i think india will deffo win this barring any miracle from someone like stokes or root- but as india fans do you find this sorta game more entertaining than ones that are more even between bat and ball? when i see someone like root who yes has bowled well but is just about a part timer ripping through an order, it lessens the test match imo

As Indian fans, I would like to win convincingly. Like did in Australia. No one can question that win and it will remain untainted.

Just poor batting. Its a sporting pitch otherwise with no demons in it.

yes even us pakistni fans had to congratulate such a performance through gritted teeth- test cricket at its best ... a big india win in this circumstance will just lead to comments about the pitch and create controversy when india couldve beaten england on any decent strip imo
 
33 runs ahead, so frankly I worry that we will be 100 all out and lose by 5 wickets.... but if we can somehow score 200, then we will have a fighting chance! :)

When I saw the name change yesterday, I feared a massive L incoming. Was pleasantly surprised by the run of play yesterday and thought the L was postponed. Never knew it would arrive a day late. The panauti powers of some people are just unparalleled.
 
Someone need to do a KP..a 75-80 knock in these situations will give England a historical win.

I don't think the pitch is that bad. This has been some really poor batting from both teams. 200 would probably be a match winning score but it's really difficult to see England getting that.

Nah bro. Both 1st innings <150 on a turner that gets 5 wickets for Root and gets harder for batting as it gets older... that's just a poor pitch mate. A greentop at least gets flatter.

Ever consider the poor strokes are because they have no chance at all to survive playing normal cricket?

One side I can believe misjudging the pitch & playing poorly. BOTH teams just playing awful cricket for all 20 wickets to be bowled out for minnow scores with poor quality bowlers drowning in wickets is the point where even the most biased fan should really just accept the curator (or team request) got it wrong. Occams Razor.

yes, India was in a strong position here too. Our legendary batsmen didn't click for once.
Let's wait for second innings before we say more about the pitch.
You know, there will always be comments about the pitch whenever India plays at home.
 
England need to bat sensibly in next session. I feel in 3rd session, it will be easier with dew coming in. But how well they bat in second session will decide the game.
 
This is just incredible, India with Pakistan's & Srilankan level of batting.

These Indian fans here are too embarrassed to admit they are making dust bowls to win at home. Indian team looks strong on paper and probably dont need this kind of advantage but Indian fans insecurity seems to suggest otherwise.
 
England will probably look to be positive against the pacers. Root and Bairstow really need to perform against the spinners in this innings.

First test was played on a flattish deck, England were to strong.

Thanks for admitting unlike some other Indian fans who are too embarrassed to admit. This is a open cricket forum and we should be able to discus and say what we see without being scared or too embarrassed. Last two wickets have been nothing but full on turners designed to help Indian spinners.
 
C4 saying the average spin in India on Day 2 is 3.4°. Today's average spin is 4.9°.

England need to set at least 120 for India to win. Ideally 150.

India will probably chase anything below 100.
 
wat a serious junk of wicket.... really u need to have balance between bat and ball..

i really think, at the min, the best wickets are produced by Pak and Aus... always a good balance
 
Time to eat humble pie....I called England embarrassing yesterday but in some ways this was even worse. All this so called world class players of spin and they have been bowled out by a part timer. This is truly pathetic.

India must now start preparing sporting wickets. Enough is enough!

bro i couldve believed this but for joe root to get a 5for on day 2.... something has gone very wrong with the pitch preparation and india may have shot themselves in the foot here
 
Indian team management knows that Kohli is such a toss loser so they basically asked for a pitch that turns from Day 1 and it has gotten worse coming into Day 2.

England need a special batting performance from someone to win this game though.

yes I know,,I too almost believe there is some devil in the pitch..but would wait for 2nd innings. Who knows it's a rare brainfade by both England and India
