And again! Root has taken three for none.

Second innings England should attack, anyone trying to go in their shell is out in a matter of time, a lead of 150-200 should be way to much
England’s batsman should be fearless and attacking in the 2nd innings only way of scoring and setting a winning target.
They will have to try to hammer the quicks. If the quicks even bowl.
These wicket nothing do with pitch.most of Batsman play wrong shot
Please put the camera on L Siva. Seems like part of his soul dies whenever England take a wicket.

Poor batting from both teamsWhen both 1st innings are <150 and Joe Root has 3/3 then it's a very poor pitch, by any standard.
(and I wait for the "whatabout" logical fallacies by Indian fans)
50 runs lead also great now.
Poor batting from both teams
This is absolutely correct.I might be completely missing the mark here, but I still don’t think the pitch is as bad as the scorecard is suggesting. Could be wrong.
Pitch is very very poor, who said otherwise is completely biased. Batting also so poor.Wow another Indian fans who is too embarrassed to admit turning wickets.

a genuine question to indian posters ...
Is this how this ground is expected to play or is it just a freak occurance/poor batting?
from the outside looking in it seems too spin friendly? strange as i rate indias batting as stronger than englands so dont understand why such a pitch would be prepared delibrately?
This is fantastic!
It's like Pakistan's decisive Fifth Test victory in 1986-87 at Bangalore in 1987
Pakistan 116
India 145
Pakistan 249
India 204 (Gavaskar 96)

Long batting may save india in second innings.Trouble looming already for India. Even a lead of 50 runs (which itself is unlikely) isn't good enough considering that they bat last in this test.
And England decided to play with 3 fast bowlers on this pitch?
As bad a decision as when Pakistan played 4 seamers against India on a turning track in the Asia Cup in Bangladesh few years back.

The dangerous Ashwin gone. Root has four for five runs.
One shudders to think what Ashwin will do.....
200+ target is enough.
These wickets from Root puts Indian spinners record and wicket in India, Ashwin for instance is still a very good bowler but no way he is as good as say Kumble and even Yasir is better.
Yasir? No sir.
As mikey Holding says night test cricket is a joke it Alters the playing conditions too much. That much that batting teams don’t mind a collapse or declare just to get the other team batting by the time lights take effect... JOKE!!
Finger spinners do better in these sort pitches compared to the wrist spinners.Imagine how many Yasir will take on this wicket and how much ball will turn for him as a wrist spinner. Remember all these spinners on show are finger spinners.

When was the last time Ishant hit a six in any form of cricket before this six?
