I think after this opening stand it would be catastrophic to break it apart.

Let’s stick with Rahul and Jaswal now no matter what.

  • Lowest 4th innings total is 89 by Pakistan

Thing to note, Australia never batted last here so we don't know how much a team can chase. If WI can score 322, surely Australia will score more.

So India must aim to add 80-90 runs more to absolutely seal the deal.

Yep. It's not about the lead. Need to aim to bat 2 more sessions. 5 sessions is enough to bowl Australia out.

If they can chase 400 they can chase 500 also and if they do that credit to them.

But Bharat will most likely go for a shot at the Aussie top order tonight with the new ball

Middle order doesn't suits for slogging ur way out.Rohit should excel or leave.same goes for any one on the team.Their inability should not change the team combination and mess up the team

Rohit will walk in like a king for sure even though he should not be.Gill will.be under pressure aa padikkal shown better technique than him.Jaiswal century will also put pressure on Gill as the junior is much better .Padikkal issue is like pujara's strike rotation.
 
Strange decision to send Washington to bat ahead of the in-form Reddy. I hope Bumrah has not had a Rohit Sharma style brain fade.

Rohit and Virat will both play all the tests they can possibly play in this series and depending on how they perform a decision could be taken about their future. But that’s after this series.
 
Seeing Lyon getting all that spin from the rough makes makes one wonder how well Ashwin could have bowled here. We continue to disrespect him like this.

Don't think Padikkal poses any threat to Gill just yet. He hasn't done anything great even on a batting friendly pitch. Gill and Rohit will replace Padikkal and Jurel in the next test.

So many great shots but the r batters are having to run 3s instead of well deserved boundaries. You need a LOT of fitness to excel in Australia man, no wonder whoever does well here usually

What are you talking about? Gill has scored a match winning knock in australia in his first tour .

Gill average is 55 in australia .he is currently one the best Indian player for Australian conditions .

Gill place is secured and once he is Fully fit ,will back in the playing eleven .

They’re understanding the dynamics of the 5 test series. It’s a long battle and you have to break the spirit of your opponent. You never know if we get such a golden opportunity in the next test. Make them suffer as much as possible now that we are on top.
 
Bumrah being a bowling captain wants to break Cummins, Starc.
 
Next test Boland will play instead of Starc.

I think Indian batsman will have hard time against a Starc-less Australian pace attack especially in Pink ball test.

That earlier version of gill has much more tight technique than this current version.once he tried to bazballl approach at kkr,all kind of clink in the armour cropped up.Both wtc finals in eng,spin playing ability and getting lbw all kind of issues were hunting him. He fixed his issues and scored heavily against eng on tough pitches.He went back to his issues in nz series.so it's interesting to see how he will come up again in aus.

He bowls a lot of hit me deliveries. Bowls too full perhaps. Not have a control like Hazelwood, Boland or Cummins.

No I mean Gill is going to play for sure but he will be aware of the waiting list and players skillset in that.

Gill is least problem at this moments .he will score plenty of runs in this series once he is fully fit
