Trailing 0-1, India face South Africa in the final T20I of their three-match series in Johannesburg, today on Thursday, December 14. Rain played spoilsport in the first T20I, which was washed out without a ball being bowled. Then in the second T20I, the home side crashed to a five-wicket defeat in Port Elizabeth, due to the DLS method.

In the second T20I, India posted 180/7 in 19.3 overs before rain forced the match into a 15-over chase, with the target being set at 153. Rinku Singh (68*) top-scored for the visitors, and captain Suryakumar Yadav (56) also got a half-century. On the other hand, Gerald Coetzee took a three-wicket haul for South Africa.

Chasing 152 in 15 overs, South Africa cruised to 154/5 in 13.5 overs. Reeze Hendricks was in top form for the Proteas, smacking a knock of 49 off 17 balls. Meanwhile, Mukesh Kumar scalped two dismissals for the home side.

For the third T20I, the weather is expected to be better in Johannesburg, with no rain predicted.

The Wanderers Stadium, where the match will be held, is the only regularly used international ground in South Africa where India have not lost more matches than they have won. They are level at 5-5 in Johannesburg.

But on the other hand, South Africa have a good record at the Wanderers, where they have been victorious in 65.98 percentage of their matches, across all formats.

Gill is not a cross batted player, but he is playing cross batted shots. Very poor from him. His place in T20 team is in great danger. He is behind Jaiswal, Rohit, Gaikwad.

WTH Tilak. That should have been deposited in the stands. But he hits it straight to long on.

Maharaj has taken his white-ball cricket to the next level this year.

Shubman gill has failed to live to his hype. I think Rohit would have been better in this place.

Gill should stick to Ahmedabad pitches. Struggling against SA C.
He dint exactly do well there either?
He was pretty poor in the WC. Maybe just australia? As there won't be much seam movement and there would be true bounce. He is bad vs spin, swing.

Very good from Andile Phehlukwayo who leaks only two singles from the first over outside the powerplay.

Shubman gill has failed to live to his hype. I think Rohit would have been better in this place.
He is not an opener. Too much pressure on him to score at 200 S/R. He should take the role of a 130 S/R batsman and be consistent at it.

Trying to match the Strike Rates of Jaiswal, Kishan will only work against him. Eventually he has to find his place in the middle order. Bashing the ball from the get go is not his strength.

The why India send gill as opener.

First time I am watching Surya score a RizBar type innings

It is mind boggling how this guy plays completely differently in T20. It has to do with playing fairly newish ball with no worry about losing the wicket. India should stick with SKY only for T20s

Surya was 23 off 21

Now he is 81 off 43

Unreal acceleration!

Veryty rarely you need maturity in T20. You need fearlessness. Does of maturity is helpful. But it should largely be based on fearlessness.
He throws away his wicket after hitting 2 sixes in a row. There should be controlled aggression. Otherwise, he would be just a lefthand version of Afridi.

Sa 75/5 after 10 overs. Very difficult to turn the fortunes from here. It looks like India is going to level the series.

Both these choker teams would get eliminated in the league stage of the WT20 in Windies.

Suryakumar Yadav smashed a century off just 55 balls to guide India to a huge total in the final T20I against South Africa in Johannesburg.

Having notched up his fourth T20I century, Suryakumar Yadav went level with Rohit Sharma and Glenn Maxwell for most centuries in the format.

All four of SKY's centuries have come in the last two years and each of them has been scored in a different country – he has a century each in England, New Zealand, India and now South Africa.

At 26 off 24 balls at one point, the stand-in skipper took the attack to South Africa in the second half of the innings. The onslaught began in the 13th over where Andile Phehlukwayo was picked apart for three sixes and a four.

Unleashing a flurry of shots after a sedate start, SKY showed just why he has been ranked the No.1 T20I batter in the MRF Tyres ICC Men's Rankings as he went on to record yet another hundred.

Surya's century was laced with seven fours and eight sixes. During the course of his knock, he also became the second-highest six-hitter (123 sixes) for India in T20Is, going past Virat Kohli who has 117 maximums. Only Rohit Sharma (182) has more sixes for India than Yadav in the shortest international format.

Suryakumar Yadav's century propelled India to a massive total of 201, despite losing a flurry of wickets in the last two overs. He was well-supported by Yashasvi Jaiswal (60), with whom he formed a century partnership for the third wicket.

In reply, South Africa stumbled early on and never managed to recover from the three Powerplay wickets. Mohammed Siraj set the tone with some sublime bowling and despite not picking the wicket, built pressure for his fellow bowlers to do the damage at the other end.

The spinners came to the party in the latter half of the innings, with Kuldeep Yadav capping off his birthday with a five-wicket haul and career-best T20I figures (5/17).

Only three Proteas batters managed to get to double figures as they were skittled out for 95 in the final T20I, 106 runs short of the target. The honours were shared between the two teams after the series ended 1-1, with the first game washed out due to rain.

The two teams will remain in Johannesburg for the ODI series, which will commence at the same venue on 17 December.
