What's new

India (175/7) dominate Pakistan (114) with a commanding 61-run victory in an anti-climactic T20 World Cup 2026 clash

I used to think that the skill gap is not that big but after watching India for like four times, I do not have the same view anymore. We may still win an odd match sometimes against them but they are not just the better team but also the more organized team.

The plans for their bowlers are absolutely crystal clear and their execution is almost spot on. They just don't beat us, they beat other teams consistently as well.

For example, when they are bowling these are the plans

1. Kuldeep, Varun: If they get hit, the next ball always spins away. Nothing in the arc, nothing on the legs, very few bad balls.
2. Arshdeep: His death bowling plan is super clear. Outside the off stump yorkers and he hits them consistently.
3. Hardik: Knows how to set fields and bowl in the power play.

Meanwhile if you look at Pakistan, you see that a player like Shadab who has 100 T20s will bowl into legs of a left hander. The execution of the skills is just not there.
Their roles are crystal clear, on the other hand we have players like Faheem Babar and Usman in our team: a specialist bat at 9, an anchor at 4 who only bats for himself, and a nonspecialist tailender wicketkeeper. What are their roles in the team? Role clarity gives clarity about a lot of things and helps make and execute plans. Also execution is not just a product of skill but discipline, hard work and form. Again if you keep selecting out of form players or those not prepared to work hard you can't blame anyone. Also PCB and the players are to be blamed when it comes to grooming non cricketing and thinking skills. Listen to any Indian player who has played 10 years and a Pakistani player and there is a wide gulf.

That is my whole point.

I am not a fan of any other cricket team than Pakistan but we must appreciate the effort that has been put into building a good team.

We're only playing 5 batters plus allrounders (Shadab + Nawaz) you can't beat India chasign with such weak batting depth.
