India 12 Pakistan 0 in all World Cup events

When will Pakistan win a World Cup game against India?

I've been watching cricket since 1992. We've never EVER won a game against India in ANY world cup...my question is.. can we win at least ONE world cup game against them in our lifetime?? We couldn't do it with Wasim, Shoaib, Inzi, Anwar. Can we do it with any permutations???

It is highly frustrating and amazingly tiresome to come year after year to keep losing to this opposition..

Sorry, just letting out frustration... but what does it take to beat india other than a brain?
 
Next world cup............or the next one.......or maybe the one after that........

One thing for sure is that we will beat them in a world cup......................I hope.
 
I hope we manage to finally beat them in a WC in my lifetime (and im only 21!)
 
India owns Pakistan in World Cups.. bow your heads down in shame... disgraceful record.. do they have any self respect? Try to win one at least.

Not really sure why Pakistan looked so nervous today. The pressure should have been on India yet to look at the way we batted you'd have thought we were the team who was in danger of going out.

That's not to denigrate India's bowling, but the Pakistan batsmen really just self-destructed for the most part.
 
Pakistan has a lot of one-hit wonders... we need players that are dependable...not hit-or-misses.. unfortunately.. we dont have any players like that ... we cannot even dream of producing a batsman like kohli.. they already done it with tendulkar, dravid, laxman, ganguly, kohli, raina, gambhir, and many many more..

I have been saying this for a while but the Pakistani players suffer from a serious inferiority complex vis a vis the Indian players and it shows in everything when both these sides play against each other. The batsmen go into a shell, the bowlers crap their pants whenever attacked by the Indian batters.

The whole strategy of spin spin spin is never going to work against the Indians and if you have a pathetically inconsistent batting line up like ours then 9 times out of 10 barring the occasional fluke you will lose when the opposition has a much superior batting line up.
 
A lot of the Pakistani players - Hafeez, Jamshed and K.Akmal seem to be feeling too much pressure.
In contrast the body language of the Indian players were cool as cucumbers.

I really think this is the bottom line - they always feel the pressure, especially the batsmen. Not sure there is a short term fix but certainly a mental block they have.

Pakistans inability to produce quality fast bowlers is hitting them hard now. You cannot even dream of winning against India with spinners. Forget it.
 
WC encounters vs India are above our pressure threshold.

Time to stop hyping Pakistan before our WC match vs India and play the match as underdogs. Also time to lessen the rivalry with India to make the WC encounters less stressful. :dav
 
Im 21, and I dont know if i will ever get a chance to witness it in my lifetime.

Given your age, I am sure that you will see Pakistan winning against India in WC more than once specially with T20 world cup happening every 2 years.
 
Someday......Just when your team will be better. Hopefully, you guys will have good replacement for Ajmal, without him it will be even tough to beat Bangladesh.
 
It will happen in the years to come! Surely Kohli will have a dip in form in any WC in the future which Pakistan can win!!

we will not win unless we produce talented players with something between their ears.. we have nothing of sorts in the domestic circuit..nor on the fringes of the pakistan team.. our A team is just as bad.. can't expect miracles from ordinary players.. we need players with something more than talent.. a brain.. passion... calmness.. something nobody seems to have..

Our 1992 WC winning team also lost to India....

Yah, but in next 30 years you are likely to have around 25 world cup matches against India. Previous 30 years did not have even 10 matches. India winning 25 WC matches against Pakistan without losing single match is not likely to happen. Pakistan will win few times for sure.
 
When Allah starts listening to our prayers and decides to bring some luck our way...we can just sit here helplessly praying to him again and again and again.
 
If pakistan really where desperate then they shouldve beaten Aus by 100 runs :p

THEN we would couldve had a Ind-Pak final :D

The 1992 defeat was inconsequential - we had bigger fish to fry.

1996, 1999 and 2011 - strong, very strong suspicions of fixing. So I don't read too much into those defeats.

2003 was a genuine loss - and it hurt, so well played India. But overall we had a poor tournament and if we had turned up in the remaining matches, that too would have been an inconsequential defeat.

T20s....who really cares. Hit n miss.

Not only 3 but all 8 matches seems suspicious to some. You are being generous by counting only 3 matches.
 
As long as Pakistan keep India their bunny in test cricket, I dont mind losing these pyjama games once every 4 years.
 
NEVER. I have decided not to wait for a WC Pak vs Ind game again, they always disappoint. I am done with it!
 
we effectively knocked them out of this tournament which is better than winning the game. so dont worry.

Pakistan is through and within striking distance of the cup.
Why does it matter they lost to India?
Roger Federer has an inferior head-head record against Rafa but how does it matter? Federer is still one of the all time greats.

I don't like to get into conspiracy theories but 1996 was the worst.

However, it was clean the other day.

I've seen all of them on the same day except the 1992 one which I saw after the final!

The problem is that people hype up the contest of the Pakistani bowling v Indian batsmen. However, we have scored poorly in 1992, 1996, 1999 and 2011 games with the bat (and in t20 in 2012). In 2003, we were 40-50 runs short.

It is the batsmen that lose the plot against some pretty ordinary bowling. However, saying that, India keep their cool and play as if they are dying for their country v Pakistan and it shows in those games.

Your team was too slow to chase down a small total. Thanks to Hafeez who despite criticism set the defensive fielding. He is a Professor and he knew about NRR :D

Proof its a mental toughness thing with Pak players in Pak India games. Unless our players learn to relax and play without fear, it won't happen.

you all know deep inside its just a matter of time before we fix this anomaly.. it is bound to happen. we are the better team and have been for most of our history. last decade or so you have been on top but law of averages states its about time.

no matter how you look at it, it is still what a handful of games.

it does not matter how many games you won.. it is about which team has been the better team.. all laws of probability will say this has been an anomaly and will eventually be taken care of.

it might take another 22 years .. who knows..
 
2 of these matches were home matches for india. (96 and 2011)

one pakistan got complacent because they were already through. (99)

But did get a sound beating in 2003 I have to admit. 92 was also not a good game. I remember half the team was sick for that game. miandad had a huge back problem and imran was getting cortisone shots throughout the tournament.
 
the day Pakistan takes it as any other game, they will win it.
 
Pakistan fear India in big games- how do we overcome that?

I do think that we fear them in a "big brother" scenario. They have won all World Cup encounters and Pakistan are already psychologically under more pressure to try and end that record next year.

Do we need psychological input or someone just to tell them to play with aggression or just to treat it as another game?
 
I think it's best to play to your strengths and also target their bowling.
 
Your batting needs to stop the tuk tuk and play with some guts. If you do that than you have chance otherwise as usual your players will surrender to pressure and our record to will go to 9 and 0.

I believe we can win in the next game cos we are better on bouncy pitches...both's batting is woeful but we at least have the best ODi bowling attack

india bring their A game against Pak in high profile tourneys while Pak go in minnow mode . Its hard to explain what happens. To say Pak submits under pressure is foolish too because in bilaterals, Pak has defeated India from hopeless situations many a times.
 
We will have to see I guess. They will meet in the T20 world cup and it will be a pak pacers vs Indian flattrackers.
 
SRT was the difference in 3 out of 5 games. He is gone now. I will say Pakistan has a good chance now.
 
It is all luck thing.

Our players like Salman Butt and Malik got special love for India, but India got special love for WC.

Misbah loosing the tosses is also a luck thing, but this will also change either with Misbah, or after Misbah.
 
:kohli, :msd are the key for India with the great man :sachin gone. Get past these two and get the win.
 
2015 Pakistan will beat India :kohli :junaid ... :misbah :msd ... Who care's about the t20 cup that as I alway's say is hit or miss.

But I have a good feeling for 2015 with :sachin out (thank our lucky star's) I believe we will win.

Part time keep U. Akmal dropped Kohli catch at 0 from Umar Gul ball. I would not mind lose against India in group stages if we win the world cup like we won the Asia cup despite losing to India in group stages.

If Wasim gives advice and tips to Young junaid then we will see Kohlis outstanding form break. Rohit, Shikar, Suresh are all easy prizes for Irfan and Junaid.
