is doing is making a martyr out of IK. If anything happens to IK in prison, it can cause chaos in Pakistan. Imprisoning someone without giving proper medical care is pathetic.Breaking news - 14 former international legendary captains, including Sunil Gavaskar & Kapil Dev, and former India head coach Greg Chappell , have sent an 'appeal' to Pakistan govt to ensure fair treatment for Pak cricket legend Imran Khan in jail

A lot of people dont realize this. Politicians have lots of power in the SC and they will f up your life if they wanted to. Why risk it and cause harm to your family ? Easy to be a key board warrior and say why dont these ex or current Pak players tweet or say something ? If I was in their position , I would also just shut the f up. Too much to lose.People are saying that ex-pakistani cricketers should stand up and say something in favour of IK as well, but how is this possible when they know that anything could happen to them or their families at any given time. lol Such puff pieces.Mohsin Naqvi did more than anyone for PTI founder’s release, says Gandapur
Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has credited Mohsin Naqvi with playing an unparalleled role in securing the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, ARY News reported.
Speaking to the media, Ali Amin Gandapur said, “No one worked as tirelessly as Mohsin Naqvi for the PTI founder’s release. He even spoke directly to the Field Marshal, a feat no one else could achieve.” He described Naqvi as the only person capable of confronting senior military leadership on this matter.
Ali Amin Gandapur added that the party’s focus has now shifted to public welfare, stating, “With the PTI founder’s release, we have moved from political struggle to addressing people’s health and well-being. We take responsibility for this progress.”
However, the former minister criticized internal party divisions, warning that PTI’s sit-ins and protests alone will not guarantee Imran Khan’s release.
“There are ill-intentioned elements within our ranks, and no one in PTI currently has the authority to make key decisions. Many are blaming each other instead of working collectively,” Ali Amin Gandapur said.

lol Such puff pieces.
Step 1: Create so many Anti-Islamic stories against a leader in jail and his family that it’s hard to verify
Step 2: Create a rhetoric that its the leader in jail that is the issue who isn’t coming half way and the good Establishment leaders are trying their best to get them released.
Smoke and Mirrors should be symbol of Pakistani Establishment

The peoples of the Punjab are yet to provide any evidence of this.
People are saying that ex-pakistani cricketers should stand up and say something in favour of IK as well, but how is this possible when they know that anything could happen to them or their families at any given time. For all the faults of the West - you cannot even begin to imagine the difference in the application of "freedom of expression" in the West vs the sub-continent.
Forget about criticizing your chief minister, prime minster - even criticizing an absolutely low level party functionary in your local area can invite - goons entering your home verbally and physically abusing your family members - destroying your property etc.,
There's no other way to say it but it is easier to take a stand when there is no danger of consequences to your life and limb. Which is why I admire protestors in Iran vs the United States.
Here in the US - I have personally seen the US cops being harangued and harassed when making arrests or even when simply doing rounds in the cars.
When Donald Trump was traveling in a motorcade - a woman riding a bicycle showed a middle finger and it is protected under freedom of expression however indecent that gesture may have been.
Essentially you can absolutely come down as a ton of bricks on the local and federal politicians - and no one is going to come to your house to attack you.
In the sub-continent it is completely different.
Ironic, considering you are spreading misinformation hereYou are not going to like my post below regardless let me debunk some misinformation you are mouthing on this forum.
Below is an extract from an article published on 3rd February 2013. This article was published by Amir Mateen after he visited Zardari in his confinement. Some interesting details in this piece below.

Farzana Raja—the ketchup girl by Amir Mateen
The first time I saw Farzana Raja was when I went to see Asif Zardari on the sidelines of Rawalpindi district courts. This was the best opportunity to meet him when he was not in hospital where he spent half of his jail time.
Asif was always surrounded by his usual courtiers who competed with each other to please the boss—a jail bird he might be but as Benazir’s hubby he was still worth, as an Urdu proverb goes, sawa laakh. A minion brought a message from his soothsayer, one Motumal that good news was around the corner (Motumal remains the chief inspiration for many Presidential decisions). Not to be left behind, another crony gave him a talisman from the Pir of Golra Sharif that would supposedly rid him of the evil eye (the Pir has now declared Asif as the evil eye and backs Tahirul Qadri against him). The crony-in-chief, now in-charge of President’s golden brief case, jail doctor Qayyum Soomro brought biscuits and patties. I saw this overly made-up woman squirming on her seat to get noticed. Suddenly she dashed to Asif Zardari to pour ketchup in his plate and then turned around to inform us, “Asif sahab likes his patty with ketchup.” As Asif gave her an approving smile she suddenly broke up in tears. A little taken aback, Asif explained that her husband Pir Muqaram Ali Shah was also in jail for a printing case fraud.
You could not tell from her gaudy clothes or from the neon red lipstick that she could have been slightly distressed over her husband’s imprisonment or from her hunky-dory demeanor a while ago. But when she cried her tears were the size of water melons. Everybody was moved—Asif Zardari the most. Asif told us that she was such a good party worker that she would miss her husband's hearing but never his own. No surprises there. Then he cajoled her affectionately, his grin as broad as Suez, saying, “Come on girlie, give me a little more ketchup. Instantly, she cheered up like a doll. This woman, I thought, should either be nominated for a Mother Teresa award or be given an Oscar for her superb acting. Whether in Hollywood or Vatican, I was sure then that this woman would go places.

Please don't spread misinformation. This was not to ridicule Zardari's term but just point out what is misinformation. There are more documented and embarrasing stuff in public about Zardari's term in confinement.
This. This is the core of everything happening. Let me try and paint a picture of information available to us.True that. Why they want to impose doctor of their own choice over someone they don't care about? Or they do, to kill him strategically.
You want to debate Zardari's jail term? Let's speak factually here then. I'm doing this only because you mentioned I'm spreading misinformation, so here we go. The post you quoted is from Amir Mateen for a Pakistani publication. Let's look at some international publications from archive now. Refute something factually.Ironic, considering you are spreading misinformation here

Biggest icon after jinnah? What an insult for jinnah.
If he qas a big icon people would had come out on the streets, like ppl did so for ZAB
Based on what? Talk on facts not on emotions.ZAB? That fraud couldn’t even win an election against Mujeeb Ur Rehman despite Establishment support. No comparison between ZAB and Imran Khan. Imran Khan is a bigger and a better leader than ZAB.
Imran Khan won an election from jail with his party not even being allowed to campaign or allocated a unified election symbol. On top that the establishment went above and beyond to support PML-N and PPP.ZAB? That fraud couldn’t even win an election against Mujeeb Ur Rehman despite Establishment support. No comparison between ZAB and Imran Khan. Imran Khan is a bigger and a better leader than ZAB.
Seriously! How can he speak if his tongue was “cut”.They cut his tongue.. royal treatment? Lol sure
Just so before Major responds to your post. Zardari was indeed tormented to physical torture primarily during the earlier part of his arrest in early 90s where his tongue was damaged. This is correct fact.Seriously! How can he speak if his tongue was “cut”.
Every time the pig opens his mouth you can see his complete tongue. So what exactly was cut?

Oh, so locality comes into play. Excellent argument!Atleast i live in this country and didnt ran away like the most of u did
This. This is the core of everything happening. Let me try and paint a picture of information available to us.
So basically there are well documented information that Asim Munir had met Nawaz Sharif in London (before his return to Pakistan) whereby they agreed upon power sharing should PMLN take power of Government after IK removal and Asim Munir to be placed as COAS.
Sharif was very specific in his London meeting with Asim that IK should suffer the fate of hardship like he has faced over the years. Fast forward we have seen the intense crackdown on PTI supporters, courts turning against Khan, assassination attempt, imprisonment, wife and family ridiculed, supporters traumatized and jailed, civil liberties destroyed and pretty much every moral fabric tarnished as far as PTI is concerned.
The one night the plans got a major bump for the regime was on 8th Feb 2024. There was absolutely no way imagined by the regime that IK's PTI would sweep the elections. Their party wasn't allowed to contest, election symbols didn't exist, leaders imprisoned, no public gathering whatsoever (crackdown on even cars or bikes carrying PTI flags), no screentime on media and on day of election no mobile internet either. Yet IK's PTI sweeped the elections. This was a major dent in the regime's plan and since that day that have totally set aside their public mask and became as unashamed version of themselves as they can be.
Let's fast forward further, Asim was intent on getting 27th amendment (lifetime immunity and continue to remain COAS) through before November and Nawaz Sharif had made it clear in documented newsflashes that he hasn't "resolved" Imran Khan's issue yet. Nawaz was pointing out to the fact that IK was still prevalent in the media albeit indirectly and still carried massive popularity. I believe somewhere in late 2024 or early 2025, Asim confirmed to Nawaz that IK issue will be taken care of (perhaps pointing out to his elimination). This is after the November 2024 massacre that happened.
This is primarily the time when IK's personal physicians last met Khan, I believe it was November 2024. So since Nov 2024 till today (15 months) or so IK hasn't met his personal physicians. There was no grave reason previously for IK's physician to not meet him but now that all kind of makes sense. At this stage I don't want to connect the dots and point out to any conspiracy theories but just want to point out to Shahbaz Shareef's TT case where under mysterious conditions 6 people died of heart attacks which included primary officer responsible for investigating the case, primary witness and victims. All of the said died within months, this regime is brutal and criminal.
So its clear that regime doesn't want IK's physicians to examine him since Nov 2024, so something has started since then. IK only spoke with his kids twice in entire 2025. IK has been in solitary confinement since Nov 2025 (he met his sister once in Dec for 15 mins) and meeting government officials is still considered to be solitary confinement. If we read Safdar's report its very clear that IK has no interaction with anyone outside the jail officials, no family or doctor visits, no meet with any other prisoners, no access to books or literature. This is definitely mental torture and I'm sure Asim Munir will never let IK out as things IK would have to say that he has endured over the past 3 years would be more than just damning.
Now folks on here would have some color on what has been brewing in Pakistan and how we got to this stage.
