^are you watching somewhere? You said good shot, or is that from the audio commentary?
Seems like a flat track or our guys are bowling crap.
Either way, no worries, if it's a flat track in the test, it will be a draw or we'll win. Our frontline pacers shouldn't be so crap especially if the tracks have any juice, which they most probably will.
Mishra sucks...
Getting smashed by Appiah and another scrub....
ANybody watching the game, can you tell us what is going on? Are they even playing seriously?![]()
Warm ups will be on dead pitches and then they will get hit with crazy wickets in the test match. England are setting them up nicely here.
Pakistan used to anhilate county teams in Warm ups, so dont expect this to be an indicator.

Looks like Sreesanth gained a few pounds.![]()
May be Zak wasn't bowling up to his potential and took it easy as it was a practice game...
But for the likes of Sreesanth, Munaf and Mishra who will be looking to impress selectors, it was a pathetic effort... Those guys would have given their best and yet got destroyed by Appiah and county players...
There is a reason why Sreesanth never panned out... He just does not have it..
lol it happens, we don't have the best bowling line up in the world nor is bowling our main strength. But don't get too disappointed, remember the centurion test? where our bowlers were made look like school cricketers but the next 2 tests our bowlers were back in rythm. So I'd say don't lose hope too soon, we're slow starters.
Not being able to take the wicket of one of the most mediocre players on the county scene is incredibly slow by anyone's standards. Start off slow against England and you will get annihilated.
These claims have been made time and again (Like claims that we would be white-washed 3-0 in SA after centurion test). I say let us decide this after the series starts, shall we?![]()
But we're not chokers like they are! Why does everyone bring up SA? Oh right, you've drawn them, and suddenly you make it sound as if you trounced them 2-0 or something like that.
The main defense of India touring being a good side is a 1-1 draw in SA, and their last Aussie tour ages ago, whereas for our own form, we point to 3-1 wins against Pakistan and Australia?
Honestly, I think it will be 2-1 in England's favour, I'm not predicting a trouncing, but I'm hinting that England will do well. I believe they are all around better than SA (have you seen their middle-lower middle order? And Steyn and Morkel are class, but Jimmy and Tremlett are in between those two in terms of skill, and probably average out to the same, along with Swann who beats Paul Harris comfortably) If you point to Amla, we point to Cook, Of Kallis we show Trott. If you point to deVilliers, we have Bell and Morgan (on current form both are well worth it), and KP compares favourably. Show me a wicketkeeper batsman who is better than Prior from the SA team. For that matter, Prior is in better nick than Dhoni! If you point to Duminy, I laugh. I'm not predicting 3-0 like so many were for the SA trip. I'm predicting an England win at 2-1 or 2-0, or 1-1 even depending on how flat some of the pitches are. I dare Zaheer to match Jimmy of today at Trent Bridge where Jimmy averages 7 wickets a match (and his last outing there was a 3-fer in ODIs, and 11-fer in tests last summer), I dare India to play well at Lords with their tendency to lose their first match and as flat as it may be, Lords always has atmospheric help that Jimmy and Tremlett profit from very well usually, and if Zaheer and Ishant can match them it will come down to which team can play the swinging ball better. Edgbaston has often been kind to England's bowlers, and the Oval is where I'd expect India to take a match from England. I don't discount India's skill, I just say any prediction of England winning the series is quite plausible, and in my eyes, probable. If India win, I will own that I was/am wrong, but till then I find it acceptable for such claims to exist, since others are quite willing to predict Indian victories of such margins with just as much arrogance as I acknowledge myself as possessing.
keep wishing. Those lush green pitches didnt make much of an impact on indian team in south africa. And england is traditionally easier than saf to bat on.
of course the green pitches will help indian bowlers too.
but you are free to hope. What else can you do?![]()
If u had been watching indian cricket continuously over past 3 years, these comments would have not come out.It was not only against south africa in the tests .after world cup league matches against eng and south africa when we lost, all of them said the same thing-"our bowling lineup is pathetic,we wont win the cup".And there are numerous example from numerous test situations in the past 2 years(be it harbhajan and zaheer saving test matches against aus to gambhir holding forte in nz ,to comign back strongly in sri lanka,to chasing 387 on final day aginst england etc etc when everyone thought we may lose). You talk about draws as if they are a pathetic achievement, but remember we havent lost a test series since 2008.
And stick to ur stand. You predicted a annihilation which means its going to be 3-0 in favour of england.
I fail to see how WC ODI bowling, your proof mentioned, is applicable to Test Bowling, in England.
And PLEASE NOTE, for I feel that anyone daft enough to accuse me of something that I have not done requires special Bolded terms to read properly, that I have NOT predicted an annihilation, and so I need not stick to it. I have predicted 2-1, 2-0, or 1-1 in England's favour.
The poster to predict an annihilation was zayn, if you look further up the thread. Now then, please do not ascribe to me the statements of another poster so that it may serve in discrediting me.
Furthermore, an annihilation need not be 3-0. I count the Ashes an annihilation, a 3-1 result, with 3 innings victories. I could well claim that a 2-0 with 2 innings wins is an annihilation, though I WILL SAY THAT I PERSONALLY DO NOT EXPECT AN ANNIHILATION.
And seeing as I've bolded the appropriate parts, and capitalized them as needed, I hope you do not mistake me again, and accuse me of anything that cannot rightly be accorded to me.
WTHYuvraj goes for a DUCK!
India 76/4.
I wish we have the same pitch throughout the series. Too bad Test match wickets are always a lot more batsman friendly. More days of cricket is more ££££ for the grounds
It's a flat track (it's Taunton!) and Arul and Compton aren't terrible. Still no excuse for such a poor showing by the Indian bowling attack. Even if one were to go to such an excuse as not having Harbhajan (who is a mediocre bowler nowadays) and Ishant (Sreesanth is supposedly fine)
