What's new

India (244/4) comprehensively defeat Pakistan (241) by 6 wickets in their group-stage encounter of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Lose a dynamic batsman( Fukhar) and replace him with TUK TUk Imam
They will open with imam and Babar no Usman crawl to 200+ and smile back to pavillion.

Thats the issue with folks like you . Clinging to the past.. Still romanticizing 92 WC win and 2017 CT win. 2017 was 8 years ago. And for me , you are only as good as your last win. No wonder Pak team is in the state it is.
This is a tournament. We criticize our team plenty the rest of the year, this is the time to get behind our respective teams- and if I have to use the past to motivate the support, I will.

We are defending champions after all.

2017 was different.

Pakistan was playing with peak confidence and better players.

They had Fakhar who just happened to be a generational talent and Pakistan’s 2nd best opener since saeed Anwar and India had zero knowledge about Fakhar besides his game vs England + luck due to Bumrah’s no ball.

Similarly they had Hafeez and Amir, 2 players who have proven to get Pakistan over the line in crucial moments aka hafeez in 2012 Asia cup and Amir in 2009 t20 wc.

Lastly they had sarfi as a captain who had a proven track record of sonehow winning tournaments such as wc under 19 2006.

And finally they were facing india in a final and India is a choker minus Bumrah whos india's only mentality monster.

This time their facing India in a group stage and their without 3 of their of their mentality monsters.

India has zero disadvantages. The only advantage Pakistan has is that dubai can somewhat mask the gap between teams while Pakistani home conditions can't.
Up until we went on our miracle run leading up to the final, in the early stages of the tournament, it was the same. India even thrashed us in the first outing

Have some faith.

This sport is a lot less fun if you try to logic your way to every win as a fan of a team like Pakistan out of all teams with zero planning and all impulse.

Its a game of cricket. Ind will not take it easy on Pak sure and you can support Pak all you want and I can support Ind all I want but facts are facts. Pak is a mediocre team that most probably will crash out of CT tomorrow getting beaten by an Ind team that has 4 washed up senior leeches. And then the Ind leeches will exploit this win for a long time. The Pak team is the definition of mediocrity - if it hurts so be it. .

Good to see her.

This is gonna be thrashing of epic proportions.

Rohit Sharma's strike rate is 124 in powerplay he will destroy Pakistan's bowling.

Indian fans are so obnoxious and so hateable.
I love their tears.
This Pakistan team is so awful they can't make them cry.

It's called bias, the brain gets triggered by what it has a bias against.
India is a huge country with varied type of fans, your bias highlights the obnoxious ones

I read in one soccer fiction story about why people like sports,

"Athleticism, expertise, and moments of surprise"

I quite agree.

And pakistan cricket team has provided us all with all three in abundance in past.

Sadly, first two are increasing lacking in pakistan. But third is still relevant.

I sincerely hope that PCT finds their way back. (After today though :afridi)

Haris Rauf for once needs to perform in a pressure game, Rohit and Kohli love his bowling

One hour to go and not a single post about today's match in my cricket group. I am sure all will start engaging when match starts but the hype isn't much this time for some reason.
Probably because CT is an irrelevant tournament now.

Rohit sharma made mince meat of pakistan's bowling in 2023 world cup. He can do the same today.
86 off 63 balls.

Babar and Imam should bat at least 40 overs.

PAK 120/0 (40)
Babar 60* (120)
Imam 60* (120)
Once bitten twice shy , babar won't repeat that , probably he scores run a ball , similarly imam will do same to improve his image of slow batsman ..

It all depends on the wicket if its sluggish pakistan have a chance if its flat then India is definitely ahead they have superior batters they can out bat pakistan anytime.

Lol wahab looked like stuart binny from far.

Its not about CT, its about India Vs Pakistan, you should know this.

Pakistan lost their last two encounters against India largely due to Jasprit Bumrah. Without him, India might have lost the WT20 2024, when Pakistan was cruising, and the 2023 World Cup match in Ahmedabad, where Bumrah triggered their collapse.

His absence in today’s game is a massive factor, and Harshit Rana is not even 10% the bowler Bumrah is.

Kuldeep Yadav Jadeja they will be tough to negotiate, Pakistan batsmen are poor against spin,

Dont understand what GG sees in Harshit Rana. I understand coach or captains try to get their IPL players in team but Harshit doesn't inspire any confidence skill wise.

ek akela Kohli aur Shaami tum sabpe bhaari padte hai... ur whole team shakes in fear when Kohli walks on the field . shaheen rauf naseem were whacked to all parts by rohit sharma ... now we have kohli pandya rohit and gill. ... and im not bringing Arshdeep singh and our killer Mohd Shami. ...

he has potential and a lot of secret videos of GG. Siraj was Kohlis boy...Thakur was Shastris boy ..now its GGs time

Please stay on topic and talk about the match only... No personal remarks and abusive language..mind it

Underdogs India may not have the talent of their opponents but I'm expecting some fight at least . Make it tough for PAK, lads.

Heard Bumrah is there on the ground, just his presence alone feels so legendary these days. :bumrah

Win probability India 93%, Pakistan 7%

Frightening
I’d say 65 35.

Beyond Gill and Rohit, rest of this batting is either out of form or falls away in pressure games historically.
Bowling wise no Bumrah or Siraj. Half fit Shami and 2 youngster.
Pakistan should try and make early inroads and then it’s even.

In ODI cricket, Pakistan have been consistently mediocre against the established teams (Eng, Aus, Ind, NZ, SA) as they refuse to change their batting template. They have never scored above par batting first in the last 7 years.

SA had one bad world cup and rejigged their team to get power in middle order. Aus and India saw the way England was bossing them and changed their approach to attack PP and stretch batting order.

When will penny drop for Pak?
Will answer this properly after the game

Toss Update:

Pakistan win the toss and opt to Bat first

Pakistan (Playing XI): Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan(w/c), Salman Agha, Tayyab Tahir, Khushdil Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed

India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul(w), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav

According to IIT BABA,

Pakistan will win, India and Kohli will try and not win.

Pakistan has now won the toss, this goes along the prophecy that has been told.

The reputation of India's IIT is on the line with todays match

This is my trolling cutting ceremony for todays match. May the best troll's team wins today.:zaka

Rizwan bhai wins the toss and elects to bat first. Says he would like yaaawwuabaraaa yaaaakaaalaabaa yuhabaaaalubachaaa waaazugahaaa boys awwgana wicket paagawaalavujaa

Didn't brought Babar at no. 3 because then it would prove that it was a wrong decision to open with Babar. So Aqib and co are being stubborn just for the sake of it.

As I predicted one change of Imam. Not bad team but I fear Khushdil will prove to be useless against India.

Saud should have been dropped but yeah... We are not thinking here... let's see if Saud can score some runs... corss 20 at least...

The process: do the opposite of what failed you in the previous game and hope for an improvement

Worth getting up for this? Pak batting first? Already looking dodgy...
