India [224/8] defeat Afghanistan [213] by 11 runs in the 28th match of World Cup 2019

Afghanistan will need a solid start with the bat not losing anything first ten

Yes we were terrible but with Dhawan as opener and Rahul in the middle order this is the best Indian ODI team I’ve seen. Even better than 2011. I don’t think losing today will change that (even though they won’t lose. Hopefully they do though.)
No way better than 2011. That middle order with a Peak Yuvi, Raina and Dhoni were a beast and could chase anything.

Even Dhoni smoked them for fun. Infact Dhoni didn't even face their spinners which Pandya did. Fact is Pandya played that inning when team was in good position. Had we sent Pandya today above Dhoni he would have gifted his wicket away while playing a slog. :inti

Dhoni actually struggles against spinners a lot these days, especially against leggies..

He isn't quick enough to open with rohit and rohit>>>>>>>>rahul so can't replace him.

Yes I agree that! Rohit is too good/bigger player than Rahul at the moment and even Dhawan is so good in his own way. Rohit had his issues in the past, but it is all sorted out now and what's present is important! And also Rohit & Dhawan complement and make such good pair! It is not just Rahul's inconsistency/shortcomings, it is also about how it disturbs the pairing! So Rahul can never replace Rohit/Dhawan as long as they keep performing! He only has chance in Test Matches as neither of them are a competition to him there! (But new competitors are coming there too!)

However if there was no Rohit/Dhawan in Indian team, he would have slowly crawled his way gaining confidence! At the moment his confidence is going nowhere because he is shuffled in the batting order and also under sword for losing his place in the side! It is not anyone's fault that Rohit/Dhawan are so good (one of the best openers ever in ODI cricket!) Rahul has to live with that!

Good thing you aren't a selector then. Because you wouldn't have been good at it, you seem like one of those who would pick afridi ahead of misbah.

actually most of them pick Afridi over Misbah tbh...

What a brilliant decision from Dar. Looked plumb to me but just outside leg

Great call by :Aleem

Looked plum for all intents and purposes.

Kohli has every right to feel aggrieved about losing a review for that. It was fractionally pitching outside leg stump.

Review should be retained in these circumstances. Kohli is right to be livid. Everything seems to be going against India today.

Fluke batting by Afghanistan so far. Surviving due to pure luck.

It was a good review. Just didn't go your way.

First 5 overs, it didn't swing so where it pitched was clearly the question. You shouldn't review in in first 10 overs unless its plumb and this wasn't.

Kohli thinks he is above the game. Some people were doing Bhangra as he walked against Pakistan. That match he knew was won.I would like to see that sportsmanship today when he is under the pump

Let’s see if this bait works :))

No bait. I always argued for retaining review when it’s an umpire’s call, and I think it should be extended to 50-50 scenarios as well.

You shouldn’t be penalized for pitching 50% of the ball outside the line of the leg stump. There is no justice in this world.

With the way they’re batting I’m surprised a wicket hasn’t fallen yet

That would result in too many reviews being retained and therefore taken. It needs to be a tactical decision. I’m fine with the current review system

Total ****....no one did the bhangra when he walked....i am not a supporter of his on field behaviour...its against typical indian dignity in losses and restraint in victory as displayed by a long line of those who donned the blue cap....but hey....he gets a lot more flak than he he bargains for...the camera is always on him everytime he is onnt he field....a lot of the public's perception is formed becaue of this and falsely so...

In that case, teams should have two reviews. One is too less when it 50% luck.

and precisely how would he have known for the match as won.....the other side (pak) was yet to bat....geez....even his own side's 50 ov were not up...quit the blanket exagerration and pigeon holing....
