India (150 & 487/6d) beat Australia (104 & 238) by 295 runs in the 1st Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

So, where did it go wrong for Aussies:

1) It seemed like Aussies were too cautious against Indian bowlers during 1st innings. The fact Labu scored 2 off 52 highlights that fact. They needed to play positive cricket which they couldn't do.

2) Aussies seemed way too lighthearted. Needed to show aggression when Indian batters were batting. It was a bit too vanilla.

Which league have you played in Canada? I have played in SCA and Lakeshore.

sorry to burst your bubble but India will most likely win the series 3-1 or 3-2.

Australia will lose some points for slow over rate in Perth which would it even more difficult to qualify for the final.

It will be an India vs SAF/Lanka final.

Made my debut in 2010. Back then, I played in TDCA and Brampton league. Also, played 1 game in Scarborough league. I played in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Aussies are likely to win. Let's see who is right at the end of the series.

Regarding WTC final, I think it will be Aussies vs South Africa. SL have tough games.

It required extaordinary discipline from batsmen especially Rahul and Jaiswal to complement the bowling of Bumrah. If INdia had lost Jaiswal/Rahul early the whole match would have produced a different result.
i agree here. Bumrah rightly got the man of the match award, but contributions from Jaiswal and Rahul were equally important. Even Virat 100 and reddy's onslaught was important as it is pushed it completely out of Aus reach. Australia might have fancied a 350 or 380 chase but his 100 meant that it was beyond anything reasonably possible

I thought India missed a trick by not sending Reddy up the order. He could have gotten more runs and kind of dampened their spirits. Sundar was anyway there if Reddy had failed.. Anyway overall good match

That is exactly what posters said in the last 2 series as well.

In short, Australia have an ageing batting line up which is unable to score runs from the last 2 seasons(Heck even Pakistan gave them a tough time). This is my main reason for putting India as favourites. I am convinced after this game.

Had it not rained in the Sydney test in 2018, it would have been 3-1 in favor of India.

Had Pant not got out in Sydney in 2021, India would have won that series 3-1 as well.

So in all the likelihood, Australia will get a pasting this series. I predict a 3-1 score in favor of India. India has dominated Australia since 2014 and we are likely to see this trend continue here as well.

Plenty of bowling options if they can select.

In batting department they have some problem .

i think australia will bounce back in next test and still big favourite to win the series 4-1
Doubt it, ind just way too strong

What are you talking about. Wtc final we lost. One off game matters more. In England. It's more prestigious.

Travis Head while talking to local channel:

"I think (people have) picked the bones out of a comment on the back of a poor week, which is fine. All the boys hung out together last night, nothing changed in the way we were as a group."

"We stuck together, had some good conversations as we always would, win or draw. It's a pretty level group. No doubt there was a lot of disappointment around the room but definitely no fractions."
