India (133/3) defeat England (132) by 7 wickets to go 1-0 up in the 5-match T20I series

Vikrant before this series was saying yesterday , teams will be scoring 250 on this pitch  :sneaky:
Even Gavaskar got surprised by the bounce .he was talking to the English commies that no one have expected it at all .since not much of cricket this year, pitch must be very fresh as per him .

After his superb innings of 69 runs in the first match of the series, Abhishek Sharma certainly has a great chance to get past Rizwan.
We care about wins bro like 25/27 .we don't need stats again for individual selfish player's pr teams.

Chahal is terrible as well. I think Varun lacks that on field personality lol He always looks like a love failure guy with that droopy eyes and beard. Didn't show any energy. He was just another victim of India's batting failure. Bowlers always feel the heat ofr poor batsmen.
He has a very bad knees .so guy is very careful apart from bowling.unless u bowl and think like Shane warne, its not acceptable.

This t20 team will be a real face saver for gambhir.he will point it out to agarkar to ask him to remove the oldies and he will have a chance to do it again.

Asia cup is in oct and mostly it will be in Lanka. definitely pak will get a reset for a good measure.Hopefully bumrah and mayank will also play to give a good reality check.

Team Bharat continues to amaze in T20 cricket. This is the only format where we ruthlessly play young cricketers and do not carry any non performing senior player and it’s working.

As expected. India thrashed England at home yet again. Superb hitting from Abhi Sharma. Proper modern day batter.

I would be shocked if India somehow don't manage to retain their T20 WC title next year. It would be an even bigger bottle-job than 2023 WC.

They are the best team in this format right now, by a country mile.

Even players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant aren't automatic selections in the playing XI right now.

Nope nothing would top that. T20 is a volatile format and combine that with the imminent dew effect, it's relatively easy for inferior teams to come out on top when things go their way.

I guess an Indian fan is better placed to speak on this, but personally, in T20 right now it feels like India is playing chess while the rest of the teams are playing checkers.

There are so many T20 WC's that they become hard to remember, but has a pre-tournament favourite ever went all the way?

There is usually some random match, or even one over, that changes the whole look of the tournament.

I would say that both England and India were favorites in the last two T20 WCs, and both of them ended up winning.

In 2014 aswell, both of the favorites were in the final and Sri Lanka won.

It's a format with far smaller margins but at the end of the day, the team that plays the best cricket and has the best combination generally does win.

You do see stuff Carlos Brathwaite smacking Ben Stokes all over the park in the final over, but ultimately better skills do stands out at the end.

India was not the favourite for the 2024 world T20 prior to the tournaments .

India were the top-ranked T20 team coming into the tournament and on-paper probably had the best team, along with England. I know there were question marks on Kohli and Rohit throughout the tournament, but with the squad of players they had, they were always going to be one of the favorites.

Take these bilaterals with a pinch of salt is what my advice would always be. Tournament cricket is a different beast altogether.

I generally don't take bilaterals too seriously. But sometimes they can be a good indicator of how good a team is, even in a format like T20.

May England win 5-0.
Man, when was the last time any of your wishes came true? Your religious hatred is clouting your judgement and affecting your daily life massively, I hope you sort this out.

Genuine question - what is in for you if India loses 5-0 against Eng in a T20 series?

Bilateral T20s are generally like practice matches. Teams rarely play their full sides.

Good opportunity for England to find the right comination for 2026 World T20.
