India (171/7) hand a crushing defeat to England (103) by 68 runs to secure their spot in the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Excellent start by India. Stop start is frustrating but they are professionals. Someone suggested Rishab to.open and Kohli to come 1st down. Maybe it's worth trying if India win here

i dont know why someone suggested that, india will not be playing the final. for bilateral series you can try

Initially they had 4 hours until they would start losing overs. They have utilized 1:15, so I’m assuming they still have 2:45 mins before we start losing overs

England had a Ganme rained out but everyone needs to remember that India was robbed of an easy game vs Canada too. England have been very inconsistent losing against Australia and South Africa

A bit off topic:

Watching the game on Star Sports. I wonder How does it feel like to be Stuart Binny. His wife is a top class sports TV presenter and shares the screen with legends. His father was a successful cricketer and now BCCI President.

On the other hand Stuart Binny, sitting at home, sipping coffee and watching the game on TV. Must be pretty hard!!!
He's made a good amount of money playing small leagues apart from IPL of course. He has over achieved actually given where he started from - he was just known for thrashing bowlers for short cameos and his bowling coming off sometimes.

He was a constant fixture down the road from my old house where he'd pop by the cigarette shop and regale anyone who cared to listen with stories of how he thrashed some local club team the previous day.

best to let india play another 2 overs so we get result and then use duckworth lewis rule and england should chase it in 5 overs easy

That Yadav sixer, Rashid's poor over sort of demoralized England. Nice and ebb and flow so.far with India slightly on top. It's a shame. Interesting that Rohit wasn't going on all out attack either.

Interestingly bumrah kuldeep pant dint play vs england last time india lost to them in WC.

I still feel VK's game is to bat 20 ov....& Let all bat around him & go for the big ones ....
Charging a quick & getting bowled or getting caught on the boundary is contrary to his game...I hope we win this & he reverts to his strengths in finals & makes a massive dent.....
This match not yet over....I hope like sir Viv in 1975 finals he creates havoc with his fielding & catching.....yet to come

It's not that uncommon for women to do better than men in Indian middle/upper.middle class anymore.

That is correct. India as a team are no match for ENG but they stand a chance based solely on a freak show from Bumrah, Kuldeep, Rohit, Pant etc.

Kohli does not count because the longer he stays at the crease, the more India's chances take a hit.
Freak show? You literally listed 4 5 players who could perform well lol

It's rhe same with England. Take buttler and salt out their batting collapses.

In bowling it's basically rashid and arched.

Virat kohli's game is suited for regional leagues in Mumbai. He should go back to ranji

Can someone explain why sky isn’t opening anymore? I find that strange when the guy had so much success there.

But someone should do some research on how india can lose so many tosses in wc lmao.

So 65-2 in 8.... considering the pitch, rain , conditions -
What do the great minds here consider - who is leading ?

Heck i would have even taken TIlak varma over Kohli,He is averaging 70 in WI. He played brilliantly onthese kind of pitches.

Indian selectors are very conservative
Sanju samson and Jaiswal are on the bench. Will go home without playing. They picked Yuzi chahal in the squad once again did not give him a single game. Rohit said there is a secret reason for 4 spinners. He is yet to unravel the secret.

India were slowing taking the momentum before rain but this break may change the things .

Very annoying for batting team .

Still trying to understand what management is trying to do with Kohli.
Just drop him from team if you won’t let him play his normal game.

This is a torture for Kohli and everyone in India watching cricket.

He is no Chris gayle. His style is to anchor innings and explode once he settles down. Which genius asked him to attack from first ball?

Dravid and management have failed. One of the worst coaches in India’s history.

In non Islamic countries, people marry or fall in love based on a lot of factors. There is dating involved where people can get to know each other. Physical characteristics, money, influence account for a bit but there are a lot of other factors too.
What are these factors?

Sachin never had such a bad ICC tournament for that long, but tbf we never messed around with his position either.

I went out after SKY's six. Good thing I didn't miss anything in between. I think we are doing well.
Rain rain go away

This is the biggest problem with rain, two set batsmen are like starting again and rhythm is broken

Need a coach like current aussie or English coach.

I have never seen an Indian semi final anywhere lin the world. Exhibition match has more crowds i think

These exist in Islamic countries too lol.

He was answering the question why that girl married binny.
It was a love marriage and in love marriage these things matter more than just the looks.

Islamic countries he probably just used to take a dig at the poster he was quoting, ignore that part, you know how PP is.

Interesting trivia, thanks for this.

I'm very curious if I can be honest - I look at photos of Stuart Binny and his wife and cannot help but wonder about the gap or them being in different leagues or however else you want to call it. Good for him to have married higher than his league of course, but I cannot help but wonder, how that happened.

The things cricket followers have to resort to, to entertain themselves when weather plays a spoilsport. :ROFLMAO:
Aside from being a smalltime narcissist, Stu Binny is actually an interesting funny guy whom most urban guys would enjoy hanging out with. He's definitely not gonna bore her and I think she's being overrated here a bit. She's the best female Indian presenter ever because she actually understands sports - she was first on during football if I remember and I think she played national level basketball or volleyball, forget which one. She might seem ahead of him now, but at the time when they were dating, the mood around was that they were a cool-looking couple suited for each other.

Interesting points. Thank you for sharing.

OK Back to game... Deube and Pandya still to come with Axar and Jaddu who can score a few. WOuld you say the game is 50-50 or does of the teams have an edge? (Imagine I am Mayanti)

T20 World Cup 2024: ICC Explains Reason Behind 'Different Rule' For India vs England Semi-Final

Will it rain or not? That has been the big question in the lead up to India's T20 World Cup semi-final clash against England at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The rain has cast a shadow of uncertainty on the much-awaited clash, which will be a repeat of the last T20 World Cup semi-final which was played in Adelaide, Australia. For both teams, the final destination is the same -- a place in the summit clash against South Africa in Barbados.

The Proteas blew Afghanistan away in the first semi-final without any rain interruption, even though there was a reserve day for that game in Trinidad.

Is that the case for the second semi-final too? Not exactly. The ICC has not alotted a reserve day for the India-England semi-final. With the capital of Guyana, Georgtown, witnessing decent amount of rain over the past few days, there is a possibility that the same might happen during the day of the match.

If rain does spoil the stage, India and England will have contrasting moods. While England will be left behind licking their wounds, India will book a direct entry into the final, mainly because of their higher position in the league and Super 8 phase.

While the ICC's decision of different rules for the first and the second semi-final has caused an outcry in the media, the apex body has issued a clarification on the same.

An ICC spokesperson has suggested that since there's only a day's gap between the second semi-final in Guyana and the final in Barbados, the decision to have no reserve day for the India-England game was taken so taken so that the second finalist gets enough time to rest and travel.

"For performance reasons, to ensure teams do not have to 'play-travel-play' on consecutive days, the decision was taken to allocate the additional time for the second semi-final immediately post the game because the game is a 10.30am start, whilst the first semi-final is an evening start, which means it is not feasible to play all additional time on the same day," ESPNcricinfo quoted the ICC spokesperson as saying.

Not to forget, the semi-final was played in the evening (8:30 PM local time, 6 AM IST), the second semi-final will begin at 10:30 AM local time (8 PM IST).

The ICC spokesperson also said that the overs will start being reduced only at approximately 2.40pm (12:10 AM IST): 250 minutes after the scheduled start time of 10.30am.

this is something beyond the stupidity.. how come ICC introduce new rules for India? there must be a reserve day as it was for the 1st semi final
