lol India might turn into the 'WWE Undertaker' version of cricket (never losing at Wrestlemania), of not losing a match against Pakistan in any WC :))

Who here has explicitly stated that they would want to trade the 75 wins for 7 wins? I also found a lot of effigy burning but don't know the games that preceded it.

Those WC defeats have haunted people for years. I can tell for myself how the 96 semi and 03 final kept bothering me till we won the 07 and 11 cups.
 
Pakistan players lack self belief in those crunch games. They need to get mental aspect right , to win.
 
Lol. So Indo Pak matches in World Cups = Indo Pak matches in Bilaterals ?

Compared to Mohali Semis, I have never even seen 5% of the enthusiasm , anticipation and excitement among people for any other match ( including Indo Pak matches ) outside the World Cups.
 
The day we the Pakistani public will start treating it as any other match we will start winning against India. From the day the schedule was announced Players from Pakistan have probably heard from everyone they know that loose the world cup but don;t loose to India etc.
 
Friday could see the end of this streak (at least in T20 WCs).

We have a solid team that should put up a great fight. BUT, can we handle the pressure?
 
Pakistan players hype the games while Indians players barely talk to the media till the game is done.

Thats the difference.

If i was Moin Khan i would ban the players from giving interviews in the lead up of the game, but alas Geo is too powerful to deny now

Always get a reply about passion, rivals, etc.

All that is true but it reflects the mindset.
 
this is a pathetic indian team. if you guys can't beat this club level indian side, you have only yourself to blame.

Pathetic teams cant win world cup,champions trophy without lossing any single match lncluding warm up matches.and india ranking in all three formats are in top 3 is for a reason I suppose.but yes form of indian team is pathetic now days.but they really do have best batting line up for all the conditions in the world and its bowling due to which they have lost overseas matches these days but in subcontinent bowling wud not be much issue due to there spinners and one pacer also mohammad shami and bhuvi is also a gud swing bowler.i dnt think its a wise decision to underestimate indian team very much but yes pakistan is in good form and expected them to win.
 
#9-0 or #8-1 Few days left now, this is one of our most unsettled teams and Pak has a great chance but most probably they would choke again under pressure. :l

It is part of their central contract with BCCI that they cannot speak with media without permission from BCCI.
 
I am afraid the streak will be broken either in WC T20 match or WC 2015.

It would be cool if the streak remains unbroken.

Better Pakistani teams failed to beat India. Imran's boys were a distinctly superior outfit down under, even they could not cope up the pressure. India will have the edge.
 
Need to beat Pakistan to stay in the comp, they're as good as out if they lose.
 
Pakistan are gonna thrash India this time. The Indian team is very low on confidence while Pakistan has the right attitude. The losing streak will be finally broken this time.
 
I envision a reversal of fortunes....

The T20 WC match may well set the trend for future encounters...

Pakistan are settled and have players made for T20 whilst India even with their IPL are still struggling to adapt to the format
 
does this record includes the farcical bowl-outs where Pak players looked so disinterested while Sehwag n Harbi were over the moon :arafat :afridi :gul :facepalm:
 
some journalist asked ahmad shehzad whether his team is under pressure because of not having beaten india in a world cup. He replied "badal denge na is dafa sab kuch" (we'll change everything this time) :)
 
If I was Indian fan I would not be happy about that Pak hasn't beaten them in a WC, Yet rather be weary that all records get broken at some point and should be worried that it could happen anytime now. (unless your Rocky Marciano or Floyd Mayweather).

Records are meant to be broken however it doesn't take away the fact that the stat will show India's overwhelming dominance over Pakistan in the WCups. In other words as per records whether broken or not India owns Pakistan in these tournaments for a long long time...

Every India - Pakistan encounter is a world-cup final in itself, any other side shows are irrelevant. And for the foreseeable future when the fat lady is done singing, all you are going to see is something like Pakistan 72 - India 50!

I could desperately try to spin Pakistan's poor record against Aussies or SA by claiming we have always beaten them on the third wednesday of February, during a leap year which also coincides with the year of the Monkey!! But if I did that it would be very obvious that somebody needs to talk to me about the river Nile :)
 
It's going to be hard for India to catch up with Pakistan on HTH any time in the near future in ODIs. A difference of 22 games won't be easy to make up in the near future particularly when there is so little cricket between the two sides. However, it's going to be virtually impossible for Pakistan to catch up with India on the ICC trophies count in the format either; it's 4-1 in ODIs now. I did say in another thread that Pakistan are the best side in the world in all formats and it's going to be a watershed era for Pak cricket wrt to ICC trophies but it's going to take years for them to get to 4.

Now this is new,why are u counting 'icc matches'..
It's about the world cup and India leads pak 7-0 and yes even though world t20 is not technically a 'world cup' but it is the premier competition in the t20 format and has great prestige for t20 fans.
Champions trophy is not the premier competition in the 50 over format.

Please read what is posted, I said India have 4 ICC trophies in ODIs and Pakistan have 1.

Who really cares about a second-grade, dead competition like the Champions Trophy? The two World Cups are the only two tournaments that count in my eyes. The Champs Trophy is like the Asia cup, an appetizer to the main course.

If Pakistan make it 2-2 by 2015, I can assure you that no Pakistani would care that India have won the Champions Trophy twice.
 
Doesn't matter who cares and who doesn't care to be honest, calling an ICC trophy a dead trophy reeks of sour grapes. I remember the argument about how Pak's win loss ratio supposedly gave them an edge despite being behind on the trophy count but this argument disappeared when pointed out that India's ratio against the better ODI sides is actually better than Pak's. Clearly, some people are incapable of objectivity when it comes to India vs Pak. Asia Cup I can understand but a world trophy is a world trophy. Something tells me that if Pak had won 2 CT trophies and India 0 your opinion would be very different just like the WL ratio argument. It's just like saying bilateral series don't matter at all, extremely biased and asinine but to each their own. As for ifs buts..meh. Let's see what happens when it does. All said and done, people would rather have 3 extra major trophies in the format than a better HTH record against an arch rival. Different priorities I suppose. Explains why Pak have kept up with India in HTH even during India's strongest era whereas India have racked up the trophies.

No it would be like Under taker 3-0 record vs Kane. Undertaker has never lost at the wrestelemania, India have lost matches at WC
 
it should be 9-0(inc today) isnt it. I thought there was a tie breaker in the league match in 2007 and India won that.
 
So the moral of the story is to avoid India in the knock out stages....

The Highlighted Part seems to be brought up a lot and we do not see Indians making excuses for their losses during 80's and 90's for having one of the weakest units in World-Cricket?
 
I wont mind if our W/L outside world cup gets wider if it means we keep smashing Pakistan in the tournaments that matter. :kohli

True, wont mind in the slightest if Pakistan keep winning against India in Kitply , Mirinda , Coca Cola , Pepsi , Fanta , Limca , Sprite and other numerous cups as long as the streak continues.
