Imran Khan shot in the leg in assassination attempt during rally in Wazirabad

not surprised that you have issues in reading.. Read the post, what is being talked about and laughed about.

I think my post clearly talks about the hilariousness in PTI fans not trusting an investigation which falls under PTI domain.

:)))

I am glad you are in such good spirits bro, just wondering if you would have been posting LOLs galore back in the day when Benazir went up in smoke.

If you are gonna try to score points, its better to actually know the event.

Benazir never died in a fire.....

It was a head injury.

Also, Imran is alive, and its being investigated whether he faked an attack or it was a genuine attack.

In an impoverished suburb, neighbours of a mild-mannered scrap trader expressed shock on Friday that he was being held over an attempt on the life of former prime minister Imran Khan.

"We used to exchange pleasantries whenever we crossed paths in the street," 34-year-old Shamshad Ali told AFP. "I found him to be a soft-spoken person, without an iota of anger."

Naveed Ahmad is the sole suspect in custody after the PTI chief was wounded by a spray of gunfire at a political rally in the eastern city of Wazirabad on Thursday.

An apparent confession video leaked by police -- and cited by the government -- shows Ahmad saying he attacked Khan because his protest interrupted the call to prayer which summons Muslims to mosques five times daily.

The government's interior minister Rana Sanaullah said the attack was motivated on religious grounds.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), however, has condemned what it called a "conspiracy", accusing government ministers and military generals of masterminding the attack.

In the town of Sodhra -- on the outskirts of Wazirabad -- AFP found Ahmad’s family home padlocked shut, down a dingy narrow alley lined by an open sewer.

Neighbours said his mother, wife and two sons were picked up by police shortly after the attack in which the former prime minister suffered non-life-threatening leg injuries, halting his march towards the federal capital.

Police have not yet commented on the incident, but Punjab government officials confirmed the suspect's name.

Muhammad Munir, who makes the call to prayer at the local mosque, watched Ahmad come to worship there "quite often" but considered him "the kind of a person who minds his own business".

"I never heard anything negative about him," the 55-year-old said. "I never saw him fighting or exchanging harsh words with anyone."

"Naveed was a simple boy and had no leanings towards any religious parties," said 26-year-old Abrar Ahmad, no relation of the alleged attacker.

Numerous neighbours said Ahmad inherited a junk store from his deceased father and had worked in Saudi Arabia.

"I am surprised at how Naveed, who belongs to a poor family, dared to make such an attempt," said local grocer 36-year-old Muhammad Saleem.

Benazir death was not accidental

That is the point.

Score points? It's a bit beyond scoring points when the leaders of your country keep coming under assassination attempts. That is what I find it surprising that people who actually live in Pakistan can seem so jolly when someone they don't support gets gunned down. I guess you only want democracy when it suits you. Keep LOL'ing though, might as well enjoy it.

LAHORE: Police arrested two more suspects related to the firing on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s long march container in Wazirabad, as interrogation of the suspected arrested from the scene continued on Friday.

Police identified the arrested suspected as Naveed. The alleged shooter was in the custody of the district police but on Friday, he was moved to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Centre.

It is learnt that the police arrested two more suspects, identified as Waqas and Faisal Butt, on pointation of the prime suspect Naveed, the suspected shooter. Naveed told officers that the he bought the gun and 26 bullets for Rs20,000.

The suspect however did not point out to anyone during the initial investigations. He remained firmed that he acted alone and claimed that a few speeches of Imran Khan hurt of his religious sentiment.

His mobile phone reportedly had those clips. Besides, speeches of a few religious scholars were also recovered from his mobile phone. The suspect said that he used to hear the speeches of the religious scholars.

Naveed told the investigators that he was frustrated because Imran Khan was misleading the nation and had also uttered blasphemous and anti-religion words, according to sources, close to the investigation.
It transpired during the interrogation that Naveed attempted to target Imran initially from a rooftop. For that purpose, he also went into a mosque but could not get a chance.

Afterwards, after walked towards the container and opened firing from a distance of over a dozen feet. He said that he had fired a burst of around eight bullets before his handgun jammed after a bullet got stuck.

Naveed also claimed that the guards on the container shot back at him and a bullet fired from guards hit the Moazam, the deceased march participant.

Meanwhile, the investigators recovered 11 empties from the crime scene. Reportedly, those had been fired from two different weapons –a pistol and an automated assault rifle.

The investigators decided to conduct forensic examination of the empties and the slug recovered from the body of the deceased person as well as the weapons which were in use of the guards.

The investigators have also decided to conduct a polygraphic test to seek an expert opinion if the prime suspect had been telling the truth. The investigation teams are also searching for others clues to other suspects in the case.

So far the investigation had not find out any evidence that could lead them to the involvement of another shooter, unlike the claims of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership.

Meanwhile, the FIR of the incident had not been registered despite the passage of more than 24 hours.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan in speech from the hospital had talked about three suspects. However, the authorities did not agree on naming those persons in the FIR.

Centre offers help

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Friday the federal government was ready to provide its assistance in the investigation of assassination attempt on former prime minister Imran Khan.

Imran was shot at and injured on Thursday evening when a suspect, standing in front of the container carrying the PTI chief and senior party leaders, showered a volley of bullets with an automatic pistol.

If person x standing 1 metre away shoots person y straight to the head in front of your eyes… you’d still ask for an investigation to be done on whether or not person x shot person y.

were you standing there to see that the bullet shot by person y is the same that hit person x? Did person x even get shot?

These are questions that even the court would ask.

Like I said let investigation be done, than we can conclude whether it was genuine assassination attempt or not.

These thugs can't be trusted. They blackmail people. Look at the Swati presser and you will see that none of these thugs can't be trusted. Back to BB murder, what happened to the investigation, where is the results. Why did the PPP mot investigate?

Which court? The SC has gone to sleep. We are living under Martial law and all the mafia are on the one side. Your midgets are fronts for Bajwa

Even your friend Rana said it was an attempt on his life but he used the excuse of a religious nut, which Latif, Nani etc have been building upto for months.

bhaijan, im repeating this again.

Punjab is PTI, you dont trust your own party to conduct an investigation? or you just dont want an investigation to take place?

The Punjab Police isn't. They are controlled by the mafia and it doesn't matter who is in charge, they will get blackmailed by the ISI. You saw what happened on the 25th. Do you think they can ever go against their controllers? This wasn't one nut, a whole narrative was created by Nanis front man Latif and Nani herself to give cover the religious nut credibility. The ***** was just one of at least 2 or 3 shooters. Your guys now that it's do or die, it's either IK or them. There isn't space for democracy and the mafia.

I think Pakistani Establishments create narratives as they want, this is probably the first time it has backfired because they allowed IK into their group and then try to overthrow him.

While there have been dislike for Pakistani generals before this is the first time Pakistani people have been exposed to the dangerous nexus of power.

Any sane person should support the current anti-Establishment narrative because it’s working full time against its own people.

Usually establishments across the world take into the factor what’s good for their country or incorporate changes based on the current mood of the country, this is not happening here.

Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi, who is also a son of Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Ealhi, held an important meeting with PTI Chairman Imran Khan at Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Lahore, ARY News reported.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to the registration of FIR following an attack on Imran Khan and others issues came under discussion.

According to sources privy to the matter, the former prime minister also directed Moonis Elahi to remove Inspector General (IG) Punjab Faisal Shahkar from his post.

Moonis Elahi accepted Imran Khan’s demand and assured him the removal of IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar.

“Pervaiz Elahi was made the chief minister of Punjab because of you,” he said, adding that they [CM Punjab] will implement on his directions.

The difference with IG Punjab surfaced after he refused to register FIR of attack on Imran Khan during PTI long march.

Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and other PTI leaders were injured after a man opened fire near the PTI reception camp at Allahwala Chowk during the party’s long march on Thursday evening.

Yesterday, PTI Chief Imran Khan said that three people including PM Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Rana Sanauhllah are responsible for the attack on PTI long march n Gujranwala.

In his initial remarks, Imran Khan said that he received four bullets in the gun attack during PTI’s long march in Wazirabad and Dr Faisal Sultan will give a briefing about his injuries.

I remember arguing with you once when you said the estb is in control. As sad as it is you were right. I didn't know HOW much they were in control. PDM has no support now at all, the areas where Nawaz would win in a landslide are all PTI now. I would be very surprised if Khan manages to come back

The cornered tiger is now wounded. And a wounded tiger/lion is more dangerous than a hungry one. Everyone should watch out.

No issues ,I'm certain everyone is taken aback at how reluctant Pakistani est is to bring IK back into their group inspite of such huge support on ground across the world.

I think he will come back ,I can't imagine the entire GHQ being in favor of what's happening just needs a lot of luck and time but as they say fortune favors the brave.

Fair, I can't see it unless there is mass civil unrest or he somehow lasts till elections because I have a bad feeling they will try to take him out again. This Pakistani public only has limited protests in them, we can never do what Sri Lankans did. Civil war would see the end of the Pakistani state and the Pakistani nation, the US will swoop in to 'protect' our nukes and I am sure the Indians will seize whatever they can get and we will become a Syria or an Afghanistan. I suspect this is the only thing stopping Khan going all out against the estb.

There are literal videos of Nawaz and his corrupt spawn naming and shaming estb but that was halal. I saw a paper clipping yesterday of Liaqat Ali Khan saying in 1951 about a conspiracy against his gov from the army, he got assassinated. Fatima Jinnah, hated by the military, died as well. I remember seeing her medical report online years ago, her eyes had tell tale signs of strangulation. Benazir the same. Now its Khan's turn at their hands.

Estb does not care who or how much loots the country as long as their gravy train is safe. There is a widely available leak from Bajwa online, listen to it, their meddling against the gov was unreal. He admits Khan did not appoint their choice of CMs, esp in Punjab.

I am glad I am not living back in Pakistan. Not sure I will see any change in my lifetime.

Look bro, all Indians think the establishment contorls everything, its a narrative Indian media has feeding its people for decades.

They have huge power and influence but no control over what people desire. Remember Imran criticised Mushy early on in his political career but wasnt murdered or stopped because he was known to Pakistanis. Now he is loved more than anyone alive in Pak and one of the most loved in Pak history. They cant control him even if they want.

IMRAN KHAN ATTACK: CTD ARRESTS ANOTHER SUSPECT FROM WAZIRABAD

GUJRANWALA: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police on Monday claimed to have arrested another suspect from Wazirabad in a case related to a gun attack on PTI chief Imran Khan during Azadi Long March, ARY News reported.

According to the CTD spokesperson, the suspect was arrested from Wazirabad Mobile Market, who is a resident of Sodhra.

So far the five including the main suspect Naveed have been arrested by the CTD and an investigation into the incident of an assassination attempt on former prime minister Imran Khan was underway.

On Sunday, Wazirabad Police and other law enforcement agencies in a joint operation arrested four persons of a family in the attack over PTI long march convoy in Wazirabad.

“The pistol used in an assassination attempt on Imran Khan belongs to a resident of Chak 82-Junoobi,” police had said.

The PTI chief and other party leaders were injured after a man opened fire near the PTI reception camp at Allahwala Chowk during the party’s long march.

Imran Khan underwent an operation at the hospital for the removal of bullets from his leg and he was discharged from the hospital on Sunday evening.

A party official was also killed in Thursday’s attack in Wazirabad.

I don’t think he faked it, but these allegations will surface because everyone knows that Imran is the biggest liar this nation has ever seen.

Imran has a habit of making things up. But their is something fishy about this attack. Why would the Police leak a confessional video of the attacker almost half an hour after the attack.

It seems like their were some orders from higher authorities, to make the general public believe that this was some religious extremist attack.

Good article on Imran Khans popularity and the frustation of the traitors, the bolded parts in particular are relevant.

Even as Pakistan grapples with the fallout from severe flooding, throngs of people have continued to take to the streets to push for radical change. The shooting earlier this month of former Prime Minister Imran Khan at one of these protests has brought the country to a tipping point.

Today, Khan’s popularity as a political leader is at its peak - and this is precisely why he is now in trouble. Removed from office in April after losing a no-confidence vote orchestrated by his political enemies, he has displayed an indefatigable resolve to fight back.

What has followed has been nothing less than historic. Pakistan has seen many civilian politicians deposed unceremoniously, but the bulk of ordinary people have been fairly indifferent to such elite intrigues. The nation’s curse has been that sometimes the civilian politicians in power, and their blatant plundering of the country, have actually made military rule seem better - or at least no different.

Khan’s ouster engendered anger among large segments of the population, who believed that the “Khan experiment” was now dead. His decision to fight back is frankly miraculous in a country where wealth and power are so obscenely monopolised by the civilian and military elites who despise Khan.

Across the country, Khan has held rallies to reinvigorate a population that otherwise might have fallen into despair over the restoration of the old political order. In the scorching heat of the summer and through the devastating floods, Khan has not budged an inch on his simple core demand: that the country holds elections to determine who should govern.

Desperately seeking change
Yet, what seems like a fairly banal demand is anathema to the traditional mainstream political parties. The Pakistan Muslim League (N) in particular, whose leader Shehbaz Sharif has been appointed prime minister without a mandate from the people, is in panic mode. It has long been accustomed to dominating the most powerful and populous province of the country, Punjab, which was reclaimed in July by-elections by Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The rise of Khan’s PTI has been no small feat, with the relatively young party breaking the stranglehold of the two-party duopoly that dominated the country’s political life for decades. Clearly, Pakistanis desperately want change.

Pakistan’s ruling elites have tried pretty much everything to curb this trend, seeking to outlaw voting by overseas Pakistanis, who overwhelmingly support Khan. Police hit Khan with absurd “terrorism” charges, and the state’s election commission recently disqualified him from contesting elections. Rather than addressing the gargantuan social and economic problems facing Pakistan, the regime is clearly fixated on destroying Khan.

But the government is not the only player in this saga. Khan enjoys widespread support within the ranks of the Pakistani military, perhaps explaining why the heavily militarised national security state has been so reluctant to repress popular mobilisations. If such orders were issued, there is a real risk that soldiers’ guns could turn the other way, sparking a rebellion within the military.

These are the same armed forces that for the past two decades, have been forced to sacrifice and die for the American “war on terror”. By this point, they are surely more attracted to Khan’s pledge to be a friend of the US in peace but not in war, than to any new orders the military high command might devise in connivance with Washington.

Meanwhile, illegal detentions, torture, and murders are happening on this government’s watch. High-profile journalist Arshad Sharif, who had exposed corruption in the regime, was killed last month in strange circumstances after he fled to Kenya. Pakistan’s political groups have been thoroughly exposed for their hypocrisy, lies, and opportunism.

Uncertainty ahead
At this point, we can only speculate as to the motivation for Khan’s shooting last week. He was wounded in the leg, in what his supporters have called an assassination attempt. If a trained shooter from Pakistan’s intelligence agencies wanted to kill Khan, many observers believe, then that would have been the outcome.

Rather, some say the shooting might have been a warning to Khan and his supporters, one of whom died in the same incident after sustaining bullet wounds. But this explanation seems weak because the whole world knows by now that virtually nothing could deter Khan from openly confronting the powers-that-be, whether in Islamabad or Washington.

Whatever the motivation, this could backfire badly, adding momentum to Khan’s push for change. The former prime minister has emphasised that his rallies and marches must remain peaceful, and indeed, the demonstrations thus far have been incredibly disciplined.

At the same time, we must not lose sight of the larger geopolitical power plays at work here. Khan has accused Washington of being behind a conspiracy to keep him from the halls of power. At a time when the US has been humiliated by its former puppets - including Saudi Arabia and India, which have refused to go along with the “new cold war” that the US is waging against China and Russia - Washington apparently wants to revive relations with the formidable Pakistani military.

Khan is no revolutionary socialist, but he believes that Pakistan has the right to maintain its own independent foreign policy. For that reason, he will remain an impediment to Washington.

While the outcome of this chaotic situation is deeply uncertain, one thing is crystal clear: The political battle is between Khan and the overwhelming majority of Pakistanis on one side, and the powerful and wealthy civilian and military elites (sponsored by Washington) on the other. Despite legitimate criticisms of how Khan governed when in power, progressives must be able to figure out where they stand now.

Imran may disagree with this post. In his recent interviews he has taken a different stand on the US sponsorship and does not want to bring that in again anticipating he will be in power when the the next election takes place.

SECURITY PLAN FOR IMRAN KHAN’S ARRIVAL IN RAWALPINDI FINALISED

LAHORE: The security plan ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan’s arrival in Rawalpindi to lead Azadi March has been finalized on Tuesday, ARY News reported.

As per the special security plan finalized for Imran Khan after the gun attack in Wazirabad, more than 6,000 policemen will be deployed for security.

Sharpshooters will be deployed at the buildings on the route of the long march convoy, while the march will be monitored through CCTV and drone cameras.

Welcome camps will be established at Murree Road from tomorrow, while special security will surround the container of former prime minister Imran Khan during Azadi March in Rawalpindi.

The caravan which will resume its journey to Islamabad is currently in Jaranwala. After the gun attack, Imran Khan is addressing the participants of the march via video link on daily basis.

On November 6, while addressing a press conference in Lahore, the former premier said that he will join the long march from Rawalpindi.

“The march will reach Rawalpindi in the next 10 to 14 days,” he said, adding: “I will be in Rawalpindi to lead the people.”

Imran reiterated that he holds responsible “three men for the attack” on his long march container. PTI Chairman said that he has every right to have them nominated in the FIR.

Punjab cop opens Wazirabad inquiry
Initial report claims bulletproof vest and rostrum were not used despite police request

A top Punjab police officer has opened investigation into the failed assassination attempt on the life of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

Inspector general of police (IGP) Punjab had directed additional inspector general of police (AIGP) inquiries to investigate the case as per the letter issued by the provincial home department.

The inquiry team recorded statements of policemen after visiting the crime scene. The team will submit the report to IGP after looking into the long march security and the leaked video of the accused.

AIGP also met regional police officer (RPO) Gujrat, deputy superintendent police (DSP) Wazirabad and Station House Officer (SHO) as he visited the crime scene along with his team.

As per the initial reports of the team, 521 policemen were deployed around the container while 150 snipers were positioned at the rooftops. Police were not allowed to go to Imran Khan’s container.

Initial report revealed that bulletproof vest and rostrum were not used despite police request.

As per the report, police apprehended the culprit from an abandoned junkyard at 04:12pm - five minutes after the firing incident, which took place at 04:07pm. The accused handed over to the police station at 04:53pm under the supervision of SHO Shahbaz Hanjra.

It further claimed that the team had acquired the video recordings of the stay of accused at the station from 4:53pm to 6pm as the accused was taken away from the station by counter terrorism department (CTD). The team will further investigate as to whose phone was used to make the video and who was it sent to, further expanding the scope of investigation.

Videos of crime scene, made by police, and CCTV cameras around the crime scene have already been acquired. Statements of policemen will be recorded at the capital city police officer (CCPO)’s office within two days to further clarify the situation and lead the case to its logical conclusion.

Imran's life under threat as per intelligence reports: IHC chief justice

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq has said the intelligence reports had revealed that there were fears of an attack on former prime minister Imran Khan, adding that “the government and the state have the responsibility to look into this aspect.”

He passed these remarks after a report was presented in court detailing looming threats to the PTI chairman during the long march. The IHC took up a petition pertaining to the inconvenience caused by the PTI protest today.

At one point during the hearing, the IHC CJ said: “Lodging a protest is the right of political and non-political entities, but the rights of citizens should not be violated in its wake.”

The hearing was adjourned till Nov 22.

PTI march ‘shooter’ sticks to his initial statement
JIT interrogated Naveed Ahmad thrice as well as two men who sold him weapon

LAHORE:
The suspect arrested for firing at the PTI’s “Haqeeqi Azadi March” on November 3, injuring party chief Imran Khan while he was leading the rally in Punjab’s Wazirabad area, has stuck to his initial statement while being interrogated thrice by the joint investigation team (JIT).

Sources said the interrogators of the JIT even went harsh on the suspect, Naveed Ahmad, but he still did not budge from his initial statement that he had acted alone and some speeches of Imran hurt his religious sentiments.

He also told the earlier investigators that he used to hear the speeches of a few religious scholars. The clips of Dr Israr Ahmad, Late Maulana Khadim Rizvi and his son Hafiz Saad Rizvi were also recovered from his mobile phone.

Naveed told the previous investigators that he was frustrated because Imran was allegedly misleading the nation and had also uttered “blasphemous and anti-religious words”.

The sources said the JIT interrogators had changed their questions each time they grilled him, but he remained firm.

They added that Sajid and Waqas, the men who had provided the weapon to the attacker, were also interrogated.

Naveed would now be subjected to a polygraph test to determine the truth. The sources said there were 500 police personnel deployed for the security of the long march. They added that statements of the security personnel would be recorded in the next phase.

The head of the JIT spent the day in Wazirabad. The police had said the suspected shooter was arrested after PTI supporter Ibtesam Hasan overpowered him and threw off his aim, possibly saving the ex-premier from more serious gunshot wounds.

In a statement to the police, Naveed said he bought 26 bullets along with a pistol through a man named Waqas from Wazirabad.

During interrogation with major investigation agencies including Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), the suspect revealed that first he tried to attack the PTI chief from a roof of the mosque but he was not allowed to go there because of Asar prayers.

Naveed reached the crime scene through the bypass road where he asked the people participating in the march to turn off the loudspeaker playing party’s anthem.

The suspect also claimed that the guards on the container shot back at him and a bullet fired from them hit Moazam, the deceased march participant.

Earlier this month, a relative of the PTI chairman had moved an application to register an FIR against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Major General Faisal Naseer, the three suspects named by Imran behind the botched assassination attempt on his life.

However, the FIR was registered on the complaint of a sub-inspector police and the three top officials cited by the PTI chief have not been nominated in the case.

Shortly after the attack, PTI leader and former federal minister Asad Umar issued a video statement, accompanied by a fellow party member and provincial minister Aslam Iqbal.

In the statement, Umar disclosed that both of them had a conversation with Imran after the attack and the PTI chief revealed that he already had information about it.

The former minister said the PTI chief was certain that the men who had planned the attack were the prime minister, interior minister and a top military officer.

Legal fraternity seeks ‘effective accountability’ of judiciary

ISLAMABAD: Members of two bar associations on Friday called for “effective accountability” of judiciary and registration of FIRs on journalist Arshad Sharif’s murder, Senator Azam Swati’s video clip and assassination attempt on Pakistan Thereek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

It may be mentioned that an FIR has been registered in the PTI chief’s case but he has rejected it, saying it lacks names of people he suspects of being behind the gun attack on his Wazirabad rally earlier this month.

The demands were made through a joint resolution issued by the Islam*abad High Court Bar Associa*tion (IHCBA) and Islamabad Bar Asso*cia*tion (IBA) after a seminar the two bodies had organised on ‘Rule of Law’.

The resolution demanded that the Supreme Judicial Council be made active and operational so that accountability of all privileged institutions could be done in a transparent manner.

The two organisations emphasised that there should be “no abuse of power” by any privileged institution, lawmakers, leaders, judges, bureaucracy (both civil and military)”. They called for action against “the persons responsible for the abuse of power” and those who had violated the civil rights.

They said that all citizens, institutions and privileged persons should be held accountable without any discrimination. At the same time, they added, state institutions must be independent, impartial and custodian of the rights and liabilities enunciated under the Constitution and law.

The resolution demanded registration of FIRs in the cases of Arshad Sharif, Mr Swati and the Wazirabad incident as per the demands of the complainants.

The lawyers’ bodies said that the “Judicial Commission of Pakistan should adhere to the principle of seniority in the elevation of Supreme Court judges until and unless the rules are framed for this purpose. Moreover, the elevation of judges in the High Courts may also be made on merit”.

They supported the creation of new benches of Lahore High Court at the divisional level in Punjab to ensure dispensation of inexpensive and expeditious justice in accordance with principles laid down in Article 37(d) of the Constitution.

They sought freedom of speech and expression as guaranteed under the Constitution.

The resolution said that the elite’s capture of the system must be ended and every citizen must be treated alike and equal with the obvious principle of equal protection of law. Civilian supremacy is the key for political stability while political stability continuing with good governance is the basic factor for achieving the economic stability.

According to the resolution, “all the democratic forces must work for civilian supremacy, [and] political and economic stability.”

Three attackers involved in attempt on Imran’s life, Punjab JIT concludes

The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Wazirabad attack on PTI chairman Imran Khan has reportedly found that the attack was carried out from three different shooting sites.

An official privy to the findings said shots were fired by ‘three unknown shooters, from unknown weapons’ from a considerable height other than the gun attack carried out by the suspect, Naveed Meher, arrested from the spot.

The JIT in question was formed by the Pun*jab government and, led by Lahore Capital City Police Officer Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, only comprises police officials from the province rather than personnel from across the various law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

“The JIT claimed, in its findings, that Imran Khan was hit by three bullets on the container-mounted-truck during the PTI’s Azadi March in Wazirabad,” the official said.

He said the findings of the JIT were almost complete and a report would be issued soon after receiving some pending reports from the Pun*jab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA).

The head of the joint investigation team (JIT) probing into the assassination attempt on former prime minister Imran Khan in Wazirabad has proposed departmental action against four senior members of the panel for allegedly handling the probe unprofessionally and damaging the high-profile case.

Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, who heads the JIT, has also proposed action against two other senior pol*ice officers, including Gujrat DPO Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah and an SSP CTD, who isn’t part of the probe team, for allegedly recording a video statement of the prime suspect arrested from the attack spot and leaking it to the media.

In his report sent to the additional chief secretary (home), Mr Dogar has leveled allegations of non-professionalism, misuse of office, tampering with evidence and leaking of confidential information about the investigation to the media against the probe team members.

These allegations follow a letter the four members recently wrote to the CCPO, expressing serious reservations over the way he was trying to influence the investigation process, and also disputed claims that there were multiple shooters involved in the attack.

The primary accused for the alleged assassination attempt against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has challenged the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the matter.

Naveed, who allegedly shot the former premier, filed an application before the Interior Ministry on Thursday, claiming that the JIT was showing political malice.

The application furthered that differences among members of the investigation team were confirmed in official correspondence.

According to the complaint, the JIT chief introduced fictitious witnesses and suspects in the case and produced false self-made evidence. It added that the witnesses and suspects introduced by the JIT chief had met with him.

The application stated that JIT chief Ghulam Mehmood Dogar and civil officer Anwar Shah included fake witnesses and accused in the case to please Imran Khan.

It continued that after the JIT chiefs made serious allegations against each other, they handed over the investigation to a civil officer. The petition maintained that according to the law, a civil officer could not investigate a case of terrorism.

The petition added that the head of JIT and the civil officer were denying the petitioner his constitutional and legal rights.

There is a special place in hell for Zardari and his evil minions, Insha'Allah.

Let's take the example of Sharifs, who steal money off Punjabis in rural areas etc.
In Punjab, thanks to The Sustainer Ar-Razzaaq, we have enough water and food. People in Punjab will always have enough food for their children, Insha'Allah.

Bhuttos/Zardaris, on the other hand, steal literal food off the Poor of Sindh. Imagine stealing bread/wheat off the poor who can't even afford shoes for their children. Can one go any lower? This billionaire ($) English speaking family stole literal wheat from poor of Sindh and stored the money in Swiss banks.

But we do. My little one has never even been to PK and it hurts him. A guy phoned me from PK ( he is from my town here) and cried at what he had seen and his descriptions made me cry. PK is our identity and it pains us to see the land our fathers built and defended become a total basket. The Quaid and Allama didn't create PK so that we become serfs for AZ, NS and the Generals

Of course we want a happy place as its our motherland but if not , we arent really suffering. The people who live there need to sort this out but it seems the corrupt are the ones who have more motivation. Its not something I would stress about, thats pointless.

In a ***-for-tat response to allegations levelled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan against former president Asif Ali Zardari a day earlier, Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday said that former prime minister must realise that every time his wife has a dream, he cannot just come on TV and make accusations against people as “her dreams won’t stand up in court”.

The PTI chairman on Friday had claimed that a new plan was hatched for his assassination, accusing Bilawal's father of being a key conspirator.

"After terrorist outfits called myself & my party out by name in direct threats, Imran has now made false accusations against my father former president AZ (Asif Zardari)," Bilawal wrote on his official Twitter handle.

He said that Imran's statements have increased threats for his father, his family and his party and they will take them "seriously" given the history, the PPP chairman said in an apparent reference to his mother former prime minister Benazir Bhutto's assassination in Rawalpindi in 2007.

"We are exploring legal response to Imran’s latest defamatory & dangerous accusations. In the past he threatened my father that he was ‘in the crosshairs of his gun’. His & his associates’ history as both sympathisers & facilitators of terrorists are well documented," he said.

When in power, Bilawal said, Imran released terrorists and arrested democrats and handed over Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to terrorist organization.

"His party funds terrorist groups to this day. All of this will be taken into account if any attack were to take place against myself, my father, or my party."

The foreign minister said that Imran's latest accusation that his family has any association with a terrorist organisation or that they would employ them to cause him harm not only defies logic but exposes them all to an increased threat.

"PPP will challenge him. We cannot let populist fiction dominate our discourse, poison our politics & damage our democracy. We will not tolerate being victims of terrorist & put up with propaganda from their political frontmen," he concluded.

The hard-hitting statement comes a day after the former prime minister termed the alleged conspiracy ‘Plan-C’ for which he accused Zardari of paying money to a terrorist outfit to carry out the assassination attempt on his life.

“Now they have made a Plan C, and Asif Zardari is behind this. He has loads of corruption money, which he loots from the Sindh government and spends on winning elections. He [Zardari] has given money to a terrorist outfit and people from powerful agencies are facilitating him,” Imran said during a news conference from his Zaman Park residence in Lahore via a video.

“This has been decided on three fronts and they will act soon,” he added. “I am telling you this because if something happens to me the nation should know the people, who were behind this, so that the nation never forgives them,” he said.

Referring to the gun attack on him in Wazirabad in November last year, Imran further claimed that there was a plot to kill him under ‘Plan-B’ in the name of religious extremism. “They almost succeeded in their plan to kill me but now they are moving towards Plan-C,” he added.

Earlier today, PPP announced plans to send a legal notice to Imran over his allegations.

Addressing the media, PPP leaders Farhatullah Babar, Nayyar Bukhari, and Qamar Zaman Kaira criticised the deposed PM over his allegations. According to the PPP members, the former premier had “lost his mind” and the party would issue a legal notice demanding he rescinds his allegations.

PTI leaders in Lahore have vowed to protect party chief Imran Khan at any cost amid fears of his arrest, insisting that he was their red line.

In a meeting chaired by PTI Secre*tary General Asad Umar, party representatives in the city decided to ensure Mr Khan’s security and duties were assigned to leaders in this regard.

Earlier on Wednesday, scores of supporters gathered outside Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence to resist a pot*e*n*tial bid to arrest him. Top party lea*der Fawad Chaudhry has been arre*sted since then on sedition charges.

In the meeting, Mr Umar said the current government was responsible for all the crises facing the country and lamented that even at such a critical time, the rulers were prospering while the financial situation of the masses was worsening. He said the rulers were busy getting their corruption cases cleared and victimising PTI leaders.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Sunday that PTI chief Imran Khan’s recent claims regarding ex-president Asif Ali Zardari “could cause bloodshed in the country”, adding that it could also pose a threat to the lives of the PPP leadership.

In a startling allegation, Imran on Friday accused Zardari of being part of a plan to “get rid of him”, alleging that after “two” failed attempts on his life, the four people — who he has previously claimed to have hatched a conspiracy to kill him — along with the PPP leader, have now prepared a “Plan C” to eliminate him.

“Asif Zardari has paid his corruption money to a terrorist organisation being supported by powerful state agency facilitators to launch another attack on me,” he alleged in a televised address from his Zaman Park residence.
