India (171/7) hand a crushing defeat to England (103) by 68 runs to secure their spot in the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024

OK Back to game... Deube and Pandya still to come with Axar and Jaddu who can score a few. WOuld you say the game is 50-50 or does of the teams have an edge? (Imagine I am Mayanti)

It all depends on how many overs match is.
If it’s full 20 overs then we need 175+
With a wet outfield our spinners will have difficulty gripping the wet ball and it will skit on, England batting is too deep and explosive so will smack our spinners around.

Yup, Inzi averaged 3 in that wc lol
If j remember Xactly inzi lost about 25 K in weight & was the fittest he ever was in his zindgi....(Or so he claimed in some interviews)....but jokes apart - as an Indian - inzi was awesome - & a real pleasure to view , his batting , his runouts, his press conferences....but a humble friendly guy ....I had the absolute pleasure & privileged to meet him personally in Gwalior - India 1999...along with other Pak players ..what an awesome amazing guy ✌️

True

Looking at their overall stats I reckon England want SKY more than Rohit as their 3rd wicket. Of course either one would do.. but I think Sky would be a bigger threat

Rohit the Hitman has not hit a six yet. oooh
Don't care ....he's doing a terrific job ....so far ...so much for the -ve twithead indian posters on this site esprcially in the match against aus..go take a running jump....

Update

The majority of the covers have been removed but there are still some damp areas in the outfield which are causing concern for the match officials. Before the rest of the covers can be removed, the ground staff want to make sure that all the water has been removed and are using the Super Sopper to do the job.

What do you expect. Last chance for him and still choked.
If India qualify for the finals, do you think he could be the bigger man and just tell Rohit to field Jaiswal instead of him?

It's interesting to see Kohli vs Rohit bat. Rohit looks old in the sense he's plump and he often gets into awkward, almost vulgar positions just before striking the ball. But he's able to send the ball where it deserves to go. Kohli just looks so much more in shape before striking the ball, the aesthetics look right and yet, he can't buy a run.

Is it as simple as one has adapted his old body to old age related losses in physical attributes while the other is still playing like a young man but the body is misfiring while trying to respond.

Geez....still feell....if angrez get hitman.....it will be so uphill from here ...c'mon SKY, Harry, Akshar, Shivam & co.... ✌️

Originally Kohli was not supposed to be selected. Rohit si the one who pushed his case. His IPL run confirmed it without any trouble despite sporadic objections.

Lol naw, Kohli got so mad at an interviewer for suggesting that maybe they should drop rohit for poor form and bring in ishan Kishan to open. Kohli made it abundantly clear the ishan will not open as long as rohit is around

Good analysis....but restricted to T20 only...In other formats both knock the stuffing out of all comers....that most other teams would love ve to have them amongst them....

No way. Even if he wanted to sponsors won't be happy. The need his image for marketing. It's a joke

Kohli currently is not good enough to play quetta

So the four umpires are having a conference around a patch underneath sunshine. Are they waiting for the next shower?

What a farce.

Despite Rohit fans and Kohli fans aabuse each other (mostly due to IPL) Rohit and Kohli are buddies. They don't give up each other. A reason why Kohli is even playing.

That is not a frace if you take your biased binoculars off lol There is a massive patch that is concerning umpires.

Absolutely... is every player's favorite word when answering questions.

EVen I have started using 'absolutely' a lot more in RL life

India 65/2 in 8 overs, if due to rain, if this match is reduced to 12-12 overs, will it not be unlawful for Team India as they were not knowing it will be 12-12 over match before commencing their batting

It is really hard to believe now that Pakistan had batsmen of Inji's stature. We geew up watching Inji's whole career in front of us. Really a fighter , had the self belief and patriotism inside, a marvellous player of pace bowling.

This long break will effect India more than England. Batsmen will have to be set again, can loose momentum. How many times we see that batsmen getting out just after a drink break.

It would be hilarious in a way if India goes on to win this WT20 without any of Kohli's performance.

I mean talk about storyline. Every World Cup in which Kohli gave his best and carried the team, his team lost. But the World Cup he doesn't perform one bit in, he gets to win.

You scratch my back and I do the same.
Will cost india though. Jaiswal is 10 times better than kohli

Remember what he did to England in tests

There are some interesting threads on Twitter which show that batsmen who tend to rely on fast strike rotation in ODI cricket generally tend to decline after 32/33 especially in their ability vs spin.

They simply don't age as well because they rely on maniacal conditioning which is not possible after a certain age.

On the other hand , those who rely more on their power to hit spinners for boundaries tend to age better and still manage to score impactful runs even at a later age.

I think this is the difference between Rohit and Kohli. Rohit has always had and relied more on his power game.

Motivation. It will be like Ronaldo fans claiming a Euro for him haha (yeah I remember there was one game Ronaldo won singlehandedly, Spain??)

But I won't grudge Kohli a freebie title. He might have a lot of flaws and have behaved entitled with his actress wife, but there is no denying his greatness as a batsman and the joy he's brought millions.

So honestly champs ...let's leave team bias aside & questions to you & plz answer like cric lovers ...
Rain break like this....
Who will benefit more...
Batsmen....
Bowlers...
Which team here?

Lol what are you even talking about. That's not the way to talk about your elders.
Pakistan is 6 times T20 wc semifinalists.

Your india is only 5 times. Respect the elders.
Are you saying Pakistan have choked more than India? :dw

Benefit bowlers... Batters have lost concentration and its very likely they could get out. (My personal opinion)

They will put a spin to it. Kohli's mindset to bat aggressively which carried over from his test performances as captain in the past has taken india to new heights.

The whole idea of Kohli in the team was to.give a free pass for.others to express. He needs to.stop the ugly hoicks and play proper cricket strokes. He's capable.of that. Also, his value in chases is huge and India hasn't chased a big target yet in this world cup.

Or the lesser deliveries he plays, more chances for an INdia win :afridi

Bowlers for sure. Batsmen have to reset. But bad for spinners. Ball will be wet.

England only has 3 overs of spin left.

India has to bowl at least 8...

ICC does. :cautious:

The ICC had pre-decided that if India were to reach the semi-finals, they would schedule them for the second match to cater to prime viewing hours for Indian television audiences.

And yes it is stupid to have reserve day only for one semi-final.

☀️ out now !

Get yadav , clean up the rest & chase this down with ease !

Come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 :wg

I am surprised to seeLivingstone bowl.

COuld he induce a false stroke

We've lost 153 minutes so far, 97 left before overs get reduced
So if india finish 20 in the next 90 minutes then?
England will get to bat for less overs to meet a recalculated target?

If India choke another ICC event, I think I will die of laughter.

They are massively behind in this game.

No. We can afford to lose 250 minutes to rain before we start to lose overs.

Cant believe India are not taking on the spinners. (I am not watching live of course)
